The Côte de Granit Rose is one of the closer French beauty spots for those of us travelling from the UK. Covering thirty kilometres of Brittany’s coastline in Northern France, the Pink Granite Coast gets its name from its pinkish hued sands and stunning tinted rock formations.

Particularly recommended is the coastal path walk from Trestraou beach in Perros-Guirec, which takes about two hours and includes a rock formation ‘treasure hunt’ as you and your family look out for the witch, the rabbit, and Napoleon’s hat!

The Sept Isles, or Seven Islands, are a haven for wildlife lovers and can be reached by regular ferries from Perros-Guirec. Look out for the spectacular puffins, who live here from Spring until mid-July.

For those who are keen to balance their nature loving with a bit of urban culture and retail therapy, the town of Morlaix nestles in the foothills of the mountains with its fabulous viaduct. Keep an eye out for the original 16th century ‘maisons à pondalez’ (overhanging houses) among the other historic buildings and arts and culture displays.

Nearby HomeCamper sites include this pet friendly garden near Ploulec’h, and this B&B and campsite in the small fishing village of Trieux de Penhoat.
