What to visit in the department of Drôme?

The Drôme takes its name from the river which crosses the department from North to South. The landscapes offered by this river are exceptional, such as the Claps de Luc, the Ramières nature reserve or the Trois Becs. Water activities, such as kayaking or canoeing, allow you to explore the Drôme and discover its many landscapes. The Drôme is also part of the Provence and its lavender fields which extend as far as the eye can see. The town of Nyons has a particular heritage, particularly that of the Black Olive and its fruity oil. While passing through the Drôme Provençale, we also advise you to stop in the beautiful villages of La Garde Adhémar, Le Poêt-Laval and finally Montbrun les Bains!
The Drôme is also represented by the Vercors regional nature park. Exceptional natural sites such as the Lapiaz desert, the Rousset pass, the white Draye cave or the Vernaison gorges, the beauty of the landscapes and its preserved fauna and flora make the Vercors park a unique and unmissable place.
The Drôme is also a department filled with history and culture, where buildings are waiting to be visited, such as the castle of Grignan or the castle of the Adhémar. The village of Mirmande is an absolute must see, a typical village in the Drôme where the old stones tell you their history. Another important visit, especially for all gourmands: the city of Montélimar and its famous nougat!
