What to visit in the department of Haute-Savoie?

As part of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, Haute-Savoie usually resonates with everyone's ears as a privileged destination for winter holidays.
Haute Savoie can be above all described by snow in winter, and wooden chalets typical of the department! As a mountainous department with a big chunck of the Alps, the area has a multitude of renowned winter sports resorts: The Portes du Soleil with Châtel, Saint Gervais Mont Blanc, Megève, Chamonix and many more!
Chamonix is one of the most famous resorts, not only for skiing but also for mountaineering, especially because of the Mont Blanc, the highest peak in Europe, which reaches 4,808 metres, but also for its Mer de Glace, the largest and certainly the most beautiful glacier in France.
Haute Savoie also has the Aiguille du Midi. Every year, walkers, hikers and mountaineers of all kinds walk along the Aiguille du Midi, which, from the top of its 3842 metres, offers an extraordinary panoramic view of the Chamonix valley as well as a view of the Mont Blanc.
Proud of their department, the Hauts-Savoyards have a strong cultural identity. You can taste the specialities of the department at the Savoyard tables, such as crozets, raclette, tartiflette and its reblochon.
On the side of towns and villages to visit, Yvoire, a beautiful village, is the pride of the Hauts Savoyards. This village has kept its old-fashioned charm.
The city of Annecy is also to be noted in your logbook. Lac d'Annecy is one of the most beautiful lakes in France, where the blue waters blend into the mountains in the background!
Evian, its waters, its Casino, its golf course and its lake is also a very pleasant city in Haute Savoie, as is the village of Alex or that of La Clusaz.
Located just a stone's throw from Switzerland and Italy, Haute Savoie offers beautiful walks on the shores of Lake Geneva, where you will meet swans, as well as a number of hikes as soon as the snow falls!
