There are many walks to do in the Côte-d'Or, as the department has so many circuits and paths. The Myard circuit or the Bibracte-Alésia trail offer beautiful walks. Races are also regularly organized in the Côte-d'Or such as the Ultra-trail or Alsésia-Trail. The Morvan regional park, the forest of the Chatillonnais region or the Burgundy canal are the ideal places to stroll. With a little luck, you may encounter wild orchids (Venus hooves), rare and protected flowers that grow on the heights.
The department also has 17 limestone cliffs and more than 3000 climbing routes, enough to delight all climbers. The Hauteroche cliff, the Cormot cliff or the Saffres cliff and its 400 developed paths are very popular.
The springs of the Douix (undoubtedly one of the most beautiful in France), that of the Seine, the springs of the Coquille or the waterfall of the Bout du Monde circus, are particularly popular on sunny days. The Saône also offers the possibility of taking beautiful canoe rides.
While passing through the Côte-d'Or, we also advise you to stop at the Bèze cave.
The Côte-d'Or is also represented by the city of Dijon, which is its capital. Dijon, nicknamed the city of a hundred bell towers, offers beautiful pedestrian streets. A city of art and history, Dijon has several buildings to see and review, such as the Gothic church of Notre-Dame, the church of Saint Michel de Dijon or the Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy. The beautiful villages of Flavigny-sur-Ozerain and Châteauneuf en Auxois are also worth visiting.
Finally, while passing through the Côte-d'Or, you will undoubtedly be seduced by its great wines, its Dijon mustard or its Charolais beef!
