What to visit in the department of Val-d'Oise?
The Oise Regional Nature Park and the French Vexin Regional Park (also in the Yvelines) promise preserved landscapes, once so appreciated by impressionist painters. These landscapes are to be observed during many hikes, as there are more than 800 km of trails and more than 110 km of cycle paths that run through the Vexin regional park.
The so-called "jardins remarquables" (litteraly "remarkable gardens") are also not to be missed, in particular the gardens of the Château d'Ambleville or the Country Garden located in Grisy-les-Plâtres.
The Val d'Oise is also a historical heritage, as evidenced by the Château d'Ecouen, the Château de la Roche Guyon and the Château de Méry-sur-Oise.
