What to visit in the city of Narbonne?

Classified as a city of Art and History, Narbonne has nevertheless lost most of the monuments of the Roman period, but you can see the ancient Domitian way, on the square of the Town Hall, a vestige dating back to 120 years BC. From its medieval heritage, you can admire the 13th century Sant-Just-et-Saint-Pasteur cathedral, with its magnificent Gothic choir and vaults over 40 metres high, as well as the Archbishops' Palace, which combines Gothic and Romanesque architecture, and now houses the town hall, the archaeological museum and the art and history museum. Take a walk along the Pont des Marchands, once made up of 7 arches, only one of which is now used to cross the Canal de Robine, the others welcoming the cellars of the houses along the bridge.
From the Renaissance, you will find the Trois-Nourrices house, with its mullioned windows, or the Archdeacon's hotel. The Halles is a fine example of early 20th century architecture, and many green spaces decorate the city, such as the Revolutionary Garden or the Campania Park, as well as the banks of the Robine Canal.

When to go to Narbonne?

The climate of Narbonne is strongly influenced by the Mediterranean Sea. Thus, winters are mild, even if, compared to other seaside resorts such as Lavandou, a coastal town on the Provence-Côte d'Azur coast, temperatures are slightly mild. On the other hand, the weather conditions in summer are superb, as the rains, which have become rare, give way to magnificent sunny and hot days. The transitional seasons such as spring and autumn are impregnated with a certain mildness: this makes the town of Narbonne ideal for visits all year round!
