The Hérault department welcomes you for a stay near the Mediterranean Sea. Depending on your requirements and your needs, HomeCamper has various hosts in store for you that are going to be able to make you enjoy your stay like never before. Lovers of vanlife, roadtrips, and outdoor camping will be delighted!

What to visit in the Hérault?

The Hérault department and its 100 kilometers of coastline are some of the favourite destinations for summer holidaymakers.
La Grande Motte and its atypical architecture, Carnon or Palavas are all pleasant seaside resorts if you plan on finding a particular one for your stay. Cap d'Agde and its beaches (naturist or not) is a particularly lively place that welcomes thousands of tourists every year. Stroll through Montpellier by walking through the alleys of its historic center and discover the Haussmann style of architecture of some hotels and the Place de la Comédie. A young and dynamic city, Montpellier and its Polygone shopping centre or Odysseum and its Lunaret zoo will seduce you. Climb Mount Saint Clair in Sète, and admire the fabulous panorama of the sea, the city and the scrubland! The cathedral of St Nazaire or the church of Sainte Madeleine are also to be seen in Bézier. Other small villages are to be discovered, such as Saint Martin in London or Murviel-les-Béziers or Minerve. Definetly remember the abbey of Gellone in Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert or that of Valmagne since they are are real legacies of the past, just like the cathedral of Maguelone.
The Haut Languedoc regional park offers a wide range of outdoor activities, such as hiking, climbing and fishing. A particularly well-preserved area, you may encounter bats, eagles or otters. Pic Saint Loup also offers beautiful hiking trails. The Navacelles circus is also a must-see in the department!

When to go to the Hérault?

All year round, the weather is mild in the department of Hérault. If you can't stand the high heat and the crowd, avoid the months of July and August. However, the month of May is an excellent choice to go to this destination allowing you to discover the region in complete tranquility, while you can enjoy swimming in the blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
