Description

I thank you for reading the entire ad before asking your questions.
I try to be available and to answer you as soon as possible, but sometimes the network is missing in our mountains ;)

The banks of the river are private, reserved for the people on the ground. There are two accesses: an easier one where the water is shallower (for children for example) and one at the bottom of the field with a water hole. We advise you to bring water shoes. The Dolce Via (soft way, former railway track with a maximum slope of 8%, transformed into a green way for biking, walking...) passes just in front of the field and follows the river for 42 km in total (it goes from la Voulte sur Rhone to St-Agrève).

The setting

The environment is natural, calm, quiet.
Ideal for nature lovers and simplicity enthusiasts!

The land is flat, with trees, you will find shade and/or sun, depending on the time of day.
It is a natural ground, not levelled, it is thus "humped" by place, if you suffer from the back we advise you to envisage a mattress.
Depending on the season of your stay, you will be able to enjoy the wild vine, blackberries and figs.

The access road to the property is on a slope, not passable. Parking lots are located at 75m and 150m, where there have never been any concerns about the safety of vehicles (St-Sauveur is a very quiet village).

The spots

The ground is in echamps (i.e. in espalier) of a total surface of 3 800 m², of which 800 m² all in length are dedicated to the space of the tents.
The pitch is not private (except in the case of large groups), so you can be with other people, but there is enough space for everyone to keep their privacy. The pitches are free.

The amenities

The living space is to be shared with the other tenants: benches, barbecue (allowed depending on the level of drought and the risk of fire), table, non-drinkable spring (it has never been tested, you will find a drinkable spring in the village), which sometimes stops in case of drought. The river never dries up.
Preliminary remark: we are not a camping, we propose you our ground as an alternative to the wild camping, the comfort is thus minimum (dry toilet, solar camping showers) and there is no electricity.

The activities

The village is very close, accessible on foot in 5-10 minutes. You will find all the amenities (supermarkets, butcher's shop, bakery, doctor, pharmacy, gasoline, bar, tobacco, restaurants, florist, farm store, etc.). In fact, the road passes at the top of the land, it is not isolated.

Other things

Your arrival will be organized around the circumstances (professional activities) and the availability of the moment, so please inform us as soon as you know your schedule ;)

We don't live on the ground, so you will feel at home during your stay!

We speak English and know the area of central Ardeche well and will be happy to answer your questions!

  • Great!
First experience of this type of camping.
Ideally located, feet in the water, unbeatable value for money! :)

  • Elsa and Steve's warm welcome, the proximity of the river, the beautiful walks, the good restaurants: a flawless performance for our first stay with HomeCamper!

  • Superb location on the river and a few minutes from the dolce via and the village. Thanks to Elsa for her welcome and see you soon ;)

  • nice place, convenient for people who come by public transport! (the bus that stops in the village, the shops nearby...) And the river, that's top top top! (even in autumn :-) )
Thanks Elsa, and it was nice to meet you after the festival!

  • We had a great time on Elsa's field! The setting is incredible, the field very nice!
    Thanks again :)

  • Small corner of paradise with a nice swimming spot, near a small village with all amenities (supermarket, restaurant ....)

  • Our stay at Elsa's went very well! We enjoyed good swimming in the river, good walks around the foot of the plot and a friendly atmosphere in the village two minutes walk from the camping area. The place is really quiet with a lot of fruit trees and shrubs. We hope to return soon!

  • We spent two nights on Elsa's land, and it was beautiful. Great welcome and a very beautiful place. We recommend 100%.

  • We didn't have the chance to meet Elsa because we arrived later than expected on the property, but that didn't stop Elsa from being very attentive to make sure that our stay went well! The river right next to the property is very nice, and I highly recommend the great bike ride on the Dolce Via!

  • Excellent stay at Elsa who is very nice!!! The setting is just top !!! We stayed one more night and we will come back with pleasure !!!

  • Great stay at the river, very nice place, very friendly host...

  • A wonderful welcome by Elsa and Steve, a magnificent setting, in short, young and old were enchanted by this family vacation. We recommend it 100%!

  • The location is very nice and convenient. Very good welcome by Elsa. It was my first experience in a tent and I loved it. We didn't have very good weather unfortunately but I will come back and to the same location. I recommend it. I love the dry toilets!

  • Beautiful village, very welcoming with all the necessary amenities, site is large, the slope a little steep but accessibility is very correct and olat land, the river in front just perfect! ultra zen landscape, clean spring water and dry toilet it does not take more, thank you Elsa, good continuation ????

  • A nice place with its wild character. The river that passes just below the site is very pleasant to refresh yourself.
Elsa is nice and available. The site is quiet, clean and close to the center of the village (max 10min on foot).
We had a relaxing stay and spent a very good time with the other gampeurs by the fire. The spirit of the campsite, simplicity and conviviality.

  • A heavenly place, perfect to recharge your batteries and take a break from the big cities. Thank you Elsa and Styve for your welcome and your kindness!

  • Excellent stay in a beautiful and quiet place, that we even had to extend so much we felt like at home, in immersion with nature. We were very well received by Elsa who took care of us during our stay. There would be too much to say, you have to live it, we recommend it 100% for nature and simplicity lovers :)

  • We enjoyed hour stay at Elsa's very much! I would recommend it if you like to be in nature and don't need much of facilities. There is no elekrtricity but the village is close by where you can get everything you want. We did not meet Elsa, she does not live there but it wasn't a problem, she was always available by phone. The river that is next to the tents is like paradise, it is very beautifull. I would come back one day.

  • A superb stay in this preserved corner of the Ardèche, a feeling of being at the end of the world by the river and near the village. An ideal location and a warm welcome by Elsa and Steve, thank you! :)

  • Great spot at the foot of the Eyrieux! Much better than a campsite and nice meeting with jean and laure our co-tenants around a good campfire...

  • Great experience. The place is wild and the river is full of small fish.
    Thanks to Elsa ????.

  • this place is the future, sober and respectful of our planet
    Bravo

  • What a beautiful stay! A total change of scenery, paradise for our teenagers thanks to the proximity of the river which is really beautiful, clear and warm. The children found a water hole to jump from the rocks in safety, the adults natural jacuzzis created by the current and the stones. Possibility to fish for small gudgeon and sun perch. The terrain is flat with some shade in the morning. Elsa and Styve have built a barbecue area with a very nice grill. There is also a spring for rinsing and washing dishes. The shopkeepers are very nice, you can find everything in the village. A big thank you to our 2 hosts for this aperitif which allowed us to share a convivial moment between people of different horizons. A very nice experience with very pleasant and helpful people. We will come back!

  • A little corner of paradise for lovers of nature bivouacs without fuss! We came with 8 families with children, the land is large, flat and well maintained. The access to the river is great after a day of pedaling. Elsa and her husband are very nice and helpful.

  • Elsa's site is simply a little piece of heaven on earth. Surrounded by mountains, bathed by a river that is right in front of the site, next to public transportation and shops needed to get supplies, this gamping is really ideal for us and we hope to have the opportunity to come back very soon. Elsa is very attentive and available to answer any questions. I advise you to do the experience :)

  • Quiet night, access to water ideal to soak your feet in the morning! The dry toilets could be a bit better in my opinion.

  • A secluded spot below the road, with easy access to a river with a pleasant temperature. It was a little rootsy (the rain didn't help), but we had a great time with a very nice family of gampeurs. And above all, Elsa is great! We talked for a long time about everything and anything, it was great. The area is beautiful. If it rains, go to Ardelaine in the next village, a beautiful place.

  • Our little trip to Elsa's was our first Gamping experience, and quite frankly our stay at the campground was simply wonderful. Our three daughters (7, 5 and 2 years old) had a great time in the river and the evening campfires were always a real pleasure.
All the elements are there for everyone to have an enjoyable stay. The location of the site is great (close to the village without being too close, it's a good 20 minute walk to get the croissants in the morning and back).
The river is fantastic; swimming, fishing, playing everything is possible from the field.
In short, I think that we will try the Gamping experience much more regularly, and the next time we go to Saint-Sauveur we will sleep on Elsa's land.
A little more, I advise you to go to the village of Saint Pierreville, and to eat at the restaurant "La Cerise sur l'agneau", which is simply delicious, and then take the opportunity to visit the Ardelaine cooperative

  • Great stay with Elsa and her family!
Elsa's description corresponds perfectly to what she proposes! The river is great and the land is ideal. Elsa's welcome is very warm. She was very available during our stay!
    We highly recommend this experience!

  • A week spent in this idyllic environment. Small very nice aperitif with Elsa, Steven and Elyja and a welcome at the top

  • We had a wonderful stay. Elsa was very helpful. It's a very quiet spot, you can walk to a restaurant and a supermarket. I would recommended it to everyone.

  • We spent 5 days in Ardèche on Elsa's site! The setting is crazy! The river just below is a dream for the whole family who needed to get back to their roots! Really top. Good restaurant in the area.

  • Great vacation! We were lucky to have the land to ourselves. The place is beautiful and the rocks are ideal for reading and relaxing. We were able to enjoy the river and observe its many fish. The hosts are very welcoming and warm, just like the Ardèche people, always smiling.

  • we were a group of 6 people, the only tenants on the site; we were looking for a very quiet place, away from civilization, to swim and make campfires and we were fulfilled! The land is just below the road, a few minutes walk from the village of St Sauveur de Montagut (where you can find all the amenities: crossroads, bakery, coffee, gas station ...) and yet once you are there you are sheltered from view, you only hear the sound of the river and birds singing ... In short, an ideal place to recharge your batteries and enjoy nature! A big thank you to Elsa and her family for their warm welcome, their help and advice, we spent a wonderful weekend :)

  • What good memories, beautiful meetings on all sides. Splendid region.

  • Hello Elsa,
Time stopped and the river continued to flow, a vacation in a small wild paradise that allowed us to forget all the worries of everyday life.
Thanks again to all of you for your good mood !!!!!
A thousand thanks to the ardechois who have the hand on the heart.

  • The reception and the setting are superb with this river next to it, just a downside: a small solar shower for about 12 people is far from being enough. The rest is as described.

  • thank you elsa and steeve for these vacations at the edge of the river, in a very sympathetic and pleasant place !!!!
to do again in the future !!!!

  • Great stay! The location by the river is very pleasant, Elsa is very available and very warm. We highly recommend it to travel through the Ardeche and to meet new people!

  • A pleasure to see Elsa, Styve and the little Elyja again. A heavenly place, a quiet and well maintained ground with welcoming and caring hosts...What a happiness, if you have the opportunity, if you like nature...without hesitation! A perfect combo!

  • Paradise For a group of young people who love nature and at the same time are close to civilization

  • For people who want a break from comfort it is perfect. We loved making a bivouac fire and eating marshmallows, chocolate banana, potato. The more a river to some meter. Levels of activity, there is what to enjoy. Our family wants to do the comfort break experience again next year.
Elsa welcomed us at our arrival, very nice.
    We recommend this place.

  • Great stay in a really nice place! :)

  • Excellent stay at the Elsa site, at the foot of the river, we had a great time in Saint Sauveur de Montagut.

Special mention to Elsa, super nice, who welcomed us warmly!

  • Elsa came to welcome us on her land when we arrived.
We had a great wilderness camping experience.
The site is close to all the necessary shops.
The setting is fabulous. The river on the site is superb. In the morning there is little sun which allows us to wake up not too early and cool. From noon on, the sun shines on the entire site.
It is magical to be able to spend an evening around a campfire!

  • Top Mammoth!! as my children say. I came with my 2 wolfies of 5 and 8 years old and we had a great stay. Falling asleep to the sound of the river, it's priceless. Nothing to complain about, Elsa and her family are very welcoming, the site is very simple, but nothing is missing. We will come back, the children are already asking for it. The plus, the village nearby for fresh bread in the morning, for us it's a luxury!
Thank you and see you soon

  • Impeccable!

  • A nice little place by the river! Thanks to Elsa and Steeve for their welcome!

  • It's a real good spot if you want to relax and enjoy the beautifull nature of Ardeche.

The absolute highlight of my stay was after a long walk of 20 km through the hills, when I was drinking a cold bottle of beer, sitting on a big stone in the river, watching my girlfriend who came back from the supermarket with more beer. ;)

St.S de Montagut is a quiet charming little village with everything you need, like a supermarket, a bakery, some restaurants and a bar.

Elsa and Steve are open minded, easy going and very friendly hosts.

    We're coming back.

  • We had a great stay thanks to very welcoming hosts and a site that is close to a village with all amenities and multiple activities!
