Description

Please read the ad in its entirety before asking any questions.
I'll try to be available and get back to you as soon as possible, but sometimes there's not much of a network in our mountains ;)

The banks of the river are private, reserved for people in the field. There are two accesses: an easier one where the water is shallower (for children, for example) and one at the bottom of the field with a water hole. We advise you to bring water shoes. The Dolce Via (a former railway track with a maximum gradient of 8%, now converted into a greenway for cycling, walking, etc.) passes right in front of the site and runs along the river for a total of 42 km (from La Voulte sur Rhone to St-Agrève).

The setting

The environment is natural, calm and tranquil.
Ideal for nature lovers and those who prefer simplicity!

The land is flat and planted with trees, so you'll find shade and/or sun depending on the time of day.
The terrain is natural and unlevelled, so it's "bumpy" in places. If you have a bad back, we recommend you bring a mattress.
Depending on the season of your stay, you can enjoy wild vines, blackberries and figs.

The access road to the site is on a slope and not suitable for vehicles.
There are parking lots at 75m and 150m, where we've never had to worry about vehicle safety (St-Sauveur is a very quiet village).

The spots

The pitch is in the form of a "échamps" (i.e. espalier), with a total surface area of 3,800 m², 800 m² of which is dedicated to the tents.
The pitch is not private (except in the case of large groups), so you can be with other people, but there's enough space for everyone to keep their privacy. Pitches are free.

The sanitary facilities

We have dry toilets.

The amenities

The living space is to be shared with the other tenants: benches, barbecue (authorized depending on the level of drought and the risk of fire), table, non-drinkable spring (never tested, you'll find a drinkable spring in the village), which sometimes stops in case of drought. The river never dries up.
Please note: we're not a campsite, we offer our land as an alternative to wilderness camping, so comfort is minimal (dry toilets, solar camping showers) and there's no electricity.

The activities

The village is very close by, and can be reached on foot in 5-10 minutes. You'll find all amenities (supermarkets, butchers, bakers, doctors, chemists, petrol stations, bars, tobacconists, restaurants, florists, farm stores, etc.). In fact, the road passes right over the plot, so it's not isolated.

Other things

Your arrival will be organized according to circumstances (professional activities) and current availability, so please let us know as soon as you know your schedule ;)

We don't live in the field, so you'll feel right at home during your stay!

We speak English and know the central Ardèche area well, so we'll be happy to answer any questions you may have!

Rules

We ask you to respect the environment, the site, the facilities and, above all, each other.
Smokers are asked to dispose of their cigarette butts in the ashtrays, and people with pets are asked to pick up after their pets.

  • A night spent at Elsa's, by the river, very pleasant surroundings, fruit on the ground that doesn't spoil anything.

The outdoor shower is a luxury I particularly appreciate.

Elsa and her family are friendly and made me feel very welcome.

    I'd recommend them!

  • Pleasant riverside location, welcoming and responsive hosts. Had a great time.

  • Good experience.
We will probably come back :)

  • In a few words, great welcome, friendly, sympathetic, beautiful place on the river.
    Excellent stay.

  • The location is perfect, what could be better than waking up on the banks of a river...in peace and quiet?
The location is ideal for discovering the region and the village on foot in just a few minutes.
Thanks again to Elsa for your warm welcome and for our night at your place, which is a bit like a wilderness campsite in all equality!

  • Great spot, Thanks Elsa !

  • We spent a lovely night under the stars listening to the river after a swim. thank you Elsa!

  • It's a lovely place, we had a great time in a quiet area not overlooked, it's the best, I recommend it 100%.

  • A very pleasant place. Beautiful nature, the owners are positive and welcoming. I will certainly come back here

  • A magical place, wonderful encounters THANK YOU Elsa for sharing this with your family....
    ????????

  • Many thanks Elsa for your warm welcome and kindness,
A place with a beautiful atmosphere
My son and I had a great time thanks to the extraordinary setting, the calm, the change of scenery and your kindness ☺️,
It's the ideal place to recharge your batteries and meet new people ???? I recommend+++.
My little one and I would like to thank you again, we will certainly be back!

  • Nice place. For real camping. And trade has proximity.

  • It was really nice at Elsa! The access to the water is great and we felt very comfortable. Elsa is helpful and lovely. Gladly again!!! :)

  • We had a pleasant stay on this large, well-shaded lot. Everything is as described. The access to the river below is great and at night the sound of the water lulls us.

  • We were delighted to meet Elsa who was perfect. The site is superb with the river nearby. We had a great night by the campfire despite the low outside temperature. The dry toilets are well adapted for their use and very clean.
A big unanimous thank you from 5 hikers.

  • One night stay during a weekend of discovery of the Dolce Via. A great moment, a saving stop, a desire to come back for longer in the good weather!
Contrary to the previous comment (which almost slowed me down in my reservation...) I had read the announcement and was not surprised that there was no drinking water, it was noted in black and white (I had forgotten to ask Elsa where the drinking spring was in the village, despite the late hour of my SMS she told me right away, thank you!), the showers are solar showers decathlon style (I didn't use them for one night but they are very good for "wild camping" style). The road passes above the site, which allows to be right next to the village for the races and to reach the Dolce Via in a few pedal strokes. The noise is not at all disturbing when you are in the tent area, where the song of the river takes over everything else. Finally, concerning the access road this one is quite accessible by bike, admittedly on a slope. I also had panniers, so I simply mounted my bike, then my bags, so no difficulty. I find Gérard's comment very mean and unfair, and above all unrealistic following the experience I personally had. Hence the interest, as it is written at the top of the ad, to read everything in full.
Future campers, don't just read this bad comment (as I almost did...), read the ad and look at the other comments :)
Thank you Elsa for the welcome and the smile, I would happily come back to your little corner of paradise <3

  • Alas it is a great disappointment. For 9€ I thought I would at least have drinking water which is the basic in this world, let alone a shower. For 12€ I'm in a 3 star campsite in Chambon sur Mignon! Moreover I am in bicycle bags and impossible to go up with the load of the never seen and yet I travelled a little by bicycle. Here is this sad report while hoping that this style of proposal disappears. It's the first time, there won't be a second one and I hope it will snowball. I forgot but the situation just under the road very frequented by trucks was not mentioned.

  • We stayed 12 days with 5 children from 2 to 12 years old on Elsa's land and we had a wonderful vacation.
We were looking for disconnection, nature, calm. We were not disappointed.
Our neighbors, who stayed on average 3 to 4 days, were all very nice and we even met some very nice people. As for our hosts, they were as welcoming as available.
The big positive points: the river in which we spent several hours per day. The site is quite safe, shallow with a slight current. Ideal with water shoes to avoid hurting yourself on the rocks. It is also possible to jump off the rocks. What to make beautiful bathes in all peace.
The surroundings are also very pleasant with many possible activities for all the family: beach, canoe, paddle, accro-branche, rent of bicycles for ballade on the soft way, various excursions.
We will keep this address for our next vacations!

  • Delighted to have been able to enjoy this beautiful place again. Nice meetings and wonderful moments during these 4 days. Thank you Elsa !

  • Elsa is available and welcoming.
The site is very pleasant, well equipped and well located.
    Great stay!

  • Not having a car we chose this campsite for its easy access by bus from Valence.
The site is close to the Eyrieux river which is a joy for children and adults.
The toilets and the shower are basic (dry toilets with sawdust) and the cleanliness depends on the discipline of the residents because it is necessary to renew regularly the bio
degradable bag and to take care of the cleanliness of the place.
For my part, it was perfect because everyone did his best.
The environment is a joy for hikers.
I advise you to use the IGN map, which is more detailed than the map of the tourist office
to facilitate the circuits (Dolcevia road,
proximity of a GR, castle, etc...)
In the village you will find all the food (carrefour, casino, baker, butcher etc...
Only small drawback, the proximity of the departmental road 1 little noisy during the day from 8H.At night, not noisy.
Equip yourselves with ponchos, and big tarp, for the rainy episodes; think of occupying the small ones during these rainy phases.
The solar charger and the solar shower are very useful.
sandals like jellyfish because the river is slippery.
We had a very pleasant stay,
Elsa and Steeve are charming and devoted.
    The Ardéchois are adorable.

  • A lot, a river, friends and all amenities within a ten minute walk. What better way to spend a vacation.
Thanks to Elsa and Steeve for their welcome and their sympathy.
    See you soon. Sam

  • Great spot. The river just below, that we see and hear where we land is great. The water was particularly good whereas we are cold!
Elsa is just at the top

  • Great!
First experience of this type of camping.
Ideally located, feet in the water, unbeatable value for money! :)

  • Elsa and Steve's warm welcome, the proximity of the river, the beautiful walks, the good restaurants: a flawless performance for our first stay with HomeCamper!

  • Superb location on the river and a few minutes from the dolce via and the village. Thanks to Elsa for her welcome and see you soon ;)

  • nice place, convenient for people who come by public transport! (the bus that stops in the village, the shops nearby...) And the river, that's top top top! (even in autumn :-) )
Thanks Elsa, and it was nice to meet you after the festival!

  • We had a great time on Elsa's field! The setting is incredible, the field very nice!
    Thanks again :)

  • Small corner of paradise with a nice swimming spot, near a small village with all amenities (supermarket, restaurant ....)

  • Our stay at Elsa's went very well! We enjoyed good swimming in the river, good walks around the foot of the plot and a friendly atmosphere in the village two minutes walk from the camping area. The place is really quiet with a lot of fruit trees and shrubs. We hope to return soon!

  • We spent two nights on Elsa's land, and it was beautiful. Great welcome and a very beautiful place. We recommend 100%.

  • We didn't have the chance to meet Elsa because we arrived later than expected on the property, but that didn't stop Elsa from being very attentive to make sure that our stay went well! The river right next to the property is very nice, and I highly recommend the great bike ride on the Dolce Via!

  • Excellent stay at Elsa who is very nice!!! The setting is just top !!! We stayed one more night and we will come back with pleasure !!!

  • Great stay at the river, very nice place, very friendly host...

  • A wonderful welcome by Elsa and Steve, a magnificent setting, in short, young and old were enchanted by this family vacation. We recommend it 100%!

  • The location is very nice and convenient. Very good welcome by Elsa. It was my first experience in a tent and I loved it. We didn't have very good weather unfortunately but I will come back and to the same location. I recommend it. I love the dry toilets!

  • Beautiful village, very welcoming with all the necessary amenities, site is large, the slope a little steep but accessibility is very correct and olat land, the river in front just perfect! ultra zen landscape, clean spring water and dry toilet it does not take more, thank you Elsa, good continuation ????

  • A nice place with its wild character. The river that passes just below the site is very pleasant to refresh yourself.
Elsa is nice and available. The site is quiet, clean and close to the center of the village (max 10min on foot).
We had a relaxing stay and spent a very good time with the other gampeurs by the fire. The spirit of the campsite, simplicity and conviviality.

  • A heavenly place, perfect to recharge your batteries and take a break from the big cities. Thank you Elsa and Styve for your welcome and your kindness!

  • Excellent stay in a beautiful and quiet place, that we even had to extend so much we felt like at home, in immersion with nature. We were very well received by Elsa who took care of us during our stay. There would be too much to say, you have to live it, we recommend it 100% for nature and simplicity lovers :)

  • We enjoyed hour stay at Elsa's very much! I would recommend it if you like to be in nature and don't need much of facilities. There is no elekrtricity but the village is close by where you can get everything you want. We did not meet Elsa, she does not live there but it wasn't a problem, she was always available by phone. The river that is next to the tents is like paradise, it is very beautifull. I would come back one day.

  • A superb stay in this preserved corner of the Ardèche, a feeling of being at the end of the world by the river and near the village. An ideal location and a warm welcome by Elsa and Steve, thank you! :)

  • Great spot at the foot of the Eyrieux! Much better than a campsite and nice meeting with jean and laure our co-tenants around a good campfire...

  • Great experience. The place is wild and the river is full of small fish.
    Thanks to Elsa ????.

  • this place is the future, sober and respectful of our planet
    Bravo

  • What a beautiful stay! A total change of scenery, paradise for our teenagers thanks to the proximity of the river which is really beautiful, clear and warm. The children found a water hole to jump from the rocks in safety, the adults natural jacuzzis created by the current and the stones. Possibility to fish for small gudgeon and sun perch. The terrain is flat with some shade in the morning. Elsa and Styve have built a barbecue area with a very nice grill. There is also a spring for rinsing and washing dishes. The shopkeepers are very nice, you can find everything in the village. A big thank you to our 2 hosts for this aperitif which allowed us to share a convivial moment between people of different horizons. A very nice experience with very pleasant and helpful people. We will come back!

  • A little corner of paradise for lovers of nature bivouacs without fuss! We came with 8 families with children, the land is large, flat and well maintained. The access to the river is great after a day of pedaling. Elsa and her husband are very nice and helpful.

  • Elsa's site is simply a little piece of heaven on earth. Surrounded by mountains, bathed by a river that is right in front of the site, next to public transportation and shops needed to get supplies, this gamping is really ideal for us and we hope to have the opportunity to come back very soon. Elsa is very attentive and available to answer any questions. I advise you to do the experience :)

  • Quiet night, access to water ideal to soak your feet in the morning! The dry toilets could be a bit better in my opinion.

  • A secluded spot below the road, with easy access to a river with a pleasant temperature. It was a little rootsy (the rain didn't help), but we had a great time with a very nice family of gampeurs. And above all, Elsa is great! We talked for a long time about everything and anything, it was great. The area is beautiful. If it rains, go to Ardelaine in the next village, a beautiful place.
