Description

We are open all year round.

Set above the Falaises des Vaches Noires, our gateway is on one of the country lanes (no traffic) which leads down to Villers-sur-Mer's long sandy beaches, restaurants and activities. Our camping sites are well spaced and varied. There are 2 showers, 2 toilets and a kitchen sink with hot water.

Additional facilities are charged as a supplement. Please see below under 'Ameneties'
We require payment in cash on arrival for any extras. If you are coming as a group with several vehicles
please book each vehicle and it's occupants as a separate booking to ensure our site does not become too overcrowded.

We are not a ‘glamping’ site but camping in a private garden. We are happy to accept a dog if it is kept well under control because we have a little flock of chickens who roam around the site all day. However, there is plenty of space for walking them around the site and in the adjoining lanes.

The setting

We are adjacent to Le Chemin de l'Eglise au Manoir an ancient boccage lane, free from traffic. Two restaurants are less than 10 minutes walk away, or 2 kilometers away in the town of Villers-sur-Mer.

The spots

We have created the camping pitches with mowed paths leading to them so as to be as far apart as possible to give a feeling of privacy and peace and quiet away from the buildings.

The sanitary facilities

The barn has been fitted out for Homecampers with a shower room with toilet and washbasin; an additional separate toilet and a kitchen sink for washing up, all with hot water. A second shower room has just been added.

Please note that we are on a septic tank and sand filter system and not on mains drainage. So we ask you to take short showers, respect the information sheet we put in the showers to explain this and take into account that we are offering camping in our private garden, not in a commercial campground.

In the laundry room there is a double sink with cold water, suitable for washing muddy boots, etc. and a washing machine (tokens 2 € per wash).

The amenities

Free WiFi (fiber optic) in and near the barn and electric sockets to charge phone/tablet only,
then, we charge the following supplements:

3€ per night for direct connection to electricity.
5€ p/night for a barbeque or fire pit, feu de camp. (bring your own wood/charcoal)
10€ per night for an extra car or trailer.
7€ for an extra tent, per night.
2€ per wash to use the washing machine in the laundry room.
Eggs, when available, 3€ for six.

The activities

Villers-sur-Mer is a vibrant seaside town with all amenities situated on the Côte Fleurie.
In the summer there are concerts on the beach and numerous activities and animations, including the casino and a paleantology museum.

Other things

We will only accept dogs if they are kept well under control on a lead at all times
because we have a little flock of chickens who roam around the site all day. However, there is plenty of space for walking them around the site and in the adjoining lanes.

Rules

Enjoy your stay, keep the gate locked when you leave the site or come back, respect our privacy and that of other people who live on site, eg: no late night noise.

  • Super experience with a very cordial welcome, we arrived a little late but Anne was very welcoming. Unrestricted access to all amenities. We wouldn't hesitate to return if we were in the area again. Beware of very large motorhomes or caravans as there is a fairly tight passage.

  • Very warm welcome and location, but lack of cleanliness in bathrooms and still expensive 40€ per night for a van with 2 people and electricity.

  • A good night's rest. With the sound of the sea in the distance. Small garage with toilet and shower, perfect for colder weather.

  • very warm welcome. The place is great.

  • We were welcomed very warmly, showing us all their dedicated camping spots where they mowed the lawn. In fact, we could also sleep wherever we wanted to on their large plot of land. If you go in October, as we did, you could be very lucky and have the whole place to yourselves. To shower and go to the restroom there is a small building with 2 toilets and 2 showers which are pretty clean.

The place also offers very nice view of the village and sea, it's even better at sunrise or dawn.

There is a supermarket closely and if you want to go to the bakery or want to go eat outside you have more than enough options since there are 3 villages, 8 min. driving from the site.

In the end, we had an excellent stay!

  • Very warm welcome from the hostess, great choice of tent pitches with a small shady spot in the forest.
2 bathrooms and 2 toilets, very practical, but rather old-fashioned.

  • Our first home camping experience - great grounds for camping with lots of space and a free view over the field. Seaside and village in walking distance (1.5 - 2 km), nice and a bit adventurous path through the nearby forest. Price a bit high (60 Euro per night) in relation to the status of the sanitary area (layout, furniture, cleanliness), especially in comparison with campsites which start at 25 Euro per night for us 5. Four other parties were staying at the same time, so especially cleaning dishes was not so easy with only one ordinary sink provided, which was at the same time used for cleaning fish etc. Altogether still a recommendation due to the great grounds!

  • A site we've only dreamed of! Few campers, out of sight, out of mind - true peace and quiet. The perfect place to chill out after a good day. And to hang out in the morning, because it's so comfortable. In any case, it's what we were looking for. Anne, the owner, is very welcoming and discreet. You're really at home. The state of the amenities also depends on the campers... Some don't necessarily respect the premises. The advantage is that you have 2 toilets and 2 shower rooms! And a sheltered hearth! For the few people present, it's a real comfort. You're really independent from the owners. Pets are allowed, and the owner's very friendly dogs stay with them. Our cat was able to roam free with no worries. It's easy to get to by car, and you can get off on foot (be careful, it's uphill on the way back! PRM people need to think about it). From the very first day, we were keen to stay, unlike other sites where we shunned the promiscuity and noise.
If some people have reported that the communal areas were not very clean, perhaps it was due to other campers being less respectful? (A little sweeping up can do it for everyone). The premises are certainly a little vintage, but that's just decoration. The site is equipped with a flat gravel parking area, and the pitches are totally natural in a meadow. Some have small hedged enclosures... A weeping willow... Or a small garden... You can choose to set up far away in your own corner, or closer to the common. For my part, I chose the small garden because I'm handicapped, but as the land is flat, everything was accessible to me without losing the natural, isolated feel.
In short, we'll be back, hoping that everyone will continue to respect the site and the campers, in the friendly, jovial atmosphere that Anne and her kindness have created. We look forward to seeing Alejandra and Taïko again.
    See you!

  • Beautiful grounds and a warm welcome from Anne.
A little clean and fresh would be nice for the common area.

  • Very good reception small privatized ground. it is not dirty, but it is not clean either.
A little expensive for my taste 37€ for my son and myself.
    But still a good place

  • We had a very pleasant 4-day stay with Anne and Tom. Perfect welcome, a quiet place just for us, with a key given to you on arrival to enter and leave the estate whenever you like. Security is a plus, and respected by everyone. As much as the cleanliness of the sanitary facilities depends on some careless campers, everyone makes sure that the gate stays locked. I haven't heard of the housekeeper, contrary to some comments...
All in all, perfect for a farm campsite, at a good price, and for a setting not comparable to the municipal campsite at the entrance to the street.
A path leads down to the cliffs (landed at the water sports centre) for the adventurous ???? we'll be back with great pleasure. Best regards

  • Anne and Tom are charming and very helpful.
We camped in a beautiful, unspoilt spot, ideal for relaxing.
To make it perfect, the washing-up and toilet facilities need to be improved, enlarged and cleaned.
The sea, stores and shuttle bus are too far to walk, which is a pity.
We've been camping for 50 years, and we love nature. This place could do with a little work.
With my encouragement, and all my sympathy for Anne and Tom.

  • A great place to enjoy the coast at lower cost.
Note that at the top of the cliffs you don't feel the humidity of the seaside, and that's great for sleeping.
I'll definitely be back to enjoy the festival.

  • very good welcome, large green garden, very satisfied, we enjoyed it very much

  • A perfect setting and location for visiting the area!
The sanitary facilities, old-fashioned but functional, are a little scruffy in terms of cleanliness (but that's as much the fault of the campers as the owners!).
On the other hand, we had to remove some dog droppings before we could set up camp... Not very pleasant.
In short, charming owners, but a site a little more rootsy than we expected when we booked a "super camp".
We'd still recommend this place to the whole HomeCamper community.

  • My first experience of a home camping site was very ambivalent: Anne's welcome was warm, and the setting of their grounds, with their many nooks and crannies, very peaceful! However, the cleanliness of the sanitary facilities leaves a lot to be desired, and the price is excessive for one night compared with all the campsites on the Côte Fleurie.

  • Very good welcome by Anna.
    Well installed, beautiful view.
Everything you need for a great week in a caravan.
    Weather not great.

  • Anne welcomed us with a warm smile in this rainy weather, the atmosphere is pleasant, the toilets and showers are nickel ????, great hike with beautiful scenery two kilometers from the beach. On top of that, Anne bought eggs from the hens, great for breakfast! Thanks Anne ????

  • Disappointing!
Clearly, the ad sells the dream but hasn't been updated in a very long time. According to the owner, she's no longer old enough to look after the campers, so she delegates the job to a "housekeeper" who lives in a caravan on the site with the campers. BUT he doesn't really know what home camping is. Indeed, the cleanliness of the sanitary facilities is to be shunned, unless you clean the showers and toilets yourself, not to mention the housekeeper's drunken parties, which go on until late into the night, to the point where you have to get out of the tent to stop the drinking.
In short, just passable for a night or two if you're not too fussy about hygiene, but to be avoided if you plan to stay several nights or with children.
And this despite Anne's kindness and the location.
    Very, very disappointed.
We left a week earlier than planned... No refund of course...

  • We'll be back very soon to see you in an ideal setting for nature lovers, and we send our regards to Delphine and Jean.

  • We stayed for 2 nights on the estate of Anne and Tom. We had the option between a couple of camping spots all very private. Anne gave us a key to the gate and showed us the toilets and showers which were clean. There was a place to wash dishes and a place to dispose of any garbage/charge your phone. The area is beautiful and the beach is within half an hour walk (also a great spot for hikers). We were able to sleep in both mornings until 11 because its very peaceful and quiet on the estate. Overall me and my girlfriend had a great time and would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a relaxing and private camping spot.

  • It was a first and we were not disappointed. The setting is idyllic, quiet, with a very kind welcome from Anne, I love her English accent.
(The separate toilets and showers are a plus. )
there's even a microwave. Would do again.

  • Anne is very friendly. Warm welcome. The pitches are unmarked but the plot is very large. The sanitary facilities are very dirty and outdated. The price is exorbitant compared to the services offered. We won't be coming back. There is no path down to the sea as indicated in the description.

  • As we were due to arrive late (10:30pm), we waited 20 minutes for someone to come and welcome us. An occupant of the house took charge. The person who was supposed to welcome us arrived much later, completely drunk.
The setting is very pretty, the garden, the view. Very good
The toilets and showers were extremely dirty, to put it politely. We didn't want to take showers there.
Given the comments and notes we read before booking, we were disappointed by the lack of basic cleanliness and the associated price.

  • Unfortunately, we were only guests of Tom&Anne for one night. Anne is just a fantastic hostess and we felt very comfortable and enjoyed the conversations. @ Anne: my husband fell in love with Flora:-)

  • Hikers on the GR223, we stopped off at Anne and Tom's, as their house is on the way. Very pleasant welcome, spacious location, well-equipped premises with everything we needed. Thank you for this beautiful stop on our way.

  • After 2 years we visited Ann again. The location is still there and Ann is very kind. The large garden offers many opportunities to find a quiet place and for our 2 dogs to play. Beach is within walking distance. However, the house, the 2 showers and 2 toilets do need some maintenance. Everything looks a bit dated and dirty. The first evening we had a lot of noise from a party somewhere nearby. Ann can't do anything about this, of course. Also someone lives on site in a caravan and he came home quite drunk and screaming on the 2nd night of our stay. It took quite some time before he was helped into his caravan and was calm again. A pity about this otherwise beautiful place. We left a day earlier.

  • Very good night at Tom and Anne's! Very welcoming house with all amenities and warm atmosphere. Very close to Villers, I recommend it!

  • Perfect, as usual!
    Thanks for everything.

  • Very nice people and great location, I recommend it!

  • Anna is very welcoming, and the place is spacious, with showers and toilets available.
A walk in the middle of nature takes us directly to the town or to the large beach.
    I would recommend

  • A very nice location and welcome. Quiet place that I recommend to the community

  • Enjoy your stay with Tom and Anne
Superbly located with a beautiful park
    Very good welcome
It's quiet with pedestrian bike path nearby
    Separate toilet and shower
    It's all good

  • Nice place! The location is good and the welcome is excellent. It's really top !

  • Great experience.
    Very nice and welcoming place!
    Thank you

  • Beautiful and well maintained grounds. The sanitary facilities are nice

  • Our stay at the homecamper site of Anne and Tom has been a lovely experience. We have enjoyed the hospitable welcome and the quiet of the environment. We felt at home, had a lovely hot shower after a long hike to the falaises des vaches noires & Villers s mer.
We hope to come back some time!

  • For our first Home Camper experience we were not disappointed!
Anne was a perfect hostess! Welcoming, considerate, available.
    A beautiful meeting.
The setting is magnificent in an absolute calm.
Good geographical situation with beautiful hiking trails in the vicinity.
    Clean toilets.
    Everything was perfect!
    We will come back.

  • we spent a pleasant stay, very good reception, host very nice and with the small care
    great setting and very quiet
you can go there without hesitation, we will return

  • It is a haven of peace, a small bench under a weeping willow invites us to dream! Not far from the beach, about 30 minutes on foot, a nice path that goes down to the sea, very good situation and our hosts are welcoming and considerate to make our stay the most pleasant!
    I will definitely come back!
    Thank you Anne and Tom!

  • We spent the night from 31/12 to 01/01 with our van at Tom and Anne C's place, nice, quiet, big space, welcoming people.
We appreciated to be able to shower after a rather sportive walk!
Only drawback, their dog in freedom, at the door of the van, barking on our dogs them attached. This is not the best way to get to know your dog.

  • A corner of Norman paradise, a very warm welcome from Anne, facilities at your disposal and even more! Everything was perfect, including the sun that was willing to show up during the time I spent at Tom and Anne's place ????
I will come back to stop by when I go back to Lille!

  • very quiet and restful place, Anne is charming and very welcoming, beautiful hikes to do, villers and Houlgate nearby by bike or on foot.
    We will come back

  • Excellent reception, very nice location

  • Good reception impeccable ground doyche clean toilet hot water good communication we will return there

  • Very welcoming hosts, quiet place with large grounds, too bad the sanitary facilities are poorly maintained.

  • A great sunny weekend with a very warm welcome as usual

  • Nice lot with lots of room and choices for pitching a tent.
You can set up close to the amenities or farther away, or even hide in the back of the park.
Amenities are centered under the main house.
Note the presence of two toilets.

Anne is charming and always ready to listen.

We loved being able to be almost autonomous when we wanted to and to meet someone to talk to if necessary.

Very close, the town of Villiers sur Mer offers the necessary shops and a very nice beach.

In short. We will come back without hesitation.

    RAS
    Go for it.

  • We spent a good evening and a quiet night in Tom and Anne's beautiful garden. Serene and rejuvenating environment.
    We appreciated this break.
Good idea this garage for the sanitary facilities.
Thanks to you and maybe next time :)
    Good end of season !

  • Anne is a very nice person, welcoming and caring. We have not seen Tom. Super warm welcome. Heavenly place, quiet and restful. Electricity, water, showers, toilets and garbage cans. Fresh eggs from the chickens.
