Description

The 1 ha orchard is set in 27 ha of meadows, woods and moorland, away from busy roads. You can choose to stay close to the buildings for greater comfort (electricity, sanitary facilities, kitchen, barbecue) or choose a more secluded spot to enjoy the wide open spaces and panoramic views. The heather moorland landscape is home to a remarkable array of flora and fauna (butterflies, birds, small mammals, cistudes, carnivorous plants, etc.), so the site is managed in an environmentally-friendly way. You can stroll through the network of paths and trails that wind their way through the property (5 km of maintained paths). For longer explorations, you'll find a network of paths for half-day or full-day trips. Discover the magnificent turquoise lakes of Guizengeard 5 km away, hike around the étang des belettes in Rioux Martin
Rioux Martin 10 km away, or enjoy the cool summer waters of the Dronne 20 km away. You can also join the Tour VTT Sud Charente, 5 km away. If you arrive by bike, I can take care of your catering if we make prior arrangements.
For more cultural visits, you'll find circuits between monolithic churches (Aubeterre, Gurat, Saint Emilion), Romanesque temples and churches with frescoes, drawbridge castles (Chalais) or dolmens... to discover the history of this southern Charente and neighboring Haute Saintonge.
Local produce farms, markets and numerous restaurants in the vicinity will also give you the chance to sample the quality of the local gastronomy.
