Description

The bravos river is 5 miles from the farm down CR 979 to the east - there is an entry point for fishing or a canoe / kayak. You are welcome to self tour the farm and the aquaponic greenhouses. You may request paid private tours in advance of your stay for $75/hr. Calvert, 11 minutes away, has some nice shops for shopping; a few nice places to eat as well. Walker Honey is in Rogers, TX about 30 min from the farm, they have a nice shop for items made with honey and a wine / mead area.

The setting

Primitive Camping - no amenities. Wild life, including wild hogs.

The spots

You are welcome to primitive camp on any part of our farm - your choice.

The sanitary facilities

The amenities

None - this is primitive camping.

The activities

You are welcome to wild harvest, roam the farm on a self tour, rest and enjoy.

Rules

Open and close the front gate coming and going, open or close all gates exactly as you found them, clean up all garbage (plastic sacks are extremely dangerous for the livestock on the farm), do not disturb the farmers on Sunday, ask for help during daylight hours on Mon-Sat (farmers sleep when it is dark and work when it is light). Feel free to self tour the aquaponic facilities, closing and latching the greenhouse doors and greenhouse pasture as you found them, when you come and go from each. Enjoy the peace of our farm.

Extras

Possibility of breakfast ($4 / person)

1 container of 100% grass fed yogurt from our General Store - flavors are vanilla, plain, maple and lemon. We use 100% certified organic maple syrup to sweeten the lemon, maple and vanilla. All yogurt contains live culture.

The general store may be opened by advanced request for your shopping needs or meats, cheeses, dry goods, and other dairy items as available.

We also offer one 30 amp RV hook up at the General Store and 2 Farm Stay Cottages if desired for different rental rates - please email for details.
