Description

In the Parc National de Forêts, at the gateway to the Auberive forest massif, the valley in which our tents are set offers peace and quiet, lush, unspoilt nature...

The setting

A palette of shimmering lights, from dawn to dusk, will enhance your observations of the surrounding wildlife.
Come and discover the National Forest Park, on a donkey trail, by bike or with your backpack.

The spots

Our tents are set on large wooden platforms, nestled in a magnificent valley.
They're all set far apart from each other, to give you the peace and privacy you need to enjoy this privileged environment.
Large outdoor spaces surround each tent.
Each pitch is equipped with a picnic table.
Access is on foot from the parking lot (300m maximum), and we provide handcarts for transporting your belongings.
Near the pitches, you can meet our herd of friendly, yet discreet donkeys.

The sanitary facilities

You'll benefit from a sheltered sanitary area shared by all users of the eco-domain, built as part of a participative project.
Two fully-equipped bathrooms (showers, washbasins, mirrors, wooden lockers, towel racks) and a dishwashing area with hot water are at your disposal.
A private dry toilet is available close to your tent.

The amenities

A sleeping area equipped with 3 beechwood beds (1 4-bed tent) with mattress, sheets, comforter and pillow (bedding included).
A living area with a coffee table and low wooden seats, and a 4 Kw wood-burning stove.
Private outdoor kitchen area, under canvas, with 2-burner gas stove, full set of crockery (kettle and coffee-maker, saucepans, etc.) and cooking utensils.
A separate fridge is available at the site entrance.
A wooden table with benches on the platform.
We provide a hand cart for transporting your belongings.
You'll find electrical outlets in the sanitary area and in the Maison forestière (reception) for recharging your electrical appliances.
WIFI at reception.

The activities

Donkeys can be hired on site to accompany you on your walks and hikes to discover the forest massif.
Indeed, our exceptional location in the National Forest Park makes our site a privileged starting point for hiking (donkey, horse, bike, pedestrian):
stopover point along the GR7, short hiking trails (PR) all around the site. Topographical guides available.
Nature huts built by the Centre d'Initiation à la Nature d'Auberive in the forest.
You can also discover the area's Cistercian past, including Auberive Abbey.

You can also explore the city of Langres, with its famous ramparts, museums and 4 lakes, where you'll find supervised swimming, canoeing, paddle-boarding, pedal-boating, windsurfing...

Other things

Important information: To stay in our accommodation, you'll need to pay an annual membership fee to the Ligue de l'enseignement de Haute-Marne, a popular education association that runs the project. At the time of booking, you will be asked for an arrival time. Any delay must be announced. Please confirm arrival time within 48 hours of arrival.
Check-out time: between 10 and 11 am.
Please let us know in case of early departure.

Departure:
We ask you to leave the site as clean as possible and to return the equipment to the place indicated.

Minors:
Minors are not authorized to stay alone on the site.
All groups must be represented by an adult designated as a tenant and responsible as such. This person will declare the organized stay in due form.

Respect for the site and the environment:
We ask you to respect the rules of safety and the environment:
- No logging in the nearby forest. We provide wood boxes for stoves. Fires are strictly forbidden.
- Respect for facilities: tents, furniture, platforms, toilets, fences.
- Respect the donkeys on site: don't feed them, don't frighten them, don't enter the enclosures, keep dogs on a leash.
- Respect for livestock grazing in the surrounding enclosures: do not enter enclosures, keep dogs on a leash.
- Respect for wild animals: keep a safe distance to avoid disturbing their peace and quiet, and keep dogs on a leash.
- No picking: many plants are rare or even protected on our territory. For mushrooms, respect the regulations in force (National Park).

Damage :
Any loss or damage to equipment will be billed at purchase price.

Vehicles and traffic on the site:
Motorized traffic is not permitted on the ecodomain. Cars must be parked in the parking lot behind the forest house or alongside the main road. Handcarts are available to take your belongings into the tents or to run errands. They are your responsibility during your stay.

Smoking:
Smoking is strictly forbidden in the tents. Tobacco must be consumed outside the tents, and extinguished cigarette butts must be disposed of in the garbage cans.

Pets:
Pets are not allowed in our tents. Donkeys and dogs do not mix well. Dogs must be kept on a leash or tethered. They must not bother the neighborhood or other guests by disturbing behavior (rambling, barking, excrement, etc.).

Valuables :
We recommend that you do not leave valuables in tents or vehicles.

Insurance and civil liability:
The tenant must be insured with a well-known insurance company against the risks of theft, fire and other damage, both for rental risks and for the rented furniture, as well as for recourse from neighbors, and must provide proof of this at the first requisition of the managers. Consequently, the manager declines all responsibility for the recourse that his insurance company could exercise against his tenant in the event of a claim.
