These majestic white chalk cliffs have become a mecca for French tourism. But Étretat is also a seaside resort of great fame. Guy de Maupassant, Maurice Leblanc, Offenbach, Monet, Gide lived there. Stroll along the beach, go up the cliffs to the Notre-Dame de la Garde chapel, the monument dedicated to Nungesser and Coli who tried to cross the Atlantic in 1927 aboard the Oiseau Blanc, continue the hike to the aiguille de Belval or the cliffs of Aval with its large arch, its needle and further on the Manneporte... So many breathtaking landscapes from which Monet was inspired.
With the children, take the train from Etretat station to Les Loges and go back down by bike-rail, pedal hard, a good time guaranteed! And near the city center, on the heights, at the Valaine Farm, spend a moment with the goats before tasting some specialties.
