These majestic white chalk cliffs have become a mecca for French tourism. But Étretat is also a seaside resort of great fame. Guy de Maupassant, Maurice Leblanc, Offenbach, Monet, Gide lived there. Stroll along the beach, go up the cliffs to the Notre-Dame de la Garde chapel, the monument dedicated to Nungesser and Coli who tried to cross the Atlantic in 1927 aboard the Oiseau Blanc, continue the hike to the aiguille de Belval or the cliffs of Aval with its large arch, its needle and further on the Manneporte... So many breathtaking landscapes from which Monet was inspired.
With the children, take the train from Etretat station to Les Loges and go back down by bike-rail, pedal hard, a good time guaranteed! And near the city center, on the heights, at the Valaine Farm, spend a moment with the goats before tasting some specialties.
Nearby, discover the Ferme des Falaises and its animals in St Jouin de Bruneval or the Ecomusée de la pomme et du cidre and the Vitrine du lin in Bretteville du Grand Caux.
Fécamp, 20 minutes away by car, has remained an authentic town with its port and fishermen's houses. Go up to the Cap Fagnet, discover the chapel of the Virgin dominating all Fécamp from the top of the cliff. Visit the Benedictine Palace, where Benedictine is produced from 27 plants and spices.
Le Havre, 50 minutes away, offers you a multitude of activities, shopping at the Docks Vauban, nautical and outdoor activities on the beach, cultural activities with the Muma (Malraux museum), the Perret show apartment, the shipowner's house, the Priory of Graville...
