Description

In the heart of a mid-mountain village renowned for its hiking, biking and motorcycling, we have been welcoming you since 2017 on the banks of the Raddon river, in a vast plot of land whose calm, vegetation and facilities ensure everyone's rest and privacy.

Close to La Planche des Belles Filles, our village is regularly crossed by the Tour de France riders. Come and discover the charm of the Vosges Saônoises. We look forward to meeting you!

The setting

In the Parc Naturel Régional des Ballons des Vosges and the Pays des Mille Étangs, we look forward to welcoming you to our verdant setting.
You'll be lulled to sleep by the trickle of water, as the site is crossed by a first-category river (private watercourse). The two camping areas are linked by a private bridge that spans the bed of the Raddon: you're at "Le Pont du Bas"!

Depending on your preferences, there are shady and sunny areas.
Your evenings are spent around the campfire (special pitches and wood provided at your discretion).

The goats and chickens will be delighted you've come...
A few squirrels will also spy on you, and you can watch kites and goshawks. Herons dip their feet in the morning to stalk trout and crayfish....

The spots

The first area is for motorhomes, vans and caravans. It comprises two pitches (numbers 1 and 2 on the plan, 100 m2 each and not adjoining), one of which is stabilized for heavy vehicles up to 5 tons. It's located between the river and the departmental road, which sees very little traffic: our village is not on a transit route. This road is regularly used by the Tour de France during the stages at La Planche des Belles Filles, which has become a Tour classic with 6 finishes in the last 10 editions. On stage days, you'll have a front-row seat...

A second area, further back in the forest, is ideal for tents, with three pitches numbered 3 to 5 on the map.
Number 3 is the largest (100 m2), the closest to the sanitary facilities and slightly sloping.
Number 4 is also very spacious (90 m2), close to the children's play area and slightly sloping.
Number 5 is the "smallest" at 60 m2, but is closest to the dining area and has no slope. It is also the most intimate, being the furthest from the house.

In all cases, the terrain is flat and you'll be camping right on the water's edge. The pitches are all away from the house and out of sight, thanks to the dense vegetation.

New for 2024: you can rent a fully-equipped cabin for up to 4/5 people. Another advert is available on homecamper for this rental.

The sanitary facilities

Permanent access to independent sanitary facilities (1 shower with hot water and 1 WC: see photos), and to a room with sink and hot water (dishes, small toilet, small laundry...). There is a seat reducer for children. These facilities are cleaned daily.

Motorhomes and caravans: waste water can be emptied as long as it is taken to the outside sanitary facilities (with a can, for example, as there is no drain grate on the ground). You can also empty your chemical toilet cassettes into the toilet.

The amenities

Free WiFi throughout the site, code displayed on site.

A small shelter is available to all campers near the "tents" area (see photos): it allows you to cook and eat in the shade (or in the dry!) in all circumstances. It is equipped with a table and benches, and is extended by an awning (see photos) to easily cover a table and benches (supplied) for up to 12 people.

If you need a 2-burner camping stove (gas at your expense in this case), and a rechargeable lantern for your evenings out.

In the sink room, the occupants of the three tent pitches share an 80cm refrigerator. A microwave oven and kettle are also available.

Most of the interior and exterior lighting is automatic, making it easy to get around in the evening (email hidden)Salt, pepper, barbecue and tongs are available, but we ask you to bring your own crockery and cooking utensils.

Electricity at no extra charge in the first area: CEE (P17) 16A "camping" type sockets. We advise you to bring a 20-meter extension cord.
No electricity in the second area: however, a shelf with a multi-socket outlet is available for recharging your mobile devices, near the sink area.

The activities

Cycling and hiking in the Land of a Thousand Ponds. The region is also very popular with motorcyclists. In all cases, we can advise you on the most beautiful itineraries.
We offer you a display of tourist brochures, updated in collaboration with the various local tourist offices.

* On site :
We leave topographical maps with detailed itineraries/hiking suggestions on the maps, for all levels of difficulty and duration.
Fishing (fario trout with map between March and September, crayfish).
Children's playground (swing with tree house and small outdoor games, 30-metre zip line in July and August).
Relax by the river, in the sun or shade. For children's and adults' water fights: a large arsenal of water pistols is available, with the river providing unlimited ammunition ;D.
Electrically-assisted bikes for hire (arrange with a professional) and delivery on site.
Campfire (designated area, wood provided at your discretion, just remember the guitar and marshmallows).
Our goats and chickens will also keep you entertained...
All summer long, a variety of craft beers are available for tasting: depending on the opportunity, you can also try your (email hidden)Nearby:
La Planche des Belles Filles winter/summer resort 15 minutes away (by car): signposted hiking trails (in particular to the Ballon d'Alsace), accro'branche trails, mountain biking, trail running, tubbing, "roll'herbe" scooters on grass, picnic tables, snack bar...

Belfort is a 30-minute drive away, and Vauban's fortifications and Bartholdi's famous Lion are well worth a visit.

Luxeuil-les-Bains, with its picturesque architecture and thermal baths for a wellness cure, the Abbey of Saint Colomban, the archaeological remains of the Ecclesia and the Pluralies music festival at the end of July, is also a 30-minute drive away, as are the Roman thermal baths at Plombières les Bains.

Ronchamp, the Notre Dame du Haut chapel (architect Le Corbusier), the Renzo Piano convent and the mine museum are a 15-minute drive away, as is its ROAFF music festival in June.

Château Lambert and the mountain museum are also 15 minutes away. The Ballon d'Alsace is 40 minutes away.
Site du Malsaucy (Eurockéennes de Belfort in early July) 20 minutes away.

Ballastières lake 15 minutes away, supervised bathing in summer. La Praille municipal swimming pool (not covered) in Melisey (10 mins) and river swimming. Miellin and Saut de l'Ognon waterfalls 15 minutes away.

The Plateau des Mille Étangs and its magnificent landscapes for walks.

Canoeing: from Villersexel (30mn by car).

Paragliding above Fresse and other nearby sites: we can put you in touch with the organizers.

Montbéliard 50 minutes away: the Château des Ducs de Wurtemberg, the Peugeot Museum, the Pavillon des Sciences...

Amusement parks: Europapark and Fraispertuis 1h30 away.

* Shopping :
In the village (15 mn walk from the site, 2mn by car), "Proxi Alimentation" open Thursday to Tuesday, bread and pastries on site. The village center can be reached on foot via a small forest path.
In Melisey (8km from the site), Colruyt supermarket open daily.
In Lure (18km from the site), Leclerc and Intermarché hypermarkets open daily, shopping zones.

Other things

600m altitude and continental climate: summer days are often very hot and nights can be rather cool, so equip yourself accordingly! It's also worth noting that morning dew is abundant on river banks at all times of the year.

On the two pitches in the first area, which are stabilized for heavy vehicles with stones, it may be difficult or even impossible to install a canvas shelter (awning, additional tent...) by driving stakes into the ground.

The site is open from May 1 to September 30 (May, June and September: weekends only, from Friday to Monday). Outside these dates we offer a limited opening of the site, for vans and motorhomes only (see other announcement).

Safety conditions and the capacity of our filtration system do not allow us to offer you access to our swimming pool.

Rules

Essentially, common sense... and good humor!
Access to the site without going through our gate: you're on your own, with no specific entry or exit times during your stay.

But there are a few rules we've developed over the years:

* Beginning and end of stay: arrival after 3pm, departure before 1pm.
* Please consult us if you wish to bring your furry friend: for the sake of our aging pooch, we can no longer accept large male dogs... that's the way it is!
* Use of children's play equipment under the supervision and responsibility of an adult, same for play in the river.
* Campfire: this is a communal area for all campers. Please supervise your children when a fire is lit.
* Tyrolean traverse accessible to children only (max 60kg), in July and August: safety rules are explained to you once, and subsequent use is your responsibility.
* Do not leave your personal belongings in the communal areas (shower, sink area).
* We cannot lend our washing machine.

The site is large, but we limit our capacity to 12 people for the well-being of all. Under certain conditions, this capacity can be increased for a single group: please contact us.

Families welcome! 10€ per night for the first person, 8€ per night for subsequent persons aged 13 and over. Children aged 4 to 12: €6 per night - Children under 4: free. Excluding Homecamper commission and insurance.

  • For a first experience with HomeCamper, we found a great host, on a beautiful plot bordered by a stream. Josselin is very welcoming, smiling and accommodating. I highly recommend him!

  • A short family getaway with a 10-year-old child for two nights.
We were very well received, and Josselin gave us a guided tour of his haven of peace, which was great!
There's a whole range of equipment available for tents, which is very useful. A thunderstorm blew in over our heads and we were sheltered and dry enough to eat, play cards (available) and still have a great evening.
It's all in the details with Josselin and Stéphanie, and we look forward to coming back, just for a relaxing weekend away from home!
Take the time to enjoy a good craft beer ????.

Thanks for having us, see you soon, we hope to be back very soon.

Sabine, Christopher and Jack (he absolutely wants to come back for the tyro!!)

  • Like last year, a two-night stopover at Stéphanie and Josselin's on our way back from vacation, and once again a restful, relaxing stay... impeccable! Nothing is missing in this little haven of peace.
Thank you both for the quality of your welcome and facilities, and for the attention you pay to those who stay with you.
    See you next year ;)

  • Many thanks to Josselin for his welcome and advice!
We were delighted, with our 2 daughters and our dog, to enjoy this place so well thought out and fitted out for the comfort of its travelers.
Looking forward to his new tiny house project ☺️

  • Very good experience at Fresse, very warm welcome from Josselin and a beautiful place with shade and sun, a pleasant little river and very clean sanitary facilities. Evenings by the fire. Lots of nice walks in the area. Recommended!

  • Very nice place with a warm welcome. Highly recommended! Sharing the common areas is impeccable and Josselin is always on hand to take care of us if we need anything. Thank you for a great stay in the Saône Vosgienne!

  • Many thanks to Stephanie and Josselin for their warm welcome and availability.
A very good address for campers looking for peace and comfort away from the usual campsites.
Everything is well thought out, clean and functional, and the description corresponds well to the facilities available.
Thanks again for your warm welcome.

  • Had a very pleasant stay with Stéphanie and Josselin

  • Despite a shortened stay due to the weather, we appreciated Josselin's warm welcome. Everything has been thought of to make the camper's life easier. Very well organized, Josselin provided everything for a pleasant stay (hiking maps, etc.).

  • Apart from the Rain, an amazing Camp!

  • Despite (very) bad, cold and rainy weather, we had an excellent 7-night stay at "Camping le Pont du Bas". Extra warm welcome, great infrastructure, rejuvenating setting and a region that's well worth the effort.
The little extras we appreciated: family camping with a limited number of campers, a shelter for eating and cooking, the fire and bbq, the zip line, the clean, independent toilets and showers, the fridge and Josselin's discovery tips!
In short, this is a campsite I'd recommend to anyone looking for a quiet spot.
We'll be back with the sun to enjoy the river too!
Thanks to Josselin and his family!

  • Excellent welcome, pleasant stay, very friendly village.
The only small complaint is that we were on the side of a road that's not very busy, but we woke up in the morning.
The owners take great care of their guests. We recommend this home camper.

  • Thank you to Josseline and Stephanie for their warm welcome, to see you again

  • This is a beautiful place to stay, really fantastic. Highly recommend!

  • The site, between sun and shade, bordered by forest and stream, is simply sublime. The kindness, welcome, thoughtfulness and availability of the hosts is second to none. Everything is done so that campers can enjoy this place in the best possible conditions. There are plenty of facilities on site (fridge, washing-up area, shelter, etc.) and the smallest details have been anticipated so that campers lack for nothing. Thanks again for this great getaway!

  • A pleasant weekend with Stéphanie and Josselin, very friendly and welcoming hosts. Lovely natural setting, worth a try if you want to spend some quiet time.

  • Thank you very much

All the facilities are functional and well maintained.

    lots of space
    great amenities
    Discretion and availability

  • Very good stay with Stéphanie and Josselin. The site for the tents is quiet in nature on the banks of a small stream. A warm welcome, and everything you need is at your disposal.

  • And in the middle flows a river
Our hosts welcomed us in a green setting, crossed by a small river
Personalized welcome with a name card! classy!
Perfectly suited to tents, vans and camping cars
What happiness; thank you Nicole & Alain

  • I stayed here for a couple of nights so I could do some cycling and all I can say is what a fabulous campsite.
The owner takes so much pride in the upkeep and everything is accounted for It really is one of the best campsites I have stayed at.
Upon arrival I was shown the facilities and given a tour of the site and even introduced to the goats.
It really is an exceptional campsite and very good value for money.

  • Thank you Josselin and Stéphanie for this very pleasant stay that we spent with you. We felt very relaxed in this beautiful place of nature at the edge of the river. Josselin is very attentive to his guests. He shared with us his region, hikes, museums and precious advices for the small restaurants of the area!
We will come back with great pleasure.
    Brigitte and Camille

  • We spent a very pleasant stay at Stéphanie and Josselin's place, a nice welcome and an address that I recommend...
In addition to this quiet and very nice place you will find a few minutes away from magnificent waterfalls and many hiking trails ...
    Marie-Hélène and Alain...

  • Reception with the small care in spite of a breakdown of car. At the top. See you next time.

  • I just can say the camping was exactly what I wish for. Small, "not much" (in positive way!)- like camping in someones garden, quit, all you need... The owner is very gentle and speaks perfect English, even though I start learning French I was delighted we could speak English. There's 1 toilet and 1 shower and I loved how they decorated it. It's typical a camping for those who love camping, but not on the busy campings were you're almost in each others space.
Thanks for the service and chats we had.

  • We had an unforgettable stay with Stéphanie and Josselin. Not only was their site perfectly laid out for the comfort of the camper, but their advice allowed us to discover the region in a way we could not have done otherwise. Thanks to them for their generosity and their sharing !

  • A single night which calls for others... very pleasant welcome, Stéphanie and Josselin are very attentive to their visitors. Everything is clean, as advertised, their land is a little haven of peace. Do not hesitate to go there. Thanks to them !!!

  • For this stay, one word to start and summarize: exceptional! A naturally beautiful place, made magical by the facilities designed for our comfort. First of all, the stabilized site for our camping car, on the roadside but with so little traffic. The sanitary facilities are top notch, the campfire for a nice moment with the other campers by the river, the little quiet corners in the shade and cool even during the heat wave, the games for the children, the zip line !... and the kindness and availability of Josselin. We need a table, he brings it to us, we need a chair, ditto !... Thank you both for sharing this magnificent place with your visitors whom you know how to pamper. See you soon, because we will certainly come back to Fresse !

  • We had a good stay in a quiet place on a large plot. There is nothing lacking for campers on site.
Nearby there are many activities for children and lovely walks.
Ideal for lovers of the outdoors and nature!

  • It was a veray pleasant stay at this very clean and lovely organized place. I felt welcome an would come again

  • For a first home-camping experience, we were delighted! The sympathy and kindness of Stéphanie and Josselin, the calm and the setting which are just magnificent, the arrangements made by Josselin, the nice camping neighbors, all the conditions were gathered to spend a great stay. We will definitely return! There are only 5 stars for the evaluations and I'm going to add a sixth one as I really enjoyed my stay! Good luck to Stéphanie and Josselin and see you soon I hope.

  • Awesome experience, great and calm place, Josselin and Stéphanie are very hospitable. We like to come back!

  • What a great experience !!! We discovered the HomeCamper concept and the region at Stéphanie and Josselin's and we were wonderfully welcomed. Josselin is very attentive, he is available and always ready to share his good tips. The place is impeccably clean and the services offered are functional. A big thank you to them...

  • It's the fourth year we've come to enjoy our vacation and recharge our batteries at Stéphanie and Josselin's place. This place is a small corner of paradise which every year is improved, embellished,... we feel good there! Ideal with children (games, river, tyrolean, sanitary facilities/kitchen at the top,...), the whole charmed by an incredible welcome!
As we say every time for 4 years now... it was not the last time we passed by Fresse!
See you soon, and from the bottom of our hearts... Thank you!

  • It was so beautiful in Fresse! We actually only wanted to stay one night, but like last time, we stayed longer - it's always hard to leave! Thank you for all the good things you do for your guests - the good beer, the zip line, your adorable animals, your listening ear and your friendliness! We look forward to our next stop with you! Warm greetings from Janko too, he really enjoyed the time with his new four-legged friend!
    Best wishes,
    Anne, Jörg and the children

  • A lovely little site, the facilities are basic but this is all part of the charm. The site is complete with resident goats and chickens and on the banks of a small stream. Stephanie and Josselin are wonderful hosts.
We loved our 3 days here.

  • Our (our short) stay in Stéphanie and Josselin's little paradise went very well, thank you again for the welcome, the setting and all the little details that make life easier !

  • A great stay! Everything was perfect! A great welcome, a nice place for our camper, the exchange around a very good beer ... only one hurry, it is to return!

  • Beautiful meeting in a very nice and quiet place at the water's edge. Josselin and Stephanie take it very seriously and their welcome is of very good quality...everything is done so that you spend a very good stay. I strongly recommend you but I think that in the summer you will have a hard time to get a place...it's on even...well, try anyway ???? Josselin can do a VAE manager of camping..with mention very well..top

  • We were warmly welcomed, the owners are very friendly. There are beautiful walks to do, with the good advice of Josselin.
To note, Josselin is a master brewer of excellent craft beers.
We advise all camper van drivers to stay at Stéphanie and Josselin's place, the setting is very pleasant.

  • Very good welcome, very clean and beautiful place. Thank you for the aperitif, we will come back with pleasure.

  • Very good reception of the adorable people, very beautiful place with all the conveniences we advise it to all those which will make a stopover towards Fresse

  • In a natural setting full of flowers, we enjoyed the calm and the autumnal softness.
Don't miss the delicious srtisanal beers made by Josselin.
Everything is clean, practical and functional.
Congratulations to Stéphanie and Josselin for this little corner of paradise and especially a big thank you. Isabelle and Jean-Jacques.

  • We had a pleasant stay. Beautiful setting, very friendly welcome, very clean grounds and sanitary facilities. We recommend you the craft beer of Josselin!!!!
Maybe add a dry toilet in a corner at the end of the field...
In short, we loved it ...

  • A pleasant stay !
We even prolonged our stay so much that we felt good there.
We will return there with pleasure
    See you soon
    Evelyne and Frederic
