Amber Springs offers a secluded, private getaway from the city. This site will appeal to novice and seasoned campers, nature lovers, and those just wanting some solitude in a beautiful old-growth forest just 1.15 hours from Edmonton, Alberta.
The setting
We are offering a single secluded camp stall located on privately owned, heritage old-growth forest of 80 acres located in a confluence of boreal, parkland and foothills biomes, in the protected headwaters of the Battle Lake watershed. It is 1.5km off Highway 13 and generally very quiet.
The spots
The camp site is located immediately off the main private road into the property, surrounded by tall trees which provide shade most of the day. There is a pad for a single tent, and the site itself can accommodate most RV's and motorhomes.
The sanitary facilities
There is a dedicated outhouse located within walking distance of the camp site. Drinkable water is also located close to the camp site.
The amenities
No power is provided, but there is a shop nearby for phone charging. No shower facilities. This is a real camping experience for the enthusiast and seasoned camper alike.
The activities
Area amenities included Battle Lake, which is great for bird watching and canoeing, Twin Lakes for swimming and diving, and Pigeon Lake for general recreational activities, including Provincial Park beaches.
The Village at Pigeon Lake has a grocery store, liquor store, gas station and other services.
Falun, 20 minutes to the east on Highway 13, has a Co-op gas station, hardware store and some grocery items.
Other things
There is a picnic table, a few chairs, and fire pit. No pets please. No parties please, guests are limit to 4 persons total. Cell phone access is limited to 1-2 bars 3G or 4G for most providers.
Please also respect that this is private property. There are walking trails in the woods, however camping activities are restricted to the camp site. There is also a very friendly dog.
