Sandra S.Hello everyone, we were there for six days. If you are not too demanding (keyword: sanitary facilities) and just want to spend a quiet and beautiful time in nature, it is the perfect place. We had initially booked only three days and even extended and will certainly come back again. The restaurant has delicious food and local drinks. Second time this year Marion and I spent a short vacation (5 nights over our birthdays) with Janine and Anton in campdolmar with our trailer roof tent. It was again wonderful days with quiet but also eventful moments. Highly recommended location for pilots and campers! We will come again.

In summary: We have experienced a wonderful week of vacation with Janine and Anton. And this after decades as a re-entry, ie newcomers, in the field of camping.
Janine, always helpful and calm and friendly in all situations, had already told me when booking by mail and also by personal call, that the two weekend days could be a little fuller and louder due to the airfield festival. On the contrary, since I am interested in technology, it was very interesting for me - and the pilots also form rather a quiet community. On the one hand, we had a feeling of "pure nature" with our campsite (we have a folding tent on a car trailer), since the airfield and campsite are located quite remotely on a slope of the Dolmar mountain. From there you have a fantastic distant view and in good weather (as we fortunately had), a wonderful sunset and sunrise. On the other hand, there are the amenities such as electricity (laugh - I also got the operation explained by Janine, since I did not know it as a newcomer) and clean sanitary facilities with toilet and shower. Either you can supply yourself with drinks and food you brought with you (there are very good shopping possibilities in the town of Meiningen, about 8km away) and enjoy your time at the campsite or you can relax in the lounge area or in the beer garden of the airfield restaurant with coffee or a cool drink and you can also get cake or another delicious meal there - we used both extensively. Thank you very much for the nice time. Marion and I have already planned a second stay for this summer. -

However, a tap to tap water is missing, which was already very troublesome with the sink in the bathroom.

Kristina G.We had a great week at the Dolmar Flight School airfield. The surrounding area is great for hiking. If you want to do a sightseeing flight over the region, you are in good hands with Janine & Anton. Our hosts were great, all very nice and always responsive. We will definitely come again!

Christoph H.Admittedly, booking the place was one of our best ideas on the way to the south. The two operators of the place and the flight school are super nice and open-minded. Also with the other people (pilots, flight students, etc.) you could easily get into conversation. With a cool regional beer in the bar, directly on the runway, you can then still watch the girls and guys flying until the sun goes down. It was really very nice.

Peace, nature, distant views, a little air traffic to watch.
Pleasant hosts. Speak the flight instructors.
A sightseeing flight would have been possible. But was not imposed.
The most important infrastructure was available.
Water and electricity. A simple but functioning and clean washroom. The rest you have with you.
Neither I nor the other campers with whom I have talked had really disturbed anything.
Let's put it this way: Neither Federal Garden Show nor champagne reception and mini golf within walking distance at the price.
Long cable and sturdy shoes not forgotten. :-)

We felt very comfortable, especially because the young couple who runs the flight school and the small CP is very friendly.
Adjacent are pastures on which cattle in mother cow / calf husbandry have their place - very nice to watch. -

We have spent 5 days on the site there. Janine and her husband and all the people who do aviation there are very nice. The landscape and the view is really great. Shower and toilet is available. I also made a sightseeing flight which is also possible there. All in all a very successful short trip. We will certainly come there again.

The site is gorgeous, the views and sunsets are fantastic and the proximity to the airfield is something special. The wonderful Janine provides with her helpful, kind and relaxed nature for a great vacation from the first moment. The sanitary facilities are very well maintained. Anja L.If you are looking for a typical German campsite with German flags and everything accurate, you are wrong here. But if you are looking for nature, relaxed togetherness and tranquility, this is the place for you. We were there for 5 days and enjoyed every second. The hosts are very nice and the restaurant on the premises should not be neglected with a very nice inn couple :)

A very quiet place, with deeply relaxed people, during the day always takes off or lands a small plane, there you always have something to look at. At night a beautiful starry sky and common campfire... Toilets and shower available, in the bistro you can eat dinner, there are even dumplings. We will come back 100%!
