Description

Large garden nestled near all amenities.

Nature, space, air, time.
A real little corner of biodiversity.

The sound of the wind in the leaves of the trees and the sound of the bells bring a country atmosphere.

The setting

A hiker/cyclist's paradise.
The marshes and the canal of Carentan, very close, are appreciated places to walk.
GR 223 and greenway nearby (direction Utah beach/le Mont Saint Michel).

We are nevertheless near many shops accessible on foot (supermarket, gas station H24, bakeries, restaurants, aquatic center, ...) so yes there are also city noises (including in the night).

The spots

Shady or sunny corners.
Under a tree or near a hedge.
As you wish.
Completely flat spaces are rare but the orchard is large.
You will have the choice of your location.

The sanitary facilities

Day and night access to a shower (solar hot water), washbasin, separate toilet (inside, to be shared, but accessible 24 hours a day).

The amenities

WiFi code.
Possibility to leave your laptop to charge.
A garden extension cord is available if needed.

Drinking water. Sink large enough to wash dishes.
Microwave oven. Kettle. Toaster. An electric hotplate.

Clothes racks.
Washing machine and dryer (free price and full consciousness).

Deckchairs, tables and garden chairs at your disposal.

The activities

A good place to observe nature (butterflies, bees, frogs, fish, dragonflies, various birds, and more rarely, deer, rabbits, foxes, hedgehogs, storks,...). Noah's Ark of fruit trees and plants with therapeutic virtues (please ask for advice before use - there are also some toxic plants).

Directly accessible by foot/bike:
Maison des Ormes.
La Rosée du Soleil.
Port of Carentan and its bridge-canal.
Access to greenways/GR223.
Historical center (old wash house, town hall, arches, Notre-Dame de Carentan church) + Tourist Office + Post Office/Banks + all shops + market on Monday morning.
Aquadick aquatic center (swimming pools + sauna, steam room, cardio).
Canoe/kayak club.
Dreknor, replica of a Viking ship.
Escape Game Carentan Le Blockhaus.

Easily accessible by car - possibly by bike:
Maison du Parc.
Baie des Veys, pointe de Brévands.
Mont Castre.
Utah Beach.
D-Day museums (Victory Museum at 5min, D-Day Experience at 15min, Airborne Museum and Utah Beach Landing (email hidden)Les Délices d'Antain, a local organic ice cream shop.

Accessible by car (less than 1h):
St-Vaast-la-Hougue.
Cherbourg.
Barneville-Carteret.
Portbail.
Pointe du (email hidden)Bayeux at 30min (Tapestry+Cathedral+old Bayeux).

La Hague is 1h15 by car (Port Racine, Goury lighthouse, Vauville castle garden, La Maison du Tourp...).

The Mont-Saint-Michel is accessible during the day but it is necessary to count 1h30 of car to go then to return (paying parking on the spot).

It is better to book online for the crossing to the island of Tatihou via St Vaast La Hougue. Further north, the small fishing village of Barfleur and the view from the lighthouse of Gatteville are worth a visit. Further south of St Vaast, the Biscuiterie artisanale de Quinéville is known for its home-made pastries and cookies.

Bike rental :
1) Cycles des Marais, Carentan
2) Camping Le Haut Dick, Carentan
3) La Maison du Parc, St Côme-du-Mont (7 days a week during the summer, with marked bicycle paths)

  • Short and Simple: This is the best Homecamper place I have ever visited!! Reorganize your trip and visit this place! You have to!!!

  • Very nice stay and great communication with Elise and Johann. The garden is lovely and everything is made to make you feel home !

  • Great experience, do it again ????

  • Such a charming house and warm welcome. Thank you so much for everything!
    ????????????????????

  • Warmly recommended:
The garden is a haven of peace, with plenty of nooks and crannies, cool and relaxing. The facilities (shower, toilet...) are clean and independent from the rest of the house. And Elise and Johann are friendly and attentive. They know the area well and know how to inform you and guide you according to your tastes. They will direct you to the best bakery (right next door) for gourmet breakfasts, outings, visits, restaurants... There is some noise during the second part of the night when Leclerc (next door, very convenient) is stocked. But this noise is annoying in contrast with the peace of the garden. The earplugs help a lot. In any case, I recommend to put up with this inconvenience to be able to enjoy all the good aspects. I warmly recommend it.

  • Small haven of bucolic peace where it is good to put its tent ????
The vegetable garden will answer your greediness.
Hosts reactive, welcoming, generous with whom it is pleasant to share a moment.
    See you soon I hope

  • Elise is very concerned about the well-being of the kids and does everything to make their stay a great one! A big thank you for this really warm welcome.

  • What a pleasure to stay with Elise! She has managed to create a real haven of peace in a rather urban environment. She loves to share her love for the fauna and flora. She was very helpful in organizing our stay. Thank you for everything!

  • Comment with a little delay
But I'm sticking to it as promised.
I spent a pleasant "little" stay at Elise's
The garden is large and wooded, sun or shade for the tent according to your preference.
There are beautiful trees and other plants in the garden, Elise will visit you with great pleasure and with a little luck you can even taste some fruits of the garden 200% Natural.
The shower is really great, we don't want to leave it anymore ;)
Élise loves to talk, we could have talked for hours but I had to get back on the road.
    Thanks again to you
    See you soon
