We are animal friendly and welcoming you and your dog(s). We don't charge extra for your dogs to stay, but they cannot be here unattended. We offer "dog sitting" while you are in the park - just enquire about possible dog car when requesting to book.
The setting
This listing is for the Upper Bunkhouse campsite - which has an even better view of Ash mountain, Moro Rock and the snow capped Sierra mountains than our main house does! This campsite is on the same level as our host home and the shared bathroom, located on the other side of the bunkhouse. The outdoor shower - almost complete - is located on the lower Corral campsite level. This campsite also includes the use of a huge deck! It has it's own propane BBQ & BBQ cooking utensils, a picnic table and garbage can.
The spots
This site allows a maximum of 4 people. There is plenty of space to either pitch your tents on the flat ground or up on the huge deck! This upper bunkhouse campsite has the best view & less shade.
The sanitary facilities
There is a private free-standing bathroom that is shared by this campsite and the lower corral campsite. It has a proper flushing toilet that is slow filling from a gravity feed. There is a cold water sink, a wall mirror and various hooks and shelves for your convenience. We provide toilet paper (ok to flush), paper towels (put in garbage can only, please!), liquid hand soap, and a lined & lided garbage can for sanitary product disposal.
The amenities
This campsite also includes the use of a huge deck! It has it's own propane BBQ & BBQ cooking utensils, a picnic table and garbage can. The BBQ even has a side burner for regular cooking.
There is no electricity available. Wifi is spotty at the campsite; but works closer to our host house.
The activities
Three Rivers is a gateway town to the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National parks. Located just 2 miles from the park entrance and 4 miles from town, we are very conveniently located! The giant Sequoia trees are not to be missed and there are some wonderful hiking trails up in the parks!
Also, there is local BLM land where you can bring your dog with you! Dogs are allowed into the park with you, but are not allowed on ANY trails in the parks, so they will have to stay in the car.
Seasonal river rafting is available April - June (this year through July!). Otherwise Lake Kaweah is a lovely place to swim, fish or go boating.
There is local horseback riding available.
