Description

This is a great location with many activities and sites to see within a half hours drive. Mesa Verde Park entrance is about 25 minutes to the west and the Silverton train leaves out of Durango to Silverton daily. Pagosa hot Springs is an hour and half drive or you can enjoy trimble hot springs in Durango.

The setting

Land Parcels in this area are mostly large farms with a few 35 acre tracts. Stars are the brightest you've ever seen, nights are a little cool even in the summer. (I have been hosting guests in my cabins on vacation rental platforms for several years) Most of my guests enjoy a hike, catch crawdad's from the creek, roast marsh mellows over the fire, and leave here with memories they'll never forget.

The spots

We have various sizes and locations of camp sites available - some down by the creek - some in the canyon (without water) that are slightly developed and many areas you can pioneer your own spot. RV Spots are more limited due to the terrain and being able to get off the path - These are located in the valley with a gorgeous view of the La Plata Mountains, some shade trees- across the road from the cafeteria and bon fire pit.

The sanitary facilities

There is a creek that runs year round with clean water and a few outhouses in the camping areas. You are pretty much on your own with campers rvs and tents.

The amenities

I do rent cabins which have full amenities including hot water, power, wifi ect. Camper's, Tenter's and RVer's may utilize wifi in the cafeteria, and outhouses provided in camp spots, supply their own power/water/ect and must have self contained solid/liquid waste.

The activities

Turning Beyond Ranch facilitates groups and activities. Let us know the occasion, how many you need to accommodate, what activities you would like, date of event, how much you would like to spend? Occasions I can host- Weddings, Reunions, Gals/Guys weekend get away-Youth Camps - What's your Occasion? Activities I can plan for you - paint ball -bike ride- day hike (1/2 or whole day)-- Pampering with Massage therapist - Manicures - Wine Tasting ( Need at least 6 participants)

Rules

In the summer fire hazard is higher depending on the amount of moisture we receive. During these times, we reserve the right to restrict camp fires and always ask you to be responsible with your smoking habits. Although we usually have no issue with noise and haven't felt the need to set times at night for quiet but certainly appreciate your courtesy of other guest especially in the evening. Turning Beyond Ranch is the home of many wild animals including bear and mountain lions. We ask that you keep an eye on your children and know where and what they are doing.
