Description

It's an area of 1980m2 with carob and wild mastic trees and olive groves, 5 km from the town of Tavira in southern Portugal.

Electricity option: 3 EUR/day
Water supply option: 6 EUR/day

The setting

The N270 passes right next to us, which can be noisy in the mornings and evenings, especially in summer. The A22 freeway is 400 m away, so if the wind is favorable you can also hear the traffic. The garden is not walled, so campers should keep their belongings safe. In summer, the ground is rock-hard and the heat is dry and dusty, and all the grass is dry and prickly. Summer is not a good season to stay here. The "swimming pool" is a water tank for children.
The house belongs to a 96 year old gentleman who will evict anyone who doesn`t say hello. Warning made I point out that water is a fragile resource in the Algarve and we will be made to pay by its use and any abuse of consumption noticed, car washing is not allowed.

Situation

  • The hosts were very gentle and kind. The place was a bit of a mess but nothing to worry about. We could use the bathroom and an inside table. Some dogs barked when we entered the garden, as well as when we were moving in the garden during our stay. There was also a rooster who was crowing at 1:30 am and at 4 am.

  • It was an amazing place to stay!! Paulo is super nice and welcoming. The communication was honest and absolutely friendly! I really like staying at his beautiful place :)

  • Paulo and his dad are adorable and so attentive. They are a gem in terms of hospitality. Their land is well located at the top of Tavira. It is necessary to bring a car. The camping place is shady and spacious. Access to the barbecue very appreciable. I highly recommend and a big thank you to Paulo, his dad and Carlos!
