Description

It's a large 70-hectare farm dating back to 1190, and it's a whole mountain, with 6 km of clear (drinking) water and wonderful scenery. You can camp in hundreds of locations that travellers are free to choose from. Or use our hanging tents or safari tents for 5€ plus per person. In a region, the Garrotxa, full of history and beautiful landscapes such as the volcanic zone and the thousand-year-old peoples. The aim is to become an eco-village. The project is vegetarian. You can cook [a la cuisine exterieure de viande et poisson, but we ask you to try to have a vegetarian menu here. No churrascos or barbaqueues accepted. No campfires between May and October.

Es una gran granja de 70 ha que data del año 1190. Es toda una montaña, con 6 km de río de agua clara (y potable) y paisajes maravillososos. Puedes acampar en cientos de lugares que los viajeros pueden elegir libremente. En una zona, la Garrotxa, llena de historia y de bellos paisajes como la zona volcánica o los pueblos milenarios. The setting

It is a calm and quiet place where you will only hear the sound of the birds and the river. You will be far from "civilization" and close to nature. The spots

It's a mountain, but with several completely flat areas that have been farmed since the year 1200. You'll find shade and sun either by the river or at the top. Access to the last km and a half is by 4x4 or on foot. Arrival and departure for stays of 3 nights or more is free with our 4x4. If further trips are required, we charge €10 (20 from Les Preses, 30 from Olot, where there is a (website hidden) bus stop. No trains in the area) per trip. Access with camper vans is impossible, you have to cross 2 rivers. You have to walk 100m from the tents to the house.

If you come by camping car, you can leave it in the parking lot. There is a picnic area at els Pins, 1 km from Sant Privat and 1.5 km from the campsite. You'll have to come on foot. In this case, you pay nothing for your stay. You are welcome to spend the day with us, and to eat here.

Rules

On arrival, it is imperative that there is at least 1 hour of sunlight.
Arrival preferably between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
If you take the tent, we recommend using it only between April and October.
Large library with hundreds of books that can be borrowed to read on site
Smoking allowed outside, without disturbing other people (preferably roll-your-own tobacco, not industrial)
Children love the place, and can touch the 45 animals, which are very well-behaved and calm and used to people (8 cats, 1 dog, 1 sheep, 25 cows and 35 small goats).

    First of all, we were very well welcomed by our host, who took the time to come and pick us up at the parking lot, to show us his land, his old farm (very old even, but just renovated), his numerous pets, so endearing, and his project of ecological farm and autonomous community.
    After having set up our camp on one of the many sites + or - provided for this purpose (either close to the house, or more withdrawn, with a little push on the calves, it's your choice), we went to explore the surroundings.

    On the menu over several half-days and always starting from the site :
    - apprehension of the ground (with, in the heights, terraces which open on the valley and allow to observe the superb lights at the end of the day),
    - descent to the river below the house (so pure, with many natural and isolated pools, ideal to refresh oneself, we saw newts there),
    - visit of the Salt de Sallent (waterfall of more than 100mtr, without much water at the time of our passage, but that one can see from the top, the bottom, the medium, always the mouth open),
    - hike on the plateau of Freixeneda (magnificent views on Catalonia, and the Bores, these volcanic "labyrinths" of a beautiful height and which it is easy to explore)
    - climb to the unguarded refuge of Santa Magdalena del Mont and to Puigsacalm (a mythical summit for the Catalans and perched at 1514 mtr of altitude), if a mountain type hike, with a difference in altitude, does not put you off (approx. 1h30-2h easy to climb to the refuge)

    We didn't see everything of course, but if you wish, Didac will be able to show you all the places that are worth a visit.

    On the other hand, we were able to spend some time to exchange (in any language!) with the few other people present during our stay, and of course with Didac whose culture and ideas are an integral part of the experience in our opinion, and a great good to our little brains calibrated and crammed in this crazy world ;-)
