Description

Twenty years ago, pure chance led me to a piece of land somewhere on the Costa Blanca, that suspiciously resembled a set from 'Once Upon a Time in the West,' one of those films that ranks high in my personal top three. The interplay of fate and the enchantment of the unexpected, precisely that fascinated me immensely. Without a plan I decided to buy the land. I got myself a concrete mixer, some brix and started to stack the stones on top of each other.

So, in the leisurely rhythm of the days, I began building my own finca, an oasis in this sunny film set. Not rushed, without a tightly defined master plan, but steadily, the construction grew under my hands. And after years of thoughtful tinkering, about five years ago, I reached the point where I could comfortably stay there. Luxury had never been my main driving force.

My finca, simple yet infused with the impressions I gathered during my wandering life as a sailor, served as a silent witness to my desire to be one with nature. And so, I decided to plant olive trees as a tribute to the landscape that warmly embraced me. Their green foliage whispered reassuring words, and in their serene presence, I found profound peace.

A tranquil existence, far removed from the hustle and bustle of modern life, that is what this place offers. A life that I wish to share with others who cherish the same yearning for silence and reflection. Hence, the idea emerged to create one, maybe even two, camping spots—a welcoming place for tents and small campers.

The desire to share what I find here, the abundance of serenity, that is the driving force. Offering others the chance to taste the silence, just as I do, and letting them revel in the harmony that this piece of land has to offer.

And so, amidst the olive trees and under the radiant sky of the Costa Blanca, my story continues. No grand plans dictate my course, but the simple wish to share tranquility with those who come by, allowing them to enjoy the timeless beauty that reigns here.Bienvenidos a mi jardín!

The spots

To get to the Finca you have to leave the asphalt road and do 800 meters of dirt road. Take your time and drive slowly. The camping spot is not a neatly manicured, cordoned off with ribbons, perfectly smoothed piece of land. The spot is amidst some pine trees that provide a bit of cooling in the summer. By mutual agreement, you can also set up your tent somewhere else if you prefer.

The activities

Our Finca is excellently located near Alicante (20 km), El Campello Beach (7 km), and vast hiking areas (0 km). The atmosphere is reminiscent of a movie set from "Once upon a time in the West," yet you can reach the village center within a 10-minute drive. Expect not the typical camping vibe, but rather a peaceful environment to relish.

Rules

We would like to share some important guidelines and information with you to ensure that your stay with us is as pleasant as possible:

1 Pets and Children: As our Finca is home to various animals, we kindly ask you to keep your pets under control. Additionally, in this rural setting, it's crucial for children to be under adult supervision at all times to ensure their safety.

2 Respectful Behavior: Respect and responsible behavior are crucial for a pleasant stay on our premises. We expect all guests to show respect for both the facilities and other fellow guests. Coexistence and harmony are the keywords for a delightful experience with us. Please understand the dry climate, and kindly use moist ashtrays if you're a smoker.

3 Sustainability and Amenities: We strive for sustainability in everything we do. We rely on your cooperation to keep the sanitary facilities clean and to use water and electricity mindfully. Wi-Fi is available, and you're welcome to use the kitchen in the house, including its appliances. The common areas are at your disposal, please enjoy them and leave them tidy. The bedrooms are no common areas.

5 Arrival and Departure: Arrivals and departures are possible between 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM and should be arranged in advance through WhatsApp or email. This is also the moment when we send you the precise directions to the Finca.

6 Pool and Outdoor Spaces: The pool invites you like a serene oasis, but its use is at your own risk. Parents hold responsibility for their children. We share the outdoor spaces and request respectful interaction with fellow guests.

7 Electricity and Appliances: We have electricity in our common areas, but as we depend on solar panels, we ask for responsible usage. Small devices like mobile phones can be charged without issue.

8 Pets: Well-mannered pets are welcome, as long as they can peacefully coexist with our own animals.

  • Ah dear Martijn
    It was a little difficult to find but once there, what a paradise.
    Martin is a charming and very interesting host.
    We planted our aunts on a spotless surface. lulled by the crickets, we slept wonderfully.
    We really enjoyed the pool and thanks to access to the large kitchen we were able to cook an excellent meal.
    The amenities are perfectly secluded and spotlessly clean.
    Thank you once again for your warm welcome and the dream stay we had.

    This is a wonderful place. Pictures looks nice on homecamper, but the magic happens when you're on site. Plenty of space to fit your mood. The swimming pool is charming with nice view on the mountains around and comes in handy when it's hot. You can sleep in a quiet environement with just nature around you and still one step for the coast or small villages in the mountains.
    Martijn is as surprising as his house. Funny, resourceful, both friendly and respectful. He has the perfect balance to make you feel good. We had various chat and it was always a pleasure. My two children (15 and 9) were found of him. They had lot of fun too with Martijn.
    Only one regret, that we didn't discover this place sooner. We would have extended for one or two more nights for sure.
    Hope we'll have a chance to come back (children asked for ;:) )

    The setting is just incredible, a real little corner of paradise, everything is available, the pool is warm, the decoration is tasteful. We felt like we were renting an entire house, so large and practical are the common areas.
