Description

In the heart of the Pays de Bray, surrounded by nature, ponies and llamas

The setting

In the middle of nowhere, at the end of a cul-de-sac, our property extends over 8 hectares of hedged meadows surrounding a stone building dating from 1825.
Here you can enjoy a unique experience in Normandy, surrounded by Connemara ponies and a host of wild and domestic animals.

In addition to our ponies and llamas, you may catch a glimpse of roe deer at sunrise, or fox cubs playing in the meadows.

In the warmth of your comforter, after admiring a magnificent sunset, you'll gaze up at the stars on a summer's evening, and fall asleep to the call of the owl!

The spots

Depending on the season, the weather and what you're looking for, you can set up wherever you like: close to the camp for conviviality around the log fire, or high up in the meadows, as close to nature as possible, isolated like a wilderness campsite in the bivouac spirit. In summer, after the haymow, the 3-hectare meadow offers an almost infinite space where you'll be alone in the world!

The sanitary facilities

You'll have access to dry toilets in a dedicated shed.

A solar-powered shower is installed next to the caravan, with the temperature of the water depending on the amount of sunshine!

Water points are available outside.

For sanitary facilities, we supply environmentally-friendly products.

The amenities

Electrical outlets near the stables, extension cords available.
For total disconnection, no WiFi
However, 4G works perfectly (depending on operator).

The activities

Less than an hour from Rouen, Amiens, Dieppe or Beauvais, isolated from the outside world yet close to centers of activity, you'll be staying in a haven of peace.

In the heart of the Pays de Bray, you can sample local produce (spearheaded by Neufchâtel cheese, but not only ...) and discover the Normandy countryside, on foot, on horseback or by bike.
Hiking trails are accessible from the property.
For the more adventurous, the Avenue verte will take you as far as Dieppe, also accessible by car in less than an hour. A fast-growing seaside resort, Dieppe offers a wide range of activities, shops, entertainment, cinema, casino, bars and restaurants, as well as the port, beach and ferry departures to England.
Once in Dieppe, you're not far from Varengeville and its marine cemetery, where Georges Braque is buried, Veules les Roses and its watercress beds, and France's smallest river. Continuing along the Alabaster coast, discover Fécamp and the Benedictine, Etretat and its famous needle, then Le Havre and its hanging gardens.

Cross the magnificent Pont de Normandie and you'll arrive in Honfleur, well worth a romantic stroll, and a little further on, Deauville, Cabourg and the whole of the Côte de Nacre.

Inland, you can visit two of France's most beautiful villages: Gerberoy, less than 40 minutes away, or Lyons la Forêt, surrounded by its magnificent beech forest.

Golf lovers will be delighted by the Saint Saens green, before enjoying a drink or lunch at l'Entrepote, which we recommend.

A 45-minute drive will take you to the heart of Rouen, the city of a hundred bell towers. You'll visit the cathedral, illuminated every summer with a son et lumière show, the Joan of Arc memorial, stroll through the narrow streets of Old Rouen and its craftsmen's stalls, the "rue du Gros" and its shop windows or along the quays where the Rouen ARMADA is held every 5 years (from June 8 to 18 this year!!).

In the immediate vicinity, Forges les Eaux, an ancient spa town, is a bustling little town where you'll find all the shops you need, bars, restaurants, banks and sports facilities (swimming pool, Dojo etc...) etc... Stroll around the lake and through the Bois de l'Epinay, have a drink at the Grand Hôtel bar, relax at the Spa or try your luck at the Casino Barrière. Enjoy the races at the Mauquenchy racecourse on meeting days.

A little further afield, in Neufchâtel en Bray, there's a wider range of shops, cinema, theater, aquatic center...

In the surrounding area, numerous farms offer tours and events (donkey milk soap-making at Gaillefontaine, donkey trekking at Beaubec La Rosière, cooking workshops at Ferme de Louvicamp ....).

Finally, on site, you can enjoy the calm and serenity of the surroundings, relax, devour a book, watch the llamas and ponies, gaze at nature and meditate ... or simply do nothing and enjoy the moment!

For children, pony-riding activities are available subject to availability, as well as animal observation (llamas, ponies, birds, farmyard, etc.), outdoor games (croquet, snowshoes) and indoor games (books, coloring pages, board games) for rainy days or calm weather.

Rules

To make your stay as pleasant as possible, we ask you above all to respect the peace and quiet of the site and the neighborhood.

We live here with a lot of animals, so you'll be in their home too.
For your safety and theirs, you are forbidden to enter the enclosures or feed them without being invited.
For the same reasons, the entrance gate must always be closed after each visit.
You should also be aware that they live their lives to the full and can sometimes be quite demonstrative (especially the peacocks :)).

As we strive every day to reduce our impact on the environment, we ask you to join us in this effort by limiting your consumption of water, sawdust and wood, and by respecting waste sorting.

Apart from these instructions, you will be able to enjoy the property freely, while respecting the occupants, the equipment and the environment.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

* Clean, well-behaved dogs are welcome free of charge, but MUST BE AGREED beforehand and MUST be kept on a leash, as many of our animals roam freely on the property.

* Children, even if they are clean and well-behaved, remain the responsibility of their parents for the duration of their stay (but you don't have to keep them on a leash ^^).

* The property is NON SMOKING.

  • we'd like to thank Valérie; for sharing with us a moment in this magical place; its animals; the much sought-after silence...
    the llamas full of grace; the affectionate hens who came in the early morning and shared our breakfast; the sound of hair in the evening and the owls; yes, really a big thank you for your availability and your joie de vivre;
    a real blessing!

  • "If you love animals (llamas, horses, chickens, peacocks, dogs, cats), bucolic nature, absolute calm and an incredible welcome, Valérie will fulfill your desires.
Our 3 grandchildren were ecstatic, occupied all day by the animals and warmly welcomed by Valérie and her son Antoine, both of whom were incredibly patient.
The directions to the place were clear but GPS coordinates would have given us more confidence in reaching our destination.
We are confident that you will enjoy this magical place and a very generous host as much as we did.

  • Very good welcome from Valerie and her son. A beautiful discovery of the campsite for my daughter, in a quiet space, well equipped and in very good company (llamas, horses, parakeets, peacocks...). I highly recommend this little corner of paradise.

  • Excellent stay! Valerie welcomed us very well. The place is absolutely beautiful, with horses, llamas, chickens, dogs and even peacocks! Easily accessible from Paris, it was a getaway that did us a lot of good. The lunch with fresh local products, plus homemade crepes was delicious. We highly recommend it!

  • Thank you to Valerie for her welcome, always with the small care and to provide the best possible service. Here everything is nature, the real one! I was welcomed with open arms by Valerie and the llamas, I even had the right to a hot shower in the middle of nature, the grounds are splendid and we are in our own space in the middle of nature, I had the chance to have a magnificent starry sky with a multitude of shooting stars, these images will remain forever engraved in my heart. I absolutely recommend it but don't rush there either, I would selfishly like to keep a small place the day I go back there! Good continuation Valerie, do not change anything!

  • Very good reception and huge ground. The llamas are very nice! :-)

  • Our stay at Valerie's (although short) was perfect!
The property is immense and splendid, the reception point (caravan, solar shower and dry toilets) is charming and of a rare cleanliness, the presence of animals is top (big blow of heart for the llamas) and Valerie is very generous and pleasant. Go there without hesitation !

  • Fantastic stay! Everything was perfect, the place is magical, the presence of animals is a real plus and Valerie's welcome is incredible! A big thank you, we will come back with pleasure!

  • A big thank you to Valerie and her family for this authentic and warm welcome. A beautiful meeting in a soothing place. The llamas are adorable, the ponies magnificent
Thank you for this small Week end of disconnection.

  • Perfect stay at Valerie's !
    We were welcomed like friends.
The children (6, 7 and 8 years old) enjoyed a wonderful setting, animals (horses, llamas, peacocks and dog) within reach. They accompanied our host when we had to feed them and change the straw.
Valerie also gave us valuable advice on activities to do nearby.
The children did not want to leave. I promised we would come back.

  • My stay was just perfect! Valerie and all her family were very kind and generous. They were with our small care.
We spent a very good time around the fire. They offered us a lot of things such as Neuchâtel cheese.
We will return to this magical place one day. And I will visit this family and the animals who are more beautiful than the others.
    See you soon!

  • Waaaauw what an amazing stay with Valerie! We arrived in the rain and could stay inside for a bit, she offered us coffee or tea. In the evening we barbecued together with the family and other hosts. It was so cosy and fun! The animals are so sweet as well and all adopted. We could feed them abd they are happy and free. It's amazing how lovely this place is. There is also a nice, cosy gipsy caravan where you can hide for the rain, have electricity and comfort ???? thank you very much for this experience ????

  • A place where you feel like you are alone, in the middle of nature.
What a joy to let our daughters discover camping, in the middle of nature, among animals. They loved it, especially since Valerie is adorable and did not hesitate to please them: they could take care of the animals, had a riding lesson on Gygy's back and even spent a night in the trailer.
Despite the storms, we had an incredible experience and we leave with incredible memories!
What a joy to have been able to share an evening around the campfire with Valerie and another family.
We will certainly come back ;-)

  • We felt very welcome. After a good description of the place, we found the long driveway. With a view of nature, llamas and horses. It woke up with the sound of birds. Clean facilities. Highly recommended.
