Description

Hoist the mainsail! The Armada is back from June 8 to 18, 2023!

With family or friends, come and see the most beautiful sailing ships in the world in Rouen.
Choose to stay in a quiet place and only 30 minutes by train from the capital of Normandy. No more parking problems!

Located at 7 mn from the SNCF station of Serqueux, our old cheese farm will be the ideal base to enjoy the event without stress.

After having walked the platforms all day, you will enjoy a peaceful and relaxing environment, far from the tumult of the city.

If you're looking for a nature vacation in Normandy to recharge your batteries, our farm campground is the perfect choice.

The setting

In the middle of nature, at the end of a dead end street, our property extends over 8 hectares of meadows bordered by hedges surrounding a stone building dating from 1825.
You will be able to live a unique experience in Normandy in the middle of Connemara ponies and numerous wild or domestic animals which reside there.

In addition to our ponies and llamas, you may see deer at sunrise, or fox cubs playing in the meadows.

In the warmth of your sleeping bag, after having admired a magnificent sunset, you will contemplate the stars on summer evenings, and fall asleep to the cry of the owl!

The spots

Depending on the season, the weather and what you are looking for, you can set up wherever you want: near the camp for conviviality around the wood fire or on top of the grasslands, as close to nature as possible, isolated as if you were camping in the wild in the spirit of a bivouac. In summer, after the haymaking, the large meadow of 3 hectares offers an almost infinite space where you will be alone in the world!

The sanitary facilities

You will have access to a dry toilet in a dedicated shed.

A solar shower is installed near the caravan, the temperature of the water is of course depending on the sunshine!

Water points are accessible outside.

For the sanitary facilities, we provide environmentally friendly products

The amenities

Electrical outlets available near the stables, possibility of extension cord.
For a total disconnection, no WiFi
Nevertheless, 4G works perfectly (according to operators)

The activities

Less than an hour from Rouen, Amiens, Dieppe or Beauvais, both isolated from the outside world and close to the centers of activity, you will stay in a haven of peace.

In the heart of the Pays de Bray, taste the local products (Neufchâtel cheese in the forefront, but not only ...) and discover the Norman countryside, on foot, on horseback, by bike.
Hiking trails are accessible from the property.
For the most courageous, the "Avenue verte" will take you to Dieppe, also accessible by car in less than an hour. A seaside town in full development, Dieppe offers a wide range of activities, shops, outings, cinema, casino, bars and restaurants, the port, the beach and ferry departures to England.
Once in Dieppe, you will not be far from Varengeville and its marine cemetery where Georges Braque is buried, Veules les Roses and its cressonnières and the smallest river in France. Continuing along the Alabaster coast, discover Fécamp and the Benedictine, Etretat and its famous needle, then Le Havre and the hanging gardens.

Cross the magnificent Normandy bridge and you will arrive in Honfleur which deserves a romantic stroll, a little further, Deauville, Cabourg and the whole Nacre coast.

Inland, you can visit two of the most beautiful villages in France: Gerberoy, less than 40 minutes away, or Lyons la Forêt surrounded by its magnificent beech forest.

Golf lovers will find their happiness on the green of Saint Saens before having a drink or lunch at the Entrepote which we recommend.

In 45 minutes, you will be in the heart of Rouen, the city of a hundred steeples. You will visit the cathedral, illuminated every summer with a sound and light show, the Joan of Arc memorial, stroll through the narrow streets of Old Rouen and its craftsmen's stalls, in the "rue du Gros" and its shop windows or along the quays where the Rouen ARMADA is held every 5 years (from June 8 to 18 this year!)

In the immediate vicinity, Forges les Eaux, a former spa town, is an active little town where you will find all the necessary shops, bars, restaurants, banks as well as sports facilities (swimming pool, Dojo etc...) etc... Take a walk around the lake and in the Epinay wood, have a drink at the Grand Hotel bar, relax at the Spa or try your luck at the Casino Barrière. Enjoy the races at the Mauquenchy racecourse on meeting days.

A little further away, in Neufchâtel en Bray, there are more important shops, cinema, theater, aquatic center...

All around, many farms offer visits and activities (donkey milk soap making in Gaillefontaine, donkey rides in Beaubec La Rosière, cooking workshops at the Louvicamp Farm ....)

Finally, on the spot, you can enjoy the calm and serenity of the place to relax, devour a book, observe the llamas and ponies, watch nature and meditate ... or simply do nothing and enjoy the present moment!

For children, possibility of discovery and activities around the pony subject to availability, observation of animals (llamas, ponies, birds, farmyard ...), outdoor games (croquet, snowshoes) and indoor games (books, coloring, board games) available for rainy days or quiet times.

For the same reasons, the gate at the entrance must always be closed after each visit.
Please be aware that they live their lives to the fullest and can be quite demonstrative at times (especially the peacocks :))

As we try to reduce our impact on the environment on a daily basis, we ask you to join us in this effort by limiting your consumption of water, sawdust and wood and by respecting waste sorting.

Apart from these instructions, you will be able to enjoy the property freely, in the respect of its occupants, the material and the environment.

  • Very good welcome from Valerie and her son. A beautiful discovery of the campsite for my daughter, in a quiet space, well equipped and in very good company (llamas, horses, parakeets, peacocks...). I highly recommend this little corner of paradise.

  • Excellent stay! Valerie welcomed us very well. The place is absolutely beautiful, with horses, llamas, chickens, dogs and even peacocks! Easily accessible from Paris, it was a getaway that did us a lot of good. The lunch with fresh local products, plus homemade crepes was delicious. We highly recommend it!

  • Thank you to Valerie for her welcome, always with the small care and to provide the best possible service. Here everything is nature, the real one! I was welcomed with open arms by Valerie and the llamas, I even had the right to a hot shower in the middle of nature, the grounds are splendid and we are in our own space in the middle of nature, I had the chance to have a magnificent starry sky with a multitude of shooting stars, these images will remain forever engraved in my heart. I absolutely recommend it but don't rush there either, I would selfishly like to keep a small place the day I go back there! Good continuation Valerie, do not change anything!

  • Very good reception and huge ground. The llamas are very nice! :-)

  • Our stay at Valerie's (although short) was perfect!
The property is immense and splendid, the reception point (caravan, solar shower and dry toilets) is charming and of a rare cleanliness, the presence of animals is top (big blow of heart for the llamas) and Valerie is very generous and pleasant. Go there without hesitation !

  • Fantastic stay! Everything was perfect, the place is magical, the presence of animals is a real plus and Valerie's welcome is incredible! A big thank you, we will come back with pleasure!

  • A big thank you to Valerie and her family for this authentic and warm welcome. A beautiful meeting in a soothing place. The llamas are adorable, the ponies magnificent
Thank you for this small Week end of disconnection.

  • Perfect stay at Valerie's !
    We were welcomed like friends.
The children (6, 7 and 8 years old) enjoyed a wonderful setting, animals (horses, llamas, peacocks and dog) within reach. They accompanied our host when we had to feed them and change the straw.
Valerie also gave us valuable advice on activities to do nearby.
The children did not want to leave. I promised we would come back.

  • My stay was just perfect! Valerie and all her family were very kind and generous. They were with our small care.
We spent a very good time around the fire. They offered us a lot of things such as Neuchâtel cheese.
We will return to this magical place one day. And I will visit this family and the animals who are more beautiful than the others.
    See you soon!

  • Waaaauw what an amazing stay with Valerie! We arrived in the rain and could stay inside for a bit, she offered us coffee or tea. In the evening we barbecued together with the family and other hosts. It was so cosy and fun! The animals are so sweet as well and all adopted. We could feed them abd they are happy and free. It's amazing how lovely this place is. There is also a nice, cosy gipsy caravan where you can hide for the rain, have electricity and comfort ???? thank you very much for this experience ????

  • A place where you feel like you are alone, in the middle of nature.
What a joy to let our daughters discover camping, in the middle of nature, among animals. They loved it, especially since Valerie is adorable and did not hesitate to please them: they could take care of the animals, had a riding lesson on Gygy's back and even spent a night in the trailer.
Despite the storms, we had an incredible experience and we leave with incredible memories!
What a joy to have been able to share an evening around the campfire with Valerie and another family.
We will certainly come back ;-)

  • We felt very welcome. After a good description of the place, we found the long driveway. With a view of nature, llamas and horses. It woke up with the sound of birds. Clean facilities. Highly recommended.
