Description

For a total disconnection and a real return to nature, live the life of the shepherds of the past in an authentic shepherd's hut.

The setting

Former cheese farm, in the middle of nature at the end of a dead end, our property extends over 8 hectares of meadows bordered by hedges surrounding a stone building dating from 1825.

Many wild and domestic animals live here.

In the middle of the Connemara ponies, we have installed our caravan

In addition to our ponies and llamas, you may see deer at daybreak, or fox cubs playing in the meadows.

Warm under the comforter, after having admired a magnificent sunset, you will contemplate the milky way during the summer evenings, you will fall asleep at the cry of the owl and will wake up at the song of the wolf!...

The spots

A real shepherd's hut, used in the past for summer pastures, it will take you on a timeless journey, close to nature.

Restored to its original state, it has kept its charm and authenticity.

For more comfort, we have however equipped it with a quality bedding to ensure you a restful sleep.

Attention: The bunk can only accommodate one person (or two small children)

The sanitary facilities

You will have access to a dry toilet in a dedicated shed.

A solar shower is installed near the caravan, the temperature of the water is of course depending on the sunshine!

Water points are accessible outside.

For the sanitary facilities, we provide environmentally friendly products

The amenities

For a total disconnection, no wIfI, no electricity either ^^
Nevertheless, 4G works perfectly (according to operators)
Electrical outlets are available near the stables to recharge laptops and batteries

Equipment of the caravan:
Bed in alcove for 1 person (mattress + overlay) comforter, pillows
Small folding table and stools
2 drawers under the bed

Outside :
Garden furniture with table and chairs
Shared bivouac area with barbecue, campfire
Possibility to prepare picnic basket or breakfast on request

The activities

Less than an hour from Rouen, Amiens, Dieppe or Beauvais, both isolated from the outside world and close to the centers of activity, you will stay in a haven of peace.

In the heart of the Pays de Bray, taste the local products (Neufchâtel cheese in the forefront, but not only ...) and discover the Norman countryside, on foot, on horseback, by bike.
Hiking trails are accessible from the property.
For the most courageous, the Green Avenue will take you to Dieppe, also accessible by car in less than an hour. A seaside town in full development, Dieppe offers a wide range of activities, shops, outings, cinema, casino, bars and restaurants, the port, the beach and ferry departures to England.
Once in Dieppe, you will not be far from Varengeville and its marine cemetery where Georges Braque is buried, Veules les Roses and its cressonnières and the smallest river in France. Continuing along the Alabaster coast, discover Fécamp and the Benedictine, Etretat and its famous needle, then Le Havre and the hanging gardens.

Cross the magnificent Normandy bridge and you will arrive in Honfleur which deserves a romantic stroll, a little further, Deauville, Cabourg and the whole Nacre coast.

Inland, you can visit two of the most beautiful villages in France: Gerberoy, less than 40 minutes away, or Lyons la Forêt surrounded by its magnificent beech forest.

Golf enthusiasts will find their happiness on the green of Saint Saens before having a drink or lunch at the Entrepote which we recommend.

In 45 minutes, you will be in the heart of Rouen, the city of a hundred steeples. You will visit the cathedral, illuminated every summer with a sound and light show, the Joan of Arc memorial, stroll through the narrow streets of Old Rouen and its craftsmen's shops, in the "rue du Gros" and its shop windows or along the quays where the Rouen Armada is held every 5 years (the next one will be held in June 2023)

In the immediate vicinity, Forges les Eaux, a former spa town, is an active little town where you will find all the necessary shops, bars, restaurants, banks as well as sports facilities (swimming pool, Dojo etc...) etc... Take a walk around the lake and in the Epinay wood, have a drink at the Grand Hotel bar, relax at the Spa or try your luck at the Casino Barrière. Enjoy the races at the Mauquenchy racecourse on meeting days.

A little further away, in Neufchâtel en Bray, there are more important shops, cinema, theater, aquatic center...

All around, many farms offer visits and activities (donkey milk soap making in Gaillefontaine, donkey rides in Beaubec La Rosière, cooking workshops at the Louvicamp Farm ....)

Finally, on the spot, you can enjoy the calm and serenity of the place to relax, devour a book, observe the llamas and ponies, watch nature and meditate ... or simply do nothing and tell yourself that life is beautiful ...

For children, possibility of discovery and activities around the pony subject to availability, observation of animals (llamas, ponies, birds, farmyard ...), outdoor games (croquet, snowshoes) and indoor games (books, coloring, board games) available for rainy days or quiet times.

Rules

In order to make your stay pleasant for everyone, we ask you to respect the peace and quiet of the place and the neighborhood.

We live here with a lot of animals, so you will be in their home too.
For your safety and theirs, you will not be allowed to enter the pens or feed them without being invited.
For the same reasons, the gate at the entrance must always be closed after each visit.
Please be aware that they live their lives to the fullest and can be quite demonstrative at times (especially the peacocks :))

As we try to reduce our impact on the environment on a daily basis, we ask you to join us in this effort by limiting your consumption of water, sawdust and wood and by respecting waste sorting.

Apart from these instructions, you will be able to enjoy the property freely, in the respect of its occupants, the material and the environment.
