Land & setting
  • Very friendly welcome
Very well located in relation to Lisbon, very clean. The kitchen area is very well equipped and pleasant. Animals live freely in the campsite. You wake up when the rooster crows.
Minus: you can hear the traffic on the main road.

  • Wonderful place for relax! A true farm experience. Thank you Jorge, you’re very kind. ????

  • Perfect!

  • Génial..... A corner bordering on wild bivouac, a little far from Lisboa, but a great pleasure to spend the night(s) there ... Be careful, you're in an agricultural setting, with roosters crowing before sunrise... But for the children, it's a great pleasure to cuddle the big dog (a darling) and give fruit to the feathered creatures that come to sleep under your vehicle. (++) Jorge is always smiling, the place is magical, (--) Still lacks a solar water heater for sanitary comfort, and it's a shame it doesn't produce direct ..... To discover with your family

  • We spent 3 nights in Jorge's tent. The site is quiet, very well maintained and tastefully furnished. It feels like home. All the equipment you need for cooking is there. We'll be back with pleasure. Jorge is a welcoming and attentive host. Thanks again for the kumquat liqueur. ????

  • Spent two amazing days at Jorge's property, and will come back for sure. The spot to pitch tents was very nice, flat, under the trees which gives you shade but still a little bit of view of the sky. The bathrooms were spotless, very clean, and organized. Kitchen is full of every tool you'll need to cook. The animals are adorable and his dogs are very friendly. Jorge is also a kind person. Everything is very simple, no luxury, exactly what you would expect from the pictures. Donkeys and goats are in a dedicated space, birds roam around free, had zero problem with that. Do not forget insect repellent in any hypothesis :)

  • Jorge made us feel very welcome and we had a great time, even if the mosquitoes are a bit fierce.
The animals are nice, even if they are a bit noisy at night.
Fully-equipped outdoor kitchen and nice sanitary facilities (Warning: cold water only).

  • Very nice place. We were supposed to stay for 2 days, but extended our stay by one night. All amenities: water, electricity, shower and toilet, outdoor kitchen. Amid the animals, plenty of space, friendly and Jorge is a very pleasant host. Possibility of exploring the surrounding area with a 20' boat ride to Lisbon with free parking. We'll be back without hesitation.

  • The week of August 15th, a lot of people that Jorge probably couldn't refuse. That didn't stop him from welcoming me with great kindness and attention. The site is a small paradise in the heart of an oak forest, where many animals live. It's also very close to Lisbon, if you take the Montijo boat. It's a great way to discover the city in these conditions.

  • Very pleasant place surrounded by animals, clean sanitary facilities and quiet surroundings. The host is very friendly and available. Please note that there is no hot shower. Lots of mosquitoes and flies, but this is due to the environment.

  • Jorge is very welcoming and this place is realy amazing. There is animals everywhere ( goats, dunkys, ducks, chikens..etc) the commun area is clean with all the equipement you need.
only one bad point: lot of flys and mosquitos

  • Welcoming owner. Pleasant place. Great!

  • Very good stay at Jorge's, we stayed 2 nights, the setting is very nice and the bathrooms are clean. The place is friendly (shared kitchen and rest area). Thank you very much!

  • A pleasant experience in the presence of animals, in the shade of cork oaks (but be sure to bring mosquito repellent in the evening, as flies are ever-present). Jorge is welcoming, the pitches pleasant and the sanitary facilities well-maintained. A pleasant plus: the well-equipped outdoor kitchen. For an electric hook-up, please allow an extra 2€ per day (not specified on the advert). Convenient location for the ferry to Lisbon (park your car at the slipway in Montijo, a 15-minute drive away).

  • A lovely place to camp in the shade of a cork oak tree, on beautiful grounds. Everything is designed for maximum comfort: terrace and outdoor kitchen. Very clean sanitary facilities. We had a great time on Jorge's lovely farm, surrounded by animals and nature. Easy access to Lisbon and the surrounding area.

  • We spent two nights in a van in this haven of peace.
A welcome return to our roots
Jorge is an absolutely friendly and welcoming host
    Silence reigns here...
All you'll hear are the sounds of the animals (hens, roosters, turkeys, geese, donkeys, dogs, cats...) who may come to visit you out of curiosity (but you're in their home too).
The site has everything you'll need: showers (cold), toilets and basic necessities, as well as a kitchen and dining room (cutlery, coffee maker, stove...). It's a lovely shelter set up in the middle of the site, ideal for meeting and chatting, and very Zen.
    The pitches are mostly shaded.
Geographically, you're only 30/40 minutes from Lisbon
Jorge will advise you on how to get there without the car
We left the car in the village next door in a free parking lot and took the boat for a 6th return fare.
Thank you Jorge for a warm welcome and a wonderful meeting.

  • Jorge is a very pleasant and welcoming host.
We had a great time as a family, full of wonderful encounters.
    The children loved the animals.

Thank you very much, recommended without hesitation.
    See you next time.

  • We had a great stay with Jorge.
A discreet and very caring host.
His site is great. The animals are free to roam. A shared kitchen that's very functional and conducive to socializing.
    Sanitary facilities and showers impeccable.
    We recommend it!

  • It was excellent!
    A nice place to stay!

  • Very nice place, everything is clean and functional, the children loved the mini farm and the company of the animals. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed. Lisbon is half an hour away. Great experience :)

  • Jorge was so kind! We booked the same afternoon. Everything is in simplicity but it is very comfortable and you can also have a nice walk among the cork trees. Jorge also offered us some eggs and vegetables. The children had a great time with the animals. Just beware that you cannot empty the black water.

  • Jorge is very friendly. Very large space under the oaks. Good place for motorhomes but a bit noisy for campers, because of the nearby road.

  • It was a unique experience. The place is amazing and Jorge is a great host. I was there for a week and loved it.
    Thank you

  • Jorge is very nice and welcomed us very well and advised us to go to Lisbon.
His farm is a very nice place with many different species of animals in freedom.
We spent two very pleasant nights.
    Thank you very much!

  • Thank you Jorge for allowing us to share his space. Be careful though: you have to like living with the animals in the backyard. Personally, we were a bit disturbed by the animals in total freedom.
Another point (that Jorge had pointed out to us at the time of the reservation): the solar shower was cold (lack of sunlight).
Finally, the water pump of the shower did not work all the time; only when the solar panels receive enough light...
So please note that the comfort is very rudimentary. That said, it will probably be enough for most travelers looking for this type of accommodation.

  • Not far from Lisbon, but quiet, we spent a night at Jorge's house with our 2 daughters. It was our most beautiful experience in Portugal, Jorge is so kind. Our daughters were able to feed the animals with him. The dry toilets and the rain shower are well thought out and are in the theme. An outside kitchen is available, it's great. I highly recommend Jorge

  • Jorge is an extremely kind and generous man. It's a pleasure to talk with him. We spent 2 nights there with our 3 boys of 5,7 and 13 years old who had a great time with the animals. The outside kitchen is really practical. Everything is designed to be friendly and pleasant. It will be a pleasure to come back for a next stay. I highly recommend!!!

  • Great place, Jorge is adorable, available and of good advice.
It's a little corner of nature in the middle of the animals close to Lisbon.
    I recommend it.

  • If you are looking for a place to be away from it all, in peace and quiet, in connection with nature, you will be in the right place!
We stayed for 3 nights with our 4 and 6 year old children. Jorge is very pleasant and always available to give us good advice. We enjoyed living among animals (cats/dogs) and birds (ducks, chickens, peacocks...) that are free on the huge shaded and plant rich grounds. Dry toilets and warm water showers (heated by the sun) are very clean. An open kitchen with everything you need to cook, rest (hammock/sofa), wash dishes.
Very nice experience that I recommend and that we will do again with pleasure if we come back in the region.

  • A litle paradise
The lanf and the host Jorge

  • Jorge is a totally nice person. We were there for one night, would definitely stay longer next time. Toilet is good, shower with a view :) you have a bit of Africa feeling when camping! Very nice

  • We had a great Time at Jorge's where we could enjoy being in the cocoon of is beautiful garden and oak cork plantation. There is a very nice covered terrasse and outdoor kitchen. The shower and toilets facilities are basic (as you'll expect it in a permacultural place) and totally sufficient, all is there.
It was the ideal location for us as we didn't want to drive with our motorhome in Lisboa but still wanted to visit the town (Quick Uber -20mins/12€- and crossing the Tage on the boat straight to city centre -15mins/3€)
Jorge is a very welcoming person and he made us feel at home. We will definitly return to his place if we go back in this area and will strongly recommand it to other people.
    Thanks again Jorge

  • We enjoyed our time on Jorge’s farm so much.
Jorge is extremely friendly, generous and always has an open ear for everyone.
His farm with the many wonderful animals and the great nature has absolutely thrilled us.
A very special place with a very special person. A big thank you to Jorge for the time we were allowed to spend with him

  • We arrived in the dawn and left early in the morning but we could see how lovely Jorge created his farm.
It was great to be in a quiet place and have the proximity to Lisboa. Unfortunately we just had a little chat with Jorge but he was really friendly and open minded.

  • Quick one night stop on our way, but no less wonderful! Jorge is very nice and makes huge spaces available. There are a lot of animals on the campspade and they all came to greet us - a huge plus, if you are also animal lover:) We didn't have time to say goodbye due to the rush, but it doesn't matter, we will definitely be back! Thanks a lot!

  • For those who are looking for true peace and quiet near Lisbon this place is simply wonderful.
I wanted to spend a weekend alone with my 13 year old son and continue to pass on the message that it is in the little "nothings" of this life that we have everything, so this place proved to be the perfect spot for us.
We thank Jorge for having welcomed us so well and for sharing this genuine and charming space with us.
We will be back for sure!

  • We had fantastic 3 days at this property in the middle of the nature. Jorge is a great host and very helpful. We really enjoyed our conversations with him. It is a safe place! We highly recommend it for families regarding the animals and space around to explore. Lisbon is near. We paid around 30 Euros per Uber - ride which takes 35-40 minutes. We will come back when we are nearby.

  • Incredible place, the support and communication served has been 10.

Thanks for everything and see you soon.

  • This is a farm stay. For children and lovers of nature and animals in the wild, it is perfect. Everything is ecological, including the solar shower and dry toilets. Jorges is very friendly and welcoming, he even gave us some fruit from his garden. We recommend you to go there without hesitation.

  • Great welcome from jorge he lives in a magical place calm and peaceful with a beautiful garden and animals
His dog Bella welcomes you at the blue gate as if to welcome you
Jorge thanks for the delicious tomatoes, apples and eggs
    Ideally located to discover Lisbon
    I strongly recommend

  • Big adventure with Jorge who has created his own little world, for him and loads of animals in the middle of what feels like nowhere. Jorge is very friendly and open. Spend a great hot afternoon sleeping in the hammock :) The facilities are basic. Alochete was the best suprise of my trip to Portugal. Lovely old centre, great restaurants and just a good small town feel!

  • We loved staying at Jorge's Quinta so much that we came back a few times and even stayed for two weeks!

Jorge's hospitality is out of this world. He gave us homemade bread and homegrown veggies and herbs. He spoiled us big time! I think we can call each other friends after our stay at this little paradise.

    What we really liked:
    - There is a water pump, so you can get fresh water straight out of mother earth!
    - We could use his WiFi which still had some connection 50m from his home. If we needed a better connection we would walk more towards his house.
    - Very animal friendly. There are lots of nice animals, such as donkeys, goats, chickens, geese, turkeys and our favorite: his dog Bellatex.
    - The land is so big, you can have a beautiful walk around and do some yoga on the "hill" in the back.
    - In a 30 min drive you have beautiful beaches at Costa da Caparica with some nice beach bars.

Something you have to take into account:
    - There is a compost toilet, which we found totally okay to use.
    - The location is great, close to the lovely fishermen's town Alcochete, but still a 30-45 min drive to Lisboa. You could take the Uber for 30 euros if you don't want to bring your camper into the city.

Ok, this is definitely the longest review I've ever written, but hopefully this makes you want to visit Jorge's Quinta and enjoy all the goods this piece of land has to offer.

    Muito orbigado Jorge!

  • We shared a lovely and peaceful moment in Jorge's farm, he is a sweet and really kind host !
If you want to have a quiet place where you can chill with a lots of animals so it's the place to be..
All our kinds regards to you Jorge ????
See u soon for sure !!
    Friendly, Meg & Yoan
