Philippe M.Jorge is the benevolent owner of a quinta not far from Lisbon, where you can leave your big car for the duration of a visit to the Portuguese capital (which is rather chaotic when it comes to traffic). His welcome is friendly and he spontaneously facilitates his guests' stay. A recommended stopover on any itinerary in Portugal.

Very well located in relation to Lisbon, very clean. The kitchen area is very well equipped and pleasant. Animals live freely in the campsite. You wake up when the rooster crows.
Minus: you can hear the traffic on the main road. -

Be careful, you're in an agricultural setting, with roosters crowing before sunrise... But for the children, it's a great pleasure to cuddle the big dog (a darling) and give fruit to the feathered creatures that come to sleep under your vehicle. (++) Jorge is always smiling, the place is magical, (--) Still lacks a solar water heater for sanitary comfort, and it's a shame it doesn't produce direct ..... To discover with your family

Camilla M.Spent two amazing days at Jorge's property, and will come back for sure. The spot to pitch tents was very nice, flat, under the trees which gives you shade but still a little bit of view of the sky. The bathrooms were spotless, very clean, and organized. Kitchen is full of every tool you'll need to cook. The animals are adorable and his dogs are very friendly. Jorge is also a kind person. Everything is very simple, no luxury, exactly what you would expect from the pictures. Donkeys and goats are in a dedicated space, birds roam around free, had zero problem with that. Do not forget insect repellent in any hypothesis :)

Amid the animals, plenty of space, friendly and Jorge is a very pleasant host. Possibility of exploring the surrounding area with a 20' boat ride to Lisbon with free parking. We'll be back without hesitation.

The site is a small paradise in the heart of an oak forest, where many animals live. It's also very close to Lisbon, if you take the Montijo boat. It's a great way to discover the city in these conditions.

A pleasant experience in the presence of animals, in the shade of cork oaks (but be sure to bring mosquito repellent in the evening, as flies are ever-present). Jorge is welcoming, the pitches pleasant and the sanitary facilities well-maintained. A pleasant plus: the well-equipped outdoor kitchen. For an electric hook-up, please allow an extra 2€ per day (not specified on the advert). Convenient location for the ferry to Lisbon (park your car at the slipway in Montijo, a 15-minute drive away).

A welcome return to our roots
Jorge is an absolutely friendly and welcoming host
Silence reigns here...
All you'll hear are the sounds of the animals (hens, roosters, turkeys, geese, donkeys, dogs, cats...) who may come to visit you out of curiosity (but you're in their home too).
The site has everything you'll need: showers (cold), toilets and basic necessities, as well as a kitchen and dining room (cutlery, coffee maker, stove...). It's a lovely shelter set up in the middle of the site, ideal for meeting and chatting, and very Zen.
The pitches are mostly shaded.
Geographically, you're only 30/40 minutes from Lisbon
Jorge will advise you on how to get there without the car
We left the car in the village next door in a free parking lot and took the boat for a 6th return fare.

Elena D.Jorge was so kind! We booked the same afternoon. Everything is in simplicity but it is very comfortable and you can also have a nice walk among the cork trees. Jorge also offered us some eggs and vegetables. The children had a great time with the animals. Just beware that you cannot empty the black water.

Frédéric V.Thank you Jorge for allowing us to share his space. Be careful though: you have to like living with the animals in the backyard. Personally, we were a bit disturbed by the animals in total freedom.
Another point (that Jorge had pointed out to us at the time of the reservation): the solar shower was cold (lack of sunlight).
Finally, the water pump of the shower did not work all the time; only when the solar panels receive enough light...
So please note that the comfort is very rudimentary. That said, it will probably be enough for most travelers looking for this type of accommodation. -

Not far from Lisbon, but quiet, we spent a night at Jorge's house with our 2 daughters. It was our most beautiful experience in Portugal, Jorge is so kind. Our daughters were able to feed the animals with him. The dry toilets and the rain shower are well thought out and are in the theme. An outside kitchen is available, it's great. I highly recommend Jorge

We stayed for 3 nights with our 4 and 6 year old children. Jorge is very pleasant and always available to give us good advice. We enjoyed living among animals (cats/dogs) and birds (ducks, chickens, peacocks...) that are free on the huge shaded and plant rich grounds. Dry toilets and warm water showers (heated by the sun) are very clean. An open kitchen with everything you need to cook, rest (hammock/sofa), wash dishes.
Very nice experience that I recommend and that we will do again with pleasure if we come back in the region. -

Yannis M.We had a great Time at Jorge's where we could enjoy being in the cocoon of is beautiful garden and oak cork plantation. There is a very nice covered terrasse and outdoor kitchen. The shower and toilets facilities are basic (as you'll expect it in a permacultural place) and totally sufficient, all is there.
It was the ideal location for us as we didn't want to drive with our motorhome in Lisboa but still wanted to visit the town (Quick Uber -20mins/12€- and crossing the Tage on the boat straight to city centre -15mins/3€)
Jorge is a very welcoming person and he made us feel at home. We will definitly return to his place if we go back in this area and will strongly recommand it to other people.

I wanted to spend a weekend alone with my 13 year old son and continue to pass on the message that it is in the little "nothings" of this life that we have everything, so this place proved to be the perfect spot for us.
We thank Jorge for having welcomed us so well and for sharing this genuine and charming space with us.

We highly recommend it for families regarding the animals and space around to explore. Lisbon is near. We paid around 30 Euros per Uber - ride which takes 35-40 minutes. We will come back when we are nearby.

A A.Big adventure with Jorge who has created his own little world, for him and loads of animals in the middle of what feels like nowhere. Jorge is very friendly and open. Spend a great hot afternoon sleeping in the hammock :) The facilities are basic. Alochete was the best suprise of my trip to Portugal. Lovely old centre, great restaurants and just a good small town feel!

Jorge's hospitality is out of this world. He gave us homemade bread and homegrown veggies and herbs. He spoiled us big time! I think we can call each other friends after our stay at this little paradise.
What we really liked:
- There is a water pump, so you can get fresh water straight out of mother earth!
- We could use his WiFi which still had some connection 50m from his home. If we needed a better connection we would walk more towards his house.
- Very animal friendly. There are lots of nice animals, such as donkeys, goats, chickens, geese, turkeys and our favorite: his dog Bellatex.
- The land is so big, you can have a beautiful walk around and do some yoga on the "hill" in the back.
- In a 30 min drive you have beautiful beaches at Costa da Caparica with some nice beach bars.
Something you have to take into account:
- There is a compost toilet, which we found totally okay to use.
- The location is great, close to the lovely fishermen's town Alcochete, but still a 30-45 min drive to Lisboa. You could take the Uber for 30 euros if you don't want to bring your camper into the city.
Ok, this is definitely the longest review I've ever written, but hopefully this makes you want to visit Jorge's Quinta and enjoy all the goods this piece of land has to offer.
