Land & setting
  • Convenient for a one night stopover. The place is very beautiful. Access to dry toilets and an outside hose for water.

  • This is my first experience on HomeCamper and certainly not the last.
I thank my host for his validation the same day of my reservation made at the last moment and his quick answers via sms.
I arrived very late in the night on the site (great flexibility for arrivals) and left very early.
The communication by phone and sms was easy and very cordial.
Lots of space (you can set up where you want) and beautiful landscape.
Absolute silence (nothing to do with a camping) and very visible stars.
Lots of animals (cows, annes, turkeys, ...), which seem to be very well looked after and happy.
I only stayed one night out of two booked because I changed my itinerary.
I hope to have the opportunity to say hello to Jacques on a future trip.
    Thierry and my daughter Alixe

  • Nice place to camp for one night, with lovely animals nearby. Beware that mobile phone does not receive data in here

  • A beautiful place with a very good atmosphere, the camping site offers an incredible view on the valleys, a lake, the sunsets, and peaceful animals in retreat from a bad past, welcomed and taken care of by a very generous woman, Stéphanie... some wild animals passing by too... A warm welcome by Mila, accommodating and smiling, and a dungeon full of history... We spent 7 really pleasant days there...

  • In spite of the weather and the festival in the village next door for which the hosts were not responsible, we spent two nights in a magnificent setting. Stéphanie's welcome is perfect and warm, Jacques' son made us visit the dungeon, an exceptional return to the past, the town of Saulieu is only 1h30 away by small paths, the "p'tiot zinc", a small social brewery is very nice... by good weather it must be exceptional to enjoy the place...
Thank you and good end of season

  • The spot is beautiful in its landscape setting, with a really nice view. But the terrain is used as a pasture and full of horse sh*t, and nettles. Infrastructure is really basic. So all in all a very mixed experience.

  • Although we had to change our arrival day at the last minute, the welcome was very warm. We were on the site with another camper but there was no problem as there is plenty of space. The place is great, you feel like a lord of the castle. Unfortunately we could only stay for one night: the area offers so many possibilities for beautiful walks. Dry toilet and water available.

  • A change of scenery is guaranteed in a superb natural setting. Our only neighbors: horses, donkeys, turkeys...
It's a pity that the space for a camping car is limited around the dungeon. Very good welcome from Stéphanie. She is a beautiful person who deserves to be known.

  • Wonderful area with horses, cows, cute donkeys and a midcentury castle owned by lovely Jacques. Perfect stay

  • very nice welcome by Stéphanie
alone to camp at the foot of the dungeon, surrounded by animals of all kinds but without danger for us ....sauf the hornets nesting in the dungeon: jacques, warned, had to eliminate them! difficult to plant a stake, sanitary and access to water very rustic! camp, well for one night!

  • the environment is very beautiful in the middle of nature with a superb view. there is water and dry toilets. i liked this beautiful place (very connected to nature).

  • Beautiful nature! Thank you Stephanie for your hospitality and selflessness!

  • For a first experience of camping in a home, it was a success. What a peaceful place at the foot of this majestic keep. Good welcome by Stéphanie and her beautiful soul.

  • Very good stay with Jacques. We were very well received in this very peaceful setting. Perfect for camping in peace, near horses, donkeys and cows. Thank you very much
    We recommend it !

  • What a beautiful place!
Thanks to Stéphanie for the welcome and the possibility to pitch the tent at the bottom of the field. Shade under the trees, and a clear view ...
Small stay in the middle of the cows! and 1st successful for our little 1 year old.

  • Excellent reception, attentive and warm.
    Very nice place!
    I will keep the address.

  • Unfortunately the weather was so bad that we had to cancel our stay. I'll see you later, but I'm sure it's still good

  • Perfect stay. Warm welcome, very nice place, a little bit lost in the middle of nowhere but that's what we were looking for! Thanks again for the stay :)

  • Thanks to Jacques and Stéphanie for the welcome, everything was perfect! The land is beautiful.

  • Camping in the shadow of an old dungeon in the wilderness was a delight.

  • I loved being close to nature... Stéphanie welcomed me very well in her magical environment! The domain is beautiful, the dungeon too! I loved to be in contact with the animals and to open my tent in the morning to see beautiful horses passing by! And to admire the forest. I also enjoyed walking in the domain where there is a lake and a small river! A dream for me! Thanks again!

  • Very nice welcome! Beautiful and very authentic place! Thanks again for everything!

  • We had a very good stay, Stéphanie's welcome was very pleasant and the site is magnificent! I just find the price a bit high for a site without sanitary facilities.

  • Stéphanie's welcome is very friendly and she is entirely devoted to the adoption of unfortunate animals.
We played next to the castle in the company of horses in a natural setting.
It was a real good time

  • Great place, where we were alone as campers.
A very good welcome, in a splendid setting.

  • We went there twice and it became a pilgrimage for the family.
A great setting, a unique experience!
I recommend it a thousand times.
I hesitated to put this comment a bit like when you have found a corner of paradise and you don't want to report it to the backpacker's guide so as not to see the influx of tourists.
But it would be selfish not to share.

If you like the stay, don't hesitate to make a donation to help the renovation of the dungeon !

  • Beautiful place in a quiet, idyllic setting! Very warm welcome, thank you Stephanie for your kindness and dedication to the animals! Our son loved it! Despite the rainy weather, we had a great time! To do it again without hesitation!

  • Jacques' field is perfect, magical environment in the middle of nature!
    Thank you!

  • I keep very good memories of this stay where the search for rest and nature were more than present ....

  • I did not meet my host but his neighbor Stephanie (who is very nice). It's a pity that the fact that there is no sanitary or water point is not mentioned ...... either I like the "wild" side, but not without possibility of hygiene. Attractive price ... but not at the price of the m² for a tent.

  • Magnificent place ! Exceptional view ! Delightful welcome! We will keep an excellent memory of our stay in Saulieu. A special thanks to Stéphanie for her kindness and availability. We will come back !

  • We did not meet our host but her very nice neighbor. Very pleasant weekend in a quiet place, ideal to rest!

  • Very nice place and great experience, thank you very much Jacques and Stéphanie !

  • A magnificent view.
The impression to make wild camping while feeling in security thanks to the kindness of the lady having welcomed us.

We are already thinking of coming back!
