Description

On the edge of the Rambouillet national forest, you'll find this house. At the end of a cul-de-sac you'll find a large garden. In this garden you'll find a vegetable patch. Next to the vegetable garden you'll find sheep and cats. Next to these animals you can pitch your tent. Breathe and sleep. This is the home of the forest.

The setting

In the heart of the rustling forest, you'll be far from car traffic, despite the proximity of the N10 to Rambouillet. The garden is surrounded by trees and very bright. Country and woodland atmosphere.

The spots

Access: the end of the garden touches the edge of the forest, where the cycle path starts. To pitch your tent: the trees provide shade. The terrain is flat. The house and tent site are easily accessible (there's a place to park your car). The plot is one hectare in size, so there's plenty of room for large tents. The tent site can be located next to a fixed campfire (limited supply).

The sanitary facilities

In the horse stables, you'll find a sewage system that allows you to wash yourself with a jet of water (although it's cold, so you may be able to use a solar shower). As for the toilets, you'll have access to those in the house, as they're located in the entrance hall.

The amenities

We can give you the wifi code for internet access. No kitchen, but a campfire can be provided for an extra charge. For electricity, depending on location, you may have access to a multi-socket. You can place your bikes under the stables, so they are sheltered. If you're bringing horses, there's a stall and two stalls nearby.

The activities

Lots of hiking. Ponds of Holland leisure center. Fishing bridges. Equestrian center nearby. Cycle paths and footpaths. Château de Rambouillet is 12 kilometers from the house.

Other things

The presence of a pond and the forest on the edge of the park bring a few little pests, like our dear friends the mosquitoes. So don't forget your mosquito repellent!

Rules

We don't throw cigarette butts in the grass or any other polluting waste - we can provide a rubbish bag if required. Please note that there is a pond in the garden for children under ten. Hours of operation will be determined on a case-by-case basis according to availability. However, in the morning, please leave before 10am.

Extras

  • Fiona did not receive us despite the confirmation of reservation that you sent us.
All this is not very serious

  • Excellent smiling and available welcome in a beautiful setting. A nice family surrounded by their animals who knows how to put their guests at ease.

  • The setting is nice. For the camping with tents it is not ideal, there are horses, there is a pond so there are many mosquitoes. If it rains all night the next day you are in the water because the ground is not drained. It was indicated independent shower in the advertisement and at our arrival no shower. Conclusion for the camping with tents it is not the Ideal, for the framework and the geographical situation it is interesting.

  • Very nice and thoughtful welcome from Fiona's family.
Very pleasant setting on the edge of the forest with pony, sheep and even some chickens...
I didn't find the Home Camper website very explicit on the presentation of the services offered since I thought I would have access to a shower after a day of cycling...
Fiona's mother exceptionally gave me access to theirs. A big thank you to her and a big thank you also for the loan of the mosquito repellent really essential in this area...

  • Welcomed in music (I am a musician) by his brother, it was great, I spent a very pleasant night near the horse Hannibal. I was able to exchange a few words with the whole family and I plan to return one day.

  • Fiona and Laurent are very attentive to their guests, the place is beautiful, calm and well maintained.

We had a great time, there is plenty of room to walk around the building and enjoy the animals.

Thank you for your welcome and your availability!

  • Warm welcome in a beautiful garden surrounded by animals!
    Thank you!

  • Welcoming and thoughtful hosts, and a big and cute garden (the lighted garland, guinguette atmosphere, killed me!). It was a luxury to be lent a tent and to make a fire in the garden. Thank you Fiona, and good luck!

  • Great welcome! Very nice place, quiet and pleasant, to spend an evening by the fire and sleep. The hosts are very available and considerate.
