Description

Our Mas also offers a Bed and Breakfast. But the 10.000 m² of garden also allow us to welcome campers and we are delighted to be able to share with them a unique, enchanting setting and a family welcome all year long.

The setting

Our house is on the top of the hill : breathtaking panoramic view !
This is also where the swimming pool is located...

Then we go down (on foot) towards the ends of the property by successive terraces. The large trees allow you to choose your level of sunshine: umbrella pine, oaks, eucalyptus, cedars, plum trees, cherry trees and other fruit trees. The further you go into the field, the wilder it is. Silence reigns over our countryside.
The village is only 5 minutes away on foot, and the Hérault river just after.

The spots

On 1 hectare of land, we favor a low density of campers (for their well-being).
We have 5 zones, terraced, because on the hillside.

- Zone 0, close to the house and the pool. Flat area where you can put your camper and (possibly) 1 small tent. Shady area. Water tap and electric plug.

- Zone 1, just below, with the vegetable garden, pine forest, and a shaded area for 1 or 2 tents. Camping table + dry toilets N°1. Water tap and electric plug.

- Zone 2, still below, for 1 or 2 tents, with outside showers (x2) + Dry toilets N°2 + Camping table. Water tap and electric plug.

- The zone 3, still below, is a fenced vegetable garden : no tent.

- Zone 4, still below, is a shaded wilderness area, which we also propose for tents, if the year is not too mosquito prone. Drinking water tap in this zone 4. Electricity (email hidden)For all: large private parking for vehicles.

The sanitary facilities

2 dry toilets are available, as well as 2 outdoor showers, water at room temperature (in 2021). We are planning a solar hot water system for 2022.
Several water taps are available near the pitches.
For a real hot water shower (in cold season only) we can lend one of our bathrooms.

The amenities

A large shared fridge (fresh + freezer), dedicated to the campers, is accessible at any time, without disturbing the owners.

For a WiFi access, you have to get closer to the house.
Various electricity points are available outside: it is possible to pull an extension cord to recharge electronic equipment.

The activities

In the summer you can have access to our family pool.
We offer breakfast in the morning as an option.
We also offer an optional family dinner in the evening.

Other things

Now retired, we decided to leave the city for a return to nature.
We made the choice to work for a greater food autonomy.
That's why we became permaculturists, with currently 2 vegetable gardens of 300m² and 100m², and a forest garden of 900m² in progress.

Respect for nature, respect for mankind, and sharing of the abundance ...
If you are sensitive to mosquitoes, please bring burnable tortillons or lotions : depending on the year, mosquitoes are more or less active ;-)

Rules

We are non-smoking, but smokers are of course accepted with the usual precautions due to the surrounding scrubland.
We are a family, so campers will try to respect our family constraints.
Children will be welcomed with pleasure. Animals will be managed by their owner in a "family way".

Extras

Possibility of breakfast (€8 / person)

Breakfast is optional: French, copious, with homemade jams and pastries.
Option "Family dinner" for 15€/person. Option "wine at table" : +10€.

  • What a lovely place! This quite and peaceful place is located and entirely surrounded by the hills and gives you the perfect remote camping experience, although the house of the host is just 100 meters afar. The place consists four different plateaus and we had one level for ourselves. There were several watertaps with drinkable water, two simple toilets, two showers (during the day they would get warmer because of the sun), enough spots in the shade and a swimming pool. There also was a power outlet available close to our camp space. We had enough space to set up our camp and even had a picknick table to prepare our foods and have diner. We could use the host's fridge, which was really nice. The area was absolutely amazing. Located close to the river Hérault, the beautiful hills and some really cosy towns (Saint Guilhem de Desert is an absolute recommendation) there is enough to do. Jean-Luc was a friendly host and would love to tell us about the place and the area. All in all it had everything we needed.

    There are some sidenotes:
In the evenings some wild boars would appear. Not close to the tent, but they were definitely close and would try to steal some of the tomatoes and other vegetables. They would not show themselves and they were far from harmful, but can be a little scaring in the beginning. Also we thought the price of 15 euros per person per night + an additional 14 euros for service fee was a little bit too much for what the place had to offer.

  • A perfect experience at Jean-Luc's, who is a very welcoming and caring host, not to mention a very rejuvenating location. We would have stayed several days, thank you Jean Juc!

  • Superb location, very pleasant welcome, would do it again without hesitation ???? and in addition tomatoes to fall to the ground ???? thank you very much Jean-Luc ( we are always volunteers to keep the house if you have to go on vacation ???? )

  • A wonderful, friendly place to stop!

  • We had booked two nights with our converted van. We were very well received by Jean-Luc, who showed us around his beautiful property. However, we were quickly disappointed by several points. We'd been seduced by the photos and hadn't paid much attention to the location: although the place looks like it's in the middle of nowhere, it's actually right on the outskirts of the village. Our sleep was disturbed by the music of the village festival until 3am. We had not been warned of this event. The site for the van (zone 0) is right next to the owner's house, and is less charming than on the photos (surrounded by the garden shed, a large metal container, bikes and other debris). Also, lots of mosquitoes in the late afternoon/evening. We spent a pleasant early afternoon around the pool, which has a superb view, but we soon had to share it with his family and 5 grandchildren. In short, a rather mitigated stay and a really excessive value for money in our opinion. We left after the first night.

  • What a haven of peace! A very warm welcome from Jean Luc. We can only recommend this place if you're looking for calm and serenity!

  • A beautiful setting, a warm welcome...a very nice stopover.

  • We love this place. Nice guy and speaking English.
We learned a bit about permaculture and we feld a lot of inspiration for our own activities to grow your own food.
Thanks a lot and hope to see you again.
And close to a nice village with a local butcher and 2 boulangerie.

  • We spent one night at Jean - Luc. The host is a very nice and polite man. We felt at home right away. The terrain is fantastic. We were there with our Defender with roof tent. The breakfast was very good, because it was in the heated house. We just say thank you again for the pleasant time.

  • If you want to disconnect and refocus in the middle of nature, don't hesitate, you are in the right place! Jean Luc gave us a warm welcome! Our only regret was the absence of the sun which did not allow us to take advantage of the swimming pool, so we will have to come back!

  • Pleasant place in the middle of nature. We came with our dog, we picked up the droppings, but difficult to find them all in 1 hectare in the wild (reproach of the owner) The photo of the pool does not correspond at all to reality.

  • Our short notice request was quickly answered and we were warmly welcomed by Jean-Luc. On the site we immediately felt at home and enjoyed the peace and nature.
    Merci !!! Nathalie and Beni

  • Same as before ???? Thanks again for your welcome!

  • Jean-Luc is a wonderful and kind host, I highly recommend this little corner of paradise, thank you, we had a great time!

  • What a great experience. Nice spacious place for the tent which felt like paradise. Thank you Jean Luc and family for your hospitality and sharing this special place with us. Hopefully someday again

  • Posed for a week with the vito mercedes in a haven of peace and sweetness. A magical place made of images and memories almost out of time. A haven of nature, everything is nature, the people, the environment, . At jean luc's place we feel good! Between a luxuriant garden, animals, enriching meetings. Go and live this magic moment

  • Superb night, the land is fantastic, the pool very pleasant and Jean Luc is very welcoming,

  • We had an excellent stay at Jean Luc's place. Large, quiet and well-shaded site with a beautiful view. Showers, dry toilets, fridge, summer bed, electricity, lanterns, pool... everything is perfect. Jean Luc is both present and very helpful. The gorges of the Hérault river offer beautiful swimming nearby. The Cevennes and the cirque of Navacelle or the old stones of Saint Guilhem le Désert delighted us. Possibility to share the table d'hôtes. In short, we recommend you very warmly. Thanks to Jean Luc for these beautiful moments.

  • We slept one night in Jean Luc's garden. Space under the pines, shaded. Dry toilets and showers are available and very clean. Swimming pool more than pleasant. And as a bonus, a home-made and copious breakfast! Thanks to JeanLuc for his welcome.

  • Very pleasant place at a few minutes of the center, the river, the caves (a little further) and the whole with foot, with calms, we had a space for our van and a tent or we were very well installed held by a charming family.

Thank you very much for your welcome.

    We highly recommend it !

  • It was a very pleasant stay. The site is very quiet, very well laid out and Jean Luc is available for any question.
    We recommend it !

  • The place is beautiful and quiet, I slept very well. Everything was functional and the reception was very good.

  • Jean Luc is very friendly he welcomed us and explained everything and his house is really very charming with a beautiful landscape and a magnificent panoramic view and the pool was also just at the top 26 degrees ???? seriously very nice experience to do again

  • Super reception of Jean-Luc for a 1st experience concerning us.

Calm, sympathy and hospitality characterize this place.

    Thank you very much !

  • We stayed one night with Jean-Luc. We were very well received, the property is very well equipped, quiet and made to make the stay comfortable. We also enjoyed the pool, which was very nice in this weather.

  • We spent a pleasant moment at Jean Luc's place.
The setting is magnificent, in the nature, near the henhouse and the vegetable garden.
    Restful corner

  • Thank you for everything

  • Very good welcome and relaxing place.
Ideal with children. I warmly recommend the breakfast!

  • Lamentable stay. When a site is full you should say so instead of trying to make money. Location at the bottom of the site infested with mosquitoes requiring long walks.
Hateful reception, swimming pool looking very good on the pictures but in bad condition and occupied by Jean Luc's large family who apparently did not learn the basics of politeness.
After very nice experiences with the platform, this one was a cold shower.

  • I had a very good stay with charming hosts. The land is clean and very well equipped (water, electricity and sanitary facilities). We are in the nature while having the conveniences within reach. The hosts are very welcoming. If you like authenticity and permaculture, Jean Luc will be of very good advice and the atmosphere of the meals is warm. A must do again.

  • A warm welcome, Jean Luc and his wife are very kind. They listen to you if you need anything.
The land is large, clean, well maintained.
    Thank you for everything

  • The garden of Jean-Luc and his family is a little paradise. Everything is nicely laid out and well thought out, with love in the details (windows in the showers overlooking the forest, for example). The vegetable gardens are impressive and Jean-Luc and his wife were very welcoming and pleasant. We really appreciated the different places to rest in the garden. The village with all the small shops is only 3 minutes away on foot. If we come back one day in the region, we will certainly return to Jean-Luc's place. Strong recommendation!

  • Super welcome at Jean-Luc's place! Little corner of paradise and sweetness.

  • We spent a very pleasant week on Jean-Luc's property. Natural setting, calm. Spacious pitch, dry toilets, showers in the open air.
Access to the pool and a common fridge.
We recommend for a family stay.
    Alexis and Sophie.

  • Very good stay with Jean Luc,
We were warmly welcomed in this eco place.
Jean Luc is attentive to the well-being of his guests.
    Pleasant and shaded swimming pool.
    Calmness very appreciable.
    We recommend this address!

  • Impeccable stay at Anne and Jean-Luc. We found what we were looking for: Space, calm, kindness.

  • Great place
    Great hosts
    Go there!

  • Very nice and soothing place with a beautiful view on the nature. Jean Luc is attentive and pleasant, everything is very well thought out for the campers.
    Thank you for your hospitality!

  • We spent a pleasant stay of 10 days in a very nice setting, some arrangements remain to be adapted according to the number of people on site (management of sanitary facilities), discussed with the Host who showed himself attentive as a new host in Home Camper, to improve this environment, during the stay.
At the same time isolated and at 3 minutes walk from the village, the site is in all points very pleasant. Be careful, the configuration of the camp does not allow you to put your vehicle near your tent.

  • An excellent 1st HomeCamper experience in a converted van. Our very first two nights were quiet and pleasant. We slept with the doors ajar to let the air flow without any problem. Jean Luc, his family, and the other HomeCampers present were respectful and very polite. We highly recommend it, and will be back with great pleasure!

  • A beautiful rustic place to spend the vacations: a beautiful setting, a superb swimming pool, a shady location, close to amenities and the river. Jean-Luc welcomed us very well, he listened to us and was very accommodating. In spite of a little difficult cohabitation with the mosquitoes, we had a pleasant stay!

  • We would like to thank Anne and Jean-Luc for this very pleasant stay. The location was top notch and the welcome excellent. Jean-Luc cares about his guests and takes great care of them! The breakfast ..... A killer !!!
Hope to come back next year for a longer period !

  • Superb location with lots of activities nearby and the village just a stone's throw away
    Thank you Jean Luc

  • Jean Luc is someone who is considerate, accommodating and helpful ???? I had a very good stay in his garden in the middle of nature.
I recommend this home camping without hesitation.
The garden is less than 15 minutes walk from the river ????

Small ps: Think of the citronella if you do not know how to cohabit with our friends the mosquitoes ????

  • Jean Luc is welcoming and has such an interesting life path. Lover of nature, of people. Without a doubt I recommend this place.
This breakfast is well worth the price. Home made. And we even had the chance to leave with some tomatoes of the garden.
    Thank you jean Luc.

  • Very nice place, ok facilities, attentive host, I recommend

  • We had the pleasure of staying 3 nights with Jean-Luc. The communication and the welcome were excellent.
The location accessible by van/camping car is perhaps less charming than the others because it is less wild, but the whole property is superb.
The outdoor showers have cold water but the view from the showers is great and the southern climate means that the water temperature is not a problem! We had access to the house bathroom for our one year old's bath.
A large fridge/freezer is available for self-service. Electricity is not mentioned but was offered to us by Jean-Luc.

  • We spent 2 very pleasant nights in simplicity and authenticity. A warm and welcoming family with whom we could share a very good dinner with local products (partly from the garden^^). Thanks a lot!
    Laetitia and Gaëtan

  • If you are looking for a total connection with nature, this is the IDEAL place (in capital letters!): wild yet intelligently laid out, nicely furnished shower in the middle of nature (don't be afraid of warm water), dry toilets, water points.
A green setting with "a thousand" birdsongs, "a thousand" varieties of trees, chickens, the rooster and, as a bonus, the absolute benevolence of the owners and the opportunity to cool off in the pool. Robinson Crusoe (in the woods) in luxury mode! :-D
Everything is very close, whether it is the shops or the remarkable natural sites.
Run there quickly !!!! before the place is taken :-D
