Description

FOR THE 2024 Olympics, there's still room QUE for tents.
A permaculture micro-farm set in the Chevreuse valley. Numerous walks in the vicinity.

The setting

We're at the beginning of the countryside after the city. Two kilometers from the train and Route Nationale 10.
All around us, fields, farm buildings and 55 hectares of forest. We have our goats look after the home-camping area, so brambles and nettles can be part of the scenery.

The spots

We only have 3 camping-car and tent spaces.
Pets are allowed.
However, neither humans nor animals are allowed in the farm's forest, which we try to keep as wild as possible.
Vehicles are parked behind the farmhouse near the fields.)
Slight views over the fields and the village, which is 1.2 kilometers from the farm (20 minutes on foot).
Fairly quiet, except at rush hour (you can still hear the birds, but sometimes the main road) and, unfortunately, at certain times of the day, the work being carried out by my neighbors.
The tents are set up on the forest side, a few meters from the farmhouse.

The sanitary facilities

Independent toilets and showers to be shared with other campers, with free access during the day and (email hidden)Schedules to be defined together on arrival according to your needs. Access to water and electricity close to the caravans. One of the sanitary facilities is a dry toilet accessible 24 hours a day.

The amenities

Electricity and water outside. Bring an extension cord and/or garden hose.
Pets allowed, but not access to the woods.
Drinking water (except in winter) and electricity 24/24.
Private parking.
Independent access, the farm is (email hidden)Train, line N for Rambouillet, Versailles, Paris (25 min walk or 10 min bike/car).
Possibility of buying farm produce according to availability (spring and summer).

The activities

In the area : Fishing - Hiking - Biking - Farm visit - Cultural visit

Other things

Brunch available for 18 euros, with 95% local produce.

Rules

Arrival is from 18:30 on weekdays (except for farm visits from 16:00) and arrivals on weekends and departures in general are to be arranged together according to your travel schedule. You will have to pass through the neighboring property to access the farm via a servitude road (the Château de l'Artoire). Please respect the neighborhood and do not stop or walk there.

CONDITIONS :
The farmhouse is located in a rural area, 2 kilometers from the train (line N Paris - Montparnasse) which takes you to many different places in France.

ATTENTION: there are several watering holes on the estate and a balustrade being repaired at the Dovecote. They are not fenced in, so please be careful with children and animals.
Parties are not permitted.
Please respect the peace and quiet of the neighborhood, and walk only on the grounds and in the neighboring state forests.

Smokers must be very careful. Ashtrays with water will be provided close to the buildings. No smoking in the wooded area. The risk of fire is high. Please be vigilant and only barbecue in the designated areas.
We have installed garbage cans, so please sort your rubbish carefully.

  • Super stay as the first Foix

  • Super welcome and super arrangement the stay was at the top thank you

  • Top-notch one-night stopover. A very warm welcome and Gersende's responsiveness. It was unthinkable not to leave with one of the products on sale from the farm. The fresh goat cheese was excellent. Thank you for this break.

  • Gersende is a very welcoming and helpful host! The farmhouse and the products offered are very good. We recommend it!

  • Gersende is adorable, we were super well received, indoor bathroom, common space, a place to make fire, goats very Sympa, and possibility of buying vegetables cheese and products of the farm ...
We pitched our tent in a very pleasant part of the forest, it was really perfect !!!!
Thank you very much, we recommend ++++ and we'll be back!

  • Price too high for the services provided. No toilets, just a cold water tap and a very dirty table, a 220 V socket that was not powered (we noticed it when we were leaving) Only the shower was acceptable. This place seems very little frequented. We stayed there for 2 nights at the end of July.

  • We spent 2 nights camping at the fermette de l'Artoire. Everything was perfect, in a very natural setting but with all amenities (shower, electricity, campfire), a fabulous breakfast and Gersende's warm welcome. We recommend it!

  • We had a great weekend with Gersende, who was very welcoming.
Be careful, though: the rooms are clean, but you can't go to the toilet without shoes. Or the nettles will leave you with a stinging memory.
So watch out when staying with small children.

  • The site of the farmhouse is charming and the setting safe. I pitched my tent in the little wood between 2 oak trees. Gersende is very welcoming and the premises very clean. A great experience! Thank you

  • Gersende is really very pleasant and welcoming. It was a first experience to sleep in the woods, but you can also sleep on the grass. It was a very nice experience. I'll definitely go back. Thank you

  • Very warm welcome from Gersende, who let me take a shower inside. Excellent breakfast, 95% farm products (except bread) in 1 beautiful dining room of this beautiful building.

  • Great meeting with Gersende who is a very welcoming host. The road to the campsite was a bit flooded with the recent rains, so I was able to park my car close to the site and dry. Direct access to the dry toilets and the common room with bathroom. I'm going back next week for a week and this time I'll enjoy the camping area with trees.

  • We discovered on the spot that the place to install a van was facing big works, stuck to a wall, not really close to the forest (works indicated on the ad but we did not expect this).
We could not access the site visible in the picture, only a small area was accessible because of the mud that made the campsite on the edge of the forest impassable (accessible only for tents).
Lots of brambles, not very suitable for children
We were able to arrive only at 6 pm, which seemed "late" (we were informed by Gersende)
Hot shower and sanitary facilities were clean, however

  • A very warm welcome and an unparalleled breakfast offer, delighted. For my first HomeCamper, it was a success. Many thanks to Gersende.

  • Thanks to Gersende for welcoming us. We were able to camp quietly and in a very beautiful setting. No problem to communicate and organize ourselves beforehand. She was very accommodating with our large group.
    I highly recommend her.

  • Great welcome! The camping site in the forest is very nice, you can hear all the animal noises (wild boars, deer, owls). The small permaculture farm of Gersende is very nice to visit and the breakfast is delicious!

  • Perfect night in the quiet and the visit of the farm was very nice.

Gersende is very kind and welcomed us very well.

It's the best to find such places near Paris!

  • We spent two nights at Gersende's. The place is very beautiful and the welcome is excellent, nothing to complain about. The camping place is a bit far from the farm at the entrance of the wood: we really appreciated to sleep completely in the nature (the counterpart is that the bathroom/toilet is not just next door). If you are looking for a bivouac atmosphere with the amenities of a campground, this is the perfect solution.

  • Very good experience.
We were very well received, the setting is very pleasant, a very pretty farmhouse, the castle and the pond nearby, the forest, a real change of scenery.

The camping site in the forest is ideally located at the edge of the wood.
The access to the conveniences (shower, toilets, common living room) is easy.

I recommend, for lovers of camping in nature.

  • Late arrival exhausted by traffic jams, nice welcome from Gersende, pleasant setting which will be magnificent when the construction work is finished, the pond, the forest... Electrical connection was perfect, water pipe too short to fill up the tank but I didn't need it.

  • We spent 2 superb days. The setting is pleasant, the visit of the farm a beautiful discovery that has much more to my son of 5 years and my niece of 10 years. We learned some permaculture techniques and had the privilege to feed the kids. Very nice first camping experience. Gersende was very welcoming and available. Thank you for this good time spent in the middle of nature. I highly recommend it.
