Description

Camping Le Peux is a spacious, friendly campsite of 6 pitches set on an active small holding in rural France.

The setting

We are quite rural, the nearest small supermarket is about 20 minutes away. The main shopping town of La Soutterraine is about 35 minute drive.

The spots

We have 6 ptiches that are large 12m x 10m, 2 have electric which there is an extra charge for and 4 are without. The charge for electricity is 7 euros per night (payable to us on arrival).

The sanitary facilities

We have a newly constructed shower bloc, comprising of one shower, 1 toilet, 1 wash basin and 1 washing up sink. Shaver point. Outside cold water tap.

The amenities

We have a Barn room where you will find a settee, table & chairs, books, football table, pool table and dart board. Mobile phones can be charged in the barn at the charger point. There will also be a fridge, microwave and kettle. Internet is available but you would have to be very close to the main house to pick it up.

The activities

There is plenty of things and places to visit around the area. Lac St Pardoux where you will find a range of water sports, swimming pool, boats and beaches. Canoeing about 30 minutes away. The towns of Le Dorat, Montmorillon, Bellac, Montrol Senard, Mortemart, Oradour sur Glane are all easily reached by car. We also have a Buddhist Retreat within 20 minute drive that is well worth a visit.

Rules

The campsite is open every day from 8am to 8pm. Well behaved pets are welcome, but please tidy up after your pet, a bin will be provided. There is an extra charge of 3 euros per dog per night (payable to us on arrival). We can provide bread, croissants and pains au chocolat but they must be ordered the night before.

  • The welcome by Tom and Karen was great! The pitches are in a pasture delimited by a short mowing. Very original and very nice. The facilities include a games room with a refrigerator (Tom can refreeze your ice cream on request) and a table soccer. The bathroom is very spacious with all the comfort. It is very quiet in this place. At the time of departure Tom and Karen offered us eggs from their chickens. I thought that was very nice. Don't hesitate! If you are in the area or if you want to stay a few days in the country, go for it!

  • Tom and Karen are excellent, friendly hosts. With the possibility of renting equipment (tent, mattress). The pitches are very, very spacious, well maintained and flat. The sanitary facilities are new and very clean. The big plus, especially on rainy days, a relaxation area in a barn with baby games... fridge, kettle and microwave very practical. I highly recommend, nice day

  • Beautiful and spacious camping. Good facilities for people who travel light. Really good and clean shower and toilet. Loved my stay here. Owners are very welcoming and friendly!
