Description

Come and enjoy one or more nights in a Sahara tent opposite Mont Aiguille!

We're at the start of several hikes, with access to the Himalayan footbridges just a 40-minute walk away.

The setting

You can enjoy the setting and the view.
We have dogs, cats, a dwarf pig, ducks and chickens that you can come and see without worry.

The hens, cats and dogs are free to roam the grounds! and are particularly sociable (if not glue-potty :P ).
We don't accept dogs, even though we love them.

For horse lovers, there's a riding school right next door.

There is little or no traffic (tractors may pass by from time to time).
And horse-drawn carriages.

There's a Montessori school below our house that turns into a day-care center for children for 3 weeks in July. There's a bit of noise during the day (the children play and may pass by not far from the teepee), but in the evening they don't stay up too late, and the atmosphere becomes quiet again.

The path in front of the house leads to a nature reserve.

The spots

This is a 20m2 Sahara tent with a 140cm bed.
The bed has a box spring and mattress.

We can add small mattresses for children.

There's a small table with two chairs inside.

The sanitary facilities

Sanitary facilities are easily accessible.

Dry toilets, bathroom with shower (with hot water) in the courtyard, open 24 hours a day.

Accessible at all times.

Washing products must not contain plastic (microbeads).

Marseille soap or equivalent mandatory for showers and dishes.

The amenities

The tent has sockets inside. (for charging a phone or putting in a small light).

We can also lend you a barbecue.

Electric barbecues are forbidden!

A washbasin and small fridge are available 24/24 in the courtyard.

We have a shelter to park motorcycles if needed.

The activities

We have the Lac du Monteynard next door, with its Himalayan footbridges.
A horse-riding center, and plenty of hiking trails.
The little village of Mens is 20 minutes away, with its night markets and shops!

Below is a link to the tourist office with local activities:

Other things

If you wish, you can take part in closing the hen houses, and walk around our grounds with the pond and vegetable gardens at certain times.

Rules

Smokers are welcome (except in the tent, of course) as long as they don't leave their cigarette butts on the pitch ^^.

As far as garbage is concerned, we'll give you a bucket for food scraps (which we'll feed to the chickens and the pig) and we also have a composter.

The rest will have to be sorted (the garbage cans are at the entrance to the hamlet).

Dogs are not allowed.

Children are welcome - we have 3 of them, and they'll be delighted to welcome guests their own age!

You have to drive through the little hamlet to find us!
Children live here, please drive at 20 max in the hamlet ☺️

Thank you very much!

  • We spent 4 nights in one of Steffy's tipis and loved our stay! We were welcomed very warmly by the whole family (including dogs, cats, chickens, pigs and ducks). The teepee was very comfortable, in short great place, great host. Only downside... our stay was too short!
Thanks for everything and see you next time ;-)

  • Very welcoming and kind hosts. A soothing setting. Animals, joy and good meals. A real pleasant and lively sharing. Do not hesitate, it is only pleasure.

  • A nice welcome, beautiful moments of sharing, a great setting, a nice night in the teepees, beautiful hikes and the evening meals were simple but good, from the garden and home-made. ???? Only one regret, we would have liked to stay one more day ???? Thank you !

  • On my way to the south I wanted to cut the trip in two and my intention was to offer my children two nights a little atypical. I found at Steffy's exactly what I was looking for and it was magnificent! ????
the place is magic, the animals are very nice, Steffy and her family are very nice and the ponies of the riding school next door are very nice. What more could I ask for? it was really a short, intense, memorable and pleasant stay, that I can only recommend.
Thank you Steffy for this beautiful gift. ????????

  • Thank you to the whole family, we had a great time with you.
You have been with the small care!
I wish Maxwell to find a lover in the fall!

    Thanks again :)

  • Excellent welcome! If I can make a small remark about the dry toilets, if I have absolutely nothing against the principle, I think it would be desirable that they are emptied every day, especially when there is more than one family on the site. Furthermore, in the case of the reception of a special person on the campsite, like my son, therefore with a risk of noise, it would be good to warn the other families present at the same time. Thank you again, we liked it very much anyway, even if, with our son, it was a little "special"... Good luck. TM

  • We had a very good stay despite the rain. The hosts are very welcoming and share with us their love of nature with animals in this beautiful setting. Ideally located to be quiet and close to a beautiful village and the hiking trail to access the bridges of the lake of monteynard.

  • Hello,

Thanks to Stéphanie for her kindness, our daughter loved her stay, surrounded by animals.
With a wink and a caress to sky in passing.
    A change of scenery guaranteed.
    Good continuation.

  • Beyond a magnificent night sleeping in a teepee under a starry sky that takes your breath away, the experience of home camping that my daughter and I lived at your place is much more than a beautiful evening, I would qualify it more as an extraordinary human adventure... I wish you beautiful meetings with your next tenants, we will not fail to return to see you as soon as possible .... Ps: I took 20 min to find the ⛵ :) and without forest road ;););)

Huge kisses to all your big brotherhood (even the pig) ;)

  • An unforgettable encounter! An atypical accommodation, this family and their animals put you at ease from the first day. An ideal setting for lovers of large green spaces in relief, hiking trails to do ... without hesitation to repeat, stay too short!

  • We spent two nights at Steffi's house, in one of her tepees. The place is extraordinary, everything is very beautiful, the weekend was very pleasant and exotic.

Our hosts were very welcoming, very nice, interesting and discreet.

The meal was excellent. We really liked everything.

We will come back with pleasure.

    Thanks again for the stay.

  • Great weekend at Steffy's. The tipis are very comfortable with a good bed and the feeling of being outside while being protected from the dew and insects. The view is sublime, quiet and rejuvenating. The meal cooked by Steffy was beautiful, simple and full of flavors with cheese and milk from her goats, plants and vegetables from the garden. The breakfast was to our taste, the best! Steffy took the time to introduce us all the animals and their names (we love animals). Steffy and her companion are vigilant in the respect of the environment and generous. We discussed a long time, they are very warm, benevolent and worry to know if everything is ok for us. The dry toilets and bathroom are very clean. The children participate in the exchanges and it is very pleasant. Around, the walks are magnificent, a belvedere at 180°, the lake... We were two but the place is also suitable for a couple with two children or two couples. I highly recommend it and I will come back with pleasure!

  • top hosts in a beautiful area

  • Great experience at the tipis!
We were welcomed like friends, we were put at ease immediately.
Everything was perfect: the tipis, the delicious meals and breakfast, the discoveries, the sharing, the dessert in front of the sunset...
We will definitely come back, my daughters loved the animals and the whole experience.
Thank you for allowing us to create great memories
    See you soon

  • Crossing the Alps by bike I had the opportunity to be lodged by Steffy in Roissard.

I received a great welcome from the whole family and had a very nice time sharing!

The natural setting, the originality of the bivouac in a teepee and the presence of the animals made the stay even better.

I will not hesitate to come back and I highly recommend it!

  • steffy is super nice, top location, quiet, isolated, home made dinner, vegetal cooking, breakfast top.
    to reserve quickly.
