Description

A furnished 2 person off-grid bell tent on the riverbank in the grounds of a converted watermill. One of just 3 in a field of over an acre.

The setting

Set on the riverbank in a secluded field behind our large vegetable garden. Parking is on site but vehicles are not allowed onto the field. We are a 15 minute walk away from the nearest village where there is a bakers, butchers and grocery store.

The spots

A 4m2 bell tent with beds, hanging rails, chairs, storage, solar lights. Bedding not provided, so guests should bring their own duvets/sleeping bags, pillows etc. Hire of these is available for an extra cost.

The sanitary facilities

Each tent has it's own compost toilet adjacent to the tent. A dedicated shower stall is available in the main building - open between 8.00 am and 10.00pm. There is also shared flushable toilet with handbasin.

The amenities

Cooking facilities are provided for each tent in their own gazebo. Gas burner and BBQ, coolbox, crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. Table and chairs and sun loungers are also provided. Solar lights. Mains electricity is only available in the main building where you will also have use of a fridge and charging point for mobile devices. WIFI is available near to the buildings.

The activities

This is a small adult only site set on 10 acres of grounds. A perfect spot to relax and unwind. Locally there are several vineyards, the town of La Chartre sur le Loir is a 5 minute drive away and there is a lovely sandy lakeside beach at Marcon which is a 10 minute drive away. The Forest of Berce offers lovely walks or cycle routes.

Other things

The site is in the grounds of our converted watermill which also has 4 B&B rooms and a small 2 bedroomed gite. The glamping is only available in summer months. Guests need to bring their own bedding - mattress protector and bottom sheet are provided FOC.

Rules

Vehicles must be left in the parking area - there is no vehicular access to the tents. Arrival times should, if possible, be between 1600 hrs and 2000 hrs. Check out must be by 1000 hrs to allow enough time for airing before the next guests. Guests are asked to leave the tent and cooking areas clean and tidy, and ensure the barbeque is cleaned before departure. Access to the outbuilding which incorporates the showers, washing up facilities, fridges and toilet is available between 0800 hrs and 2200 hrs. Smoking is permitted in any outside area - strictly no smoking in the tent!! Outside footwear should be removed in the tent.
