Description

We welcome you at the edge of Bois Barbet, in the quiet rear of a family home in Normandy.

Come and stay under your own canvas (or in a 2-person tent or a 3-person tent on loan from us) or in your camper van, and perhaps hear the foghorns of the boats on the Seine in the morning...

Our gamping site is ideal for young and old, students studying in Rouen or at the MIN, or if you're invited to a wedding in the area...

It's also perfect accommodation for concert-goers at Le 106, the Zénith de Rouen or the Théâtre des Arts de Rouen opera house!

We're just 5mn from Dock76 (5mn by car), and 15mn by public transport from the KINDARENA stop leading to the quays of the Seine for the Armada.

The setting

The exact address is given during the exchanges, we are located 4mn from Avenue Bicheray.
The house on the edge of the forest is located at the top of this business park.

For campers, you'll be able to sleep under the stars on our 800m2 plot of forest, out of a total surface area of 1500m2.

A shady, north-facing corner where little squirrels, chickadees and the occasional cat or two from the Lotissement stroll about.

The enclosed plot is surrounded by bamboo, oak, hornbeam, beech, pine, hazelnut, maple, cherry, pink and blue hydrangeas, rose bushes... in total tranquility.

We're a 5-minute drive from the quays of Rouen for restaurants, concerts at Le 106, the barge La Bodéga, the Docks76 shopping center etc...

The spots

We accept up to 8 campers, 4 tents maximum or 3 tents and two camper vans on our gravel driveway.

The wooded site is on a slope, but that doesn't prevent you from pitching your tents and enjoying the garden furniture.

The sanitary facilities

You'll have access to a separate dry toilet in an outdoor shed, with a sink in the basement for washing your hands. We leave hydro-alcoholic gel in the shed until a sink is installed.

We offer a shower in our family bathroom for campers with no means of washing (priority to tent campers, then minivan travelers). Please dry the bath mat on the bathtub or on the open window sill for ventilation.

The amenities

We rent several tents (2 or 3 people) or a two-bedroom Arpenaz family tent for 4 people for €5 per night. Please specify your requirements when booking. You'll need to set it up and take it down, so plan to arrive at the start of the day.

During your stay, you will have 24/24 access to :
- a separate fridge-freezer,
- a sink for washing up (remember to bring your own sponge and washing-up liquid)
- for children, a small tree house, swing and crocodile swing at the front of the garden.

Shared: the bathtub on the ground floor of the house

If it's not temperamental, an outside socket for recharging your phones will be indicated to you on your arrival so that you can access it easily in the carriage house.

We always provide in the price of your stay
- garden table with 4 chairs, 3 deckchairs
- washing line
- ashtrays

In addition :
- 8kg washing machine for
3 euros
- barbecue 2 euros/day or 3.50 euros with charcoal supplied (the barbecue can be used at a specific location to avoid taking risks in the forest)

We'll need to check with you about shower times.

We do not supply towels.

Rentals available:
for trips to the wild boar forest, or to Montigny
- children's bike trailer up to 40kg (this cart can also carry your shopping)
- beach cart, 40kg capacity, can accommodate two children, supplied with rain gear and carry bag
- men's mountain bike with integrated baby seat from 6 months
- women's bike with integrated wicker basket
- our 7-seater car for trips to the seaside
- 2 isofix child car seats

The activities

At the gateway to Rouen's historic center, you'll have the pleasure of discovering the city of a hundred bell towers, the Rue du Gros Horloge, the shopping arcades, the many bars, restaurants, pubs and nightclubs, the pedestrian walkways...

Also just a stone's throw away, you'll find Docks76 (shopping center, Gaumont cinema...), the Aqualoup community pool open Sunday mornings and afternoons, the François Mitterrand cultural center (media library), a go-karting center, a riding school...

All of Rouen is accessible by bus, with the Jean Jaurès stop (Teor T3 direction Monet) just a 5-minute walk away. Public transport is 100% free on Saturdays throughout the Rouen area!

For your strolls, seaside activities, cultural pastimes or visits, you can also visit the Normandy coast (Honfleur with its harbor or Butterfly House, Harfleur, Deauville, Trouville, the Barrière casinos...), the Parc du Bocasse, the Biotropica zoo, the Poses leisure park with water-skiing, golf, pedal-boats, etc., the Bédanne beach (free parking), the Jumièges leisure park for a dip or fishing, or the Clères park where you can get up close to pink flamingos, kangaroos, lemurs...

Vic will be delighted to put together a little Normandy program for you, and Mathieu will prepare all your itineraries, should you wish to discover the region!

Other things

For motorhomes with shower and fridge,

we ask an extra fee if they wish to use our bathroom or plug in their fridge, as we already provide our own, empty, independent and accessible 24/24.

(1 euro for a shower per person and 2.50 euros for connecting your fridge for one day, 5 euros if you stay two nights, 7 euros if you stay 3 nights).

Rules

The glamping site is located in a cul-de-sac subdivision with little traffic, offering absolute peace and quiet.

Access is possible from 9am to 7pm, so you can make the most of the day to set up your equipment.
Departure before 10am for camper vans.

We have space for 6 cars and as many places to park bicycles under cover.

An access beeper can be given to you if we don't need it, under deposit, so that you can access your accommodation independently.

We are not smokers, but we respectfully allow you to put your ashes and cigarette butts in the ashtrays provided (please ask for the ashtrays).

Waste must be sorted or recycled (compost, plastic packaging, glass and household waste).

Compost is used to feed our small vegetable garden at the front of the house!

Pets are unfortunately not allowed, and noise pollution is to be avoided after 10 p.m. for the peace and quiet of the neighborhood.

Finally, we communicate only by TEXTO or whatsapp in text or voice messages. We rarely pick up the phone because of poor reception, or because our three children are our priority, or because if baby is at mom's breast, it's easier for him to read and answer by text.

  • Great stay with Vic and Math, I was made very welcome! Their house is easy to reach by car from Rouen, and their very pleasant garden is a great escape from the city. There are a few facilities that make it possible to be self-sufficient: dry toilets outside, access to the basement with sink, fridge and microwave, royal! As for showers, Vic and Math make their ground-floor bathroom available. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll be happy to come back!

  • Vic & Math were wonderful hosts and made sure my stay with them was perfect. I was made to feel very welcome and had every need taken care of. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

  • Vic and Math, we felt very comfortable in your garden. The contact with you was very pleasant. We had a wonderful time in and around Rouen. Thank you very much.

  • We had a wonderful one night stay!

  • A warm welcome from the whole family, in a quiet, flower-filled setting.
The city center is very quickly accessible thanks to the nearby transport network.
We would be delighted to return.

  • Thanks to Vic and Math for the warm welcome they gave us. They are very attentive to our needs, caring and eager to please us. Thanks to both of them

  • Very positive experience at Vic et Math, thanks to a warm welcome and well thought-out facilities. Ideal location for getting to the Armada by bus.

  • Warm welcome and pleasant little family. Surprised by the pitch with the only entrance on a narrow driveway with gravel, not suitable for our large motorhome (7.50m), especially when a second one arrives and by the disturbance of the passage of other campers, lack of privacy.
So we didn't stay the second night.
However, we were able to watch the armada before the yachts set sail.
Having said that, we'd recommend this place for quiet camping in the woods, thanks to the friendliness of the hosts, the services on offer and the proximity of Rouen.

  • A very warm welcome to Vic, Matthieu and their toddlers. A haven of nature just a stone's throw from Rouen, ideal for relaxing after a busy day visiting the city and the Armada. A gentle way of life, simplicity and kindness are the watchwords of this family. Thank you for everything.

  • Very good stay with Vic and Mathieu, super-sympathetic hosts with good advice and a very pleasant setting. We were able to enjoy the armada without having to take the car thanks to the public transport close to the house.

  • Excellent stay! Very warm welcome, Vic and Math are really available while being perfectly discreet. Excellent home-cooked breakfast. Bus stop just a few minutes from the house and town center also a few minutes away by car. Highly recommended.

  • We chose to stay with Vic and Math during the Armada and were delighted to discover their charming and authentic surroundings. A quiet, peaceful time with lots to talk about. We were able to recharge our batteries and recommend this place. Thank you for your welcome and kindness.

  • Friendly couple, good welcome

  • Super welcome with lots of advice and kindness!!!!
    I highly recommend

  • Nice people, beautiful place. Thank you

  • Everything was perfect :) even if it was in your garden, thank you for your warm welcome

  • Very pleasant and quiet stay under the cover of the trees of a charming undergrowth, 15 min from the center of Rouen by public transport.

Vic and Math are naturally welcoming, simple and warm. They are hosts who like to communicate and are very considerate.

Do not hesitate to visit them!

  • We have spent a quiet night next to the house of this very friendly and supportive family. Everything was ready and we have felt welcome immediately. It is always great to have a chat with the people who share there homes and that makes the big difference. Many thanks!
We can recommend this place completely!

  • We were very satisfied with our stay at vinciane and Matthieu's place. In spite of the uncertain weather, they did everything to make sure we were well installed.
We pitched our tent on the forest side, the ground is a little bit downhill which was a lot better for the kids, but we can also pitch it on the front ground where it is quite flat.

Their house is located in a quiet place, on the heights of the city ..... The situation and the hospitality of the occupants deserve this effort.

I highly recommend this charming meeting point of a growing family ????

  • Nice and pleasant welcome in an environment that one would not suspect when going to Rouen. Indeed, one has more the impression to be in an atmosphere of "small mountain", than of "edge of the Seine". The atmosphere is bucolic with magnificent trees. The calm which reigns is only "disturbed" by the song of the birds. Vic and Mat offered me a simple and warm welcome, unfortunately, we only had a little time to go further in the exchanges!

  • A hell of a little lady who greets you immediately by your first name. A smile up to both ears. A strong sparkle. Certainly, not an enormous space but quite sufficient to spend a secure night in the peace and to visit Rouen... Superb city.

  • Hello, I had a nice stay. The hosts are very welcoming and have good advice for visiting Rouen. The breakfast was very copious! Thank you for your welcome, I recommend
