Description

Friends of cyclists, hikers and travelers with a van or small caravan.
We offer you a 400m² enclosed plot of land located about 1km from the greenway, 15 km between Caen and Thury-Harcourt.
You'll have access to a cabin equipped with 2 sanitary facilities (dry toilets and traditional toilet and shower with water heater) and a covered area with fitted kitchen (sink, stove, cooking utensils, crockery, storage cupboard, table and chairs) to enjoy a sheltered evening.
There's no electricity on site; we can lend you an extension cord (for a supplement of 2 to 5 euros, depending on your needs). Our facility will be closed as soon as it gets cold.
Pets are welcome, provided they don't frighten our chickens, who will be your neighbors.

The setting

This is a quiet space, surrounded by trees at the far end of our grounds, next to the field occupied by our hens and guinea pigs.
The fitted kitchen is sheltered from the wind, facing south/southeast so you can enjoy the sun during the day and evening. There are shady pitches too.

The spots

The site is flat, but not accessible to large vehicles (over 5 metres).
Holds two 6-seater tents or 3 vans

The sanitary facilities

As we are passionate about natural construction, we built this shelter with a timber frame and straw structure walls for the sanitary facilities.
We installed a gas water heater for hot water in the shower.

The amenities

We provide crockery and cutlery, a stove, basic elements, as well as a cool box/fridge and a storage cupboard.
Electricity is available with an extension cord (with a supplement of 2 to 5 euros depending on requirements).

The activities

Just 1km from the "vélofrancette", our site is an ideal stopover, 27km from Ouistreham and 16km from Caen, at the gateway to La Suisse Normande.
For paddle and canoe enthusiasts, the river Orne is also around 1km away, and you can rent one at the base, 2km away.
For more cultural activities, you can discover the region's Roman remains, which we can point out to you around 5km away (Vieux la Romaine museum).

Other things

IMPORTANT: If you book "instant booking", please send us an SMS to make sure we have seen your request, especially if you are arriving at short notice.

Rules

We expect our guests to respect the cleanliness of the premises by using the garbage cans provided and cleaning up after themselves. Parents must ensure that their children do not frighten animals.

We can provide a barbecue if it's not too windy.

  • Great stay with Michel and Caroline.

Top welcome, thank you Caroline for the homemade jam, green and quiet setting, ideal for peaceful nights.

Thanks again to Michel for the small repairs and everything else.

    I highly recommend these hosts.

  • Excellent experience for our first Homecamper night along the Vélofrancette with our family.
Cycling friends, don't hesitate to stop: everything is provided for you ???? and as a bonus, Michel and Caroline's welcome is very friendly.

  • Very good welcome. Nothing to say, everything was perfect. I recommend you. Thanks to both of you.

  • It was a pleasure to be able to return to Michel and Caroline's home, a must in Normandy!

  • Caroline and Michel are beautiful, generous people who are a pleasure to meet.
The site is enclosed and has a sanitary block, the result of a participative construction project, where all equipment is available to campers (cooking, crockery, etc.). The site is quiet and well-maintained. We recommend it without hesitation.

  • We had a very pleasant stay with Michel and Caroline who are very welcoming and attentive. Thanks again for the homemade jam and plums. The place is very well appointed and quiet.

  • Michel and Caroline welcome us with great generosity, in a beautiful place that's very well equipped for birds of passage. I'd love to come back if I get the chance!

  • Michel and Caroline are wonderful hosts. They are very welcoming and warm. We arrived late (thanks SNCF) and yet they were very understanding. The camping area is well thought out and complete: there's a stove, pots, mugs and glasses available.
And we were able to sleep in the warmth of their tents. They even provided sleeping bags to keep us warm. The garden, the animals (chickens, rabbits, the dog, etc.) and the house are very pleasant. I recommend without hesitation!

  • We were warmly welcomed by Caroline and Michel, who showed us around their magnificent garden.
The camping area is spacious, out of sight and sound, and we found it very quiet.
On site we had toilets, showers (with hot water!) and cooking facilities (stove and fridge).
We had the option of drawing a curtain so we could eat in the shade.
When we left, Michel and Caroline invited us in for a coffee, as they have a very interesting story to tell.
Go there without hesitation. Enjoy Normandy from their cosy little nest!

  • Perfect and quiet place.
Very friendly welcome, top equipment and animals to enjoy. The ideal of camping!

  • Michel and Caroline are very welcoming. The little welcome drink was just perfect to get to know this couple who built their house and landscaped their land themselves!
The land is a little piece of paradise. Perfectly arranged for visitors.
Whether in a tent, van or cc, there is everything you need to have a great time
What a pleasure to see the little chicks frolicking around us in the morning and the guinea pigs playing hide and seek in their tuyeau!
Not to mention the lovely vegetable garden and the little frog ponds!
Thank you again for welcoming us and we hope to see you again in the future who knows on the road ....
