Description

When I was younger, I often had a bag on my back, always ready to discover new lands... nowadays, married to a farmer, my escapades are few and far between... so I'm delighted to welcome backpackers and families to our home... to whom I can show our lovely Auvergne region... to continue meeting new people and "traveling" a little with my guests.

The setting

Plot in the middle of fields in the heart of the Parc Régional des Volcans d'Auvergne. You'll fall asleep with the owls and wake up to the sound of birdsong.

The spots

the site is accessible via two dirt roads, where you have to drive slowly...some areas are shaded...the choice is yours.

The sanitary facilities

I've built a shower cubicle in the middle of the woods with a small water supply (20 liters) that heats up with the sun.
Dry toilets are at your disposal, which you'll need to empty into compost before you leave.
You can fill your water jugs at the village fountains, or we can fill them for you at home.

The amenities

A table made of pallets and logs is set up under the trees, along with a slikline and a barefoot trail for children.

The activities

There are PR paths at the foot of the farm, where you can stroll to the Chapelle Saint Anne, which offers a lovely panorama of the Sancy... or choose to follow the stream. Saint-Saturnin is a historic village with pretty monuments, and you're close to the Lac d'Aydat, where you can swim (10 kms), rent canoes, paddle pedalos... In the village you'll find a small grocery store, a bakery, and a local produce market on Saturday mornings. On Wednesday evenings, there's a big night market in Champeix (10 kms). You can also canoe down the Allier or visit Vulcania. I'll be happy to show you around.

Rules

take your garbage home with you and put it in a bin in the village, as there's no garbage collection at the farm...the refuse collectors don't come to our place...

    The site is exactly what we were looking for, large and clean, Agnès had provided the dry toilets just for us.
