Description

Welcome to the Holschbacher Höhe,

situated at the edge of the Westerwald our farm invites hikers, cyclists or other travelers to spend the night. Between cows, horses and chickens up to 2 tents can be pitched on our tent meadow. A built fireplace with seating offers the option to sit around the campfire. For a small extra charge I will gladly provide wood. In our bar in the stable building is the toilet which is available to our guests as well as a refrigerator, stove and coffee maker. You are also welcome to stay in the bar or outside under the large walnut tree in the cool shade.

If you like hiking you will find the Holschbacher Rundweg (6,5km) in the near surroundings. For longer hikes the Siegsteig is recommended. Also for cyclists there is a variety of routes in the area that lead into the deep Westerwald. A clear recommendation for both hikers and cyclists is a tour through the Nistertal.

Other excursion destinations would be the monastery Marienstatt, the Druidenstein or the Holzbachschlucht to name a few. Also the beautiful Hachenburg is always worth a visit.

The setting

Those who are looking for peace and quiet will find it here. In the immediate vicinity there are neither major roads nor other residential buildings. Surrounded by meadows and forests, it is easy to relax here.

The spots

We have two possibilities to settle down with tents.
On the meadow orchard between young apple, pear and plum trees is our fireplace with space for two tents. The view into the distance is outstanding. Unfortunately, there are still no trees here to provide shade. But on very hot days you can make yourself comfortable under the walnut tree below the stables.
The place under the walnut tree would be the second possibility to pitch a tent. Here the direct access to our cellar bar with nice counter and fully equipped kitchen would be an advantage. There is also a toilet here.
In front of the cellar bar you can make yourself comfortable on the small terrace.

The sanitary facilities

A toilet is available in our basement bar.
Hot water is available in the kitchen area.

The amenities

As already described, a kitchen with sink, dishwasher, refrigerator and stove is available in the basement bar area. Sufficient dishes and kitchen accessories can be provided.
Electricity is available by arrangement.

The activities

Our farm is located directly on the famous hiking trail Siegsteig. (Stage 10)
The surrounding area is also excellent for cyclists.
A recommendation is the city of Hachenburg.
For culinary but is also on site in Wissen some restaurants and cafes to choose from.

Other things

Who would like can (by arrangement) also like to pick up a breakfast egg fresh from the henhouse.

At your disposal is a 1 1/2 man tent. Sufficient for one adult + child.

Likewise, we can offer a family tent. (see photos) Here there is room for at least 4 people. There is a lounge area with windows and two sleeping chambers.
