Description

Our land is located in the Valbormid hills 6 km from the town of Piana Crixia, 470 m above sea level.
The property is surrounded by woods and stretches and over 10 hectares around, with mainly southern exposure, adjacent to the Piana Crixia Regional Nature Park.

The beaches are about forty minutes away by car; you can also enjoy the coolness and nature by visiting the Adelasia Park, or the adjacent hills with their streams and springs.

The setting

Roe deer, hares, and small wild animals walk in the surroundings, and the few nearby houses are several hundred meters away; the road leading here is sparsely trafficked, this allows you to enjoy the sounds of nature and its silences.
The view sweeps as far as the slopes of Mount Begua overlooking Genoa, and the hills of the Cadibona Pass.

The spots

We accommodate you in a 5-meter-diameter Canvas Camp tent, located in a small plain surrounded by sage and lavender plants, secluded and independent, but only a few meters away from the main house, or in a 4-person Bertoni technical tent with a veranda, more suitable for a couple, located in the oak forest beside the house.
The tents are furnished with mattresses and rugs.
We would prefer guests to be equipped with their own sleeping bags and their own linens, but if not, we can provide LINEN (sheets, towels and blankets), to be considered an extra for which a flat fee of € 7/person will be charged, with renewal on the 5th day.

The sanitary facilities

The toilets provided for guests are located inside the main house, on the ground floor, and easily accessible. They are equipped with a toilet, washbasin, sink, and shower with hot water.
Access to the facilities is allowed from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The amenities

A glassed-in veranda adjacent to the main house, shared, with free wifi and power outlets, is accessible for guests between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Batteries are provided to light the tents.

An INDEPENDENT KITCHEN, equipped with: gas stove, refrigerator, countertop, sink with drinking water, table and chairs and all necessary pots and pans, and a large independent outdoor viewing area may be available by prior arrangement.
Use of the kitchen should be requested at the time of booking, and involves an additional flat rate of €10/day.

It is possible to use the WASHING MACHINE service on request, with a fee of € 5/ each.

It is possible to request BREAKFAST, for an additional € 8/ person.

The activities

Magical forest paths unfold around the house, which in ancient times connected nearby localities to the principality of Lodisio.
It is possible to walk along them and explore the surroundings for miles around.
A stream, a tributary of the Bormida, flows from the hill around Lodisio, and over time has carved out characteristic canyons in the old forest.
The area is famous for its abundance of mushrooms and truffles.

In the surrounding localities there are a number of equestrian centers, several typical trattorias, and an Irish Pub on the hill opposite; in the summertime the Bormida Valley offers a remarkable variety of wine and food festivals dedicated to the most typical and imaginative local specialties.

Other things

During the summer period, aromatics growing in the plains around are harvested, distilled, dried and prepared, so it is possible to watch and/or participate in the process of distillation and processing.

Rules

Access to the house, for use of the shared veranda and available toilets, is possible from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Three dogs already live in the house, and, preferring not to create difficult situations, we have decided not to accommodate other animals.

There is no smoking in the tent and common areas.

Lighting fires is prohibited.

We decided decades ago to live in and care for a pristine place, and as such we offer it; we expect our guests to also be nature and animal lovers, and to respect the place that welcomes them.

Possibility of breakfast (€8 / person)

Hot beverages, such as coffee, tea or herbal tea, vegetable or animal milk, and bread, if possible homemade, butter, jams, if homemade available, citrus juice, eggs, cereal or flakes, dried fruit will be available.

  • Unfortunately not the best home camping experience... One of their dogs barked outside all night, so it was impossible to sleep (in a tent). If you want to do the dishes you will have to pay 10euros per day because the use of the kitchen is extra, contrary to what the description says. We had much better experiences in other Homecamper, quiet night and sink for less than 10euros...
