Description

Hello travelers! We are Deborah and Philippe, two passionate hikers and travelers. Home campers ourselves, we will be happy to welcome you, in tent or van, for one or more days of vacations in the Hautes-Pyrénées. Our property, an old mill, is located at the foot of the Pyrenees, on the plateau of Lannemezan and at the doors of the Baronnies and the Aure valley.
We will be able to advise you on the best visits and activities in our region, as well as on the hikes adapted to your level and your desires thanks to the experience of Philippe, mountain guide.

The setting

We welcome you on our 2 ha wooded land, in the middle of nature, in the heart of which a small lake is nestled. The property is also crossed by a river. Away from the village (access by a communal road of 500 meters), we have no direct neighbors. You will be surrounded by woods and meadows in a quiet and relaxing natural environment.

The spots

You can choose your pitch according to your preferences, either in the shade of our large oak trees or in the sun. Our sites are very quiet and peaceful, either by the river or the small lake. With a little luck, you will certainly be able to see on our land, some specimens of wildlife: squirrels, hares, foxes, deer ...

The sanitary facilities

In our old mill, we put at your disposal an independent bathroom.

The amenities

On the grounds, "La Cabane" is at your disposal to take your meals. Open shelter, it is equipped with a table and chairs.
We also put at your disposal the living room of our old mill, where you can take your meals in case of bad weather or simply for your pleasure. You will find there, a sink with hot water, a bar corner to take the aperitif, dishes, a big table and chairs, a space of documentation to organize your stay as well as a fireplace if the evenings are chilly.
Electricity is available on the pitches (3 € extra per day).

The activities

The hiking trail of the village passes in front of our gate. Of an easy level it is also accessible by mountain bike.
Fishermen, don't forget your equipment (and your permit), the river crosses the property.
Our campsite is located on the V81 (the Véloroute du piémont Pyrénéen).
In the immediate vicinity you will find :
- Les Ôcybelles, the natural and biological swimming pool of Saint-Laurent de Neste and its 800m2 pool.
- The Maison du Savoir in Saint-Laurent de Neste is a cultural center, which proposes shows, films, exhibitions, conferences, a media library, but also socio-cultural animations.
- The monastery and calvary of Mont Ares, a temple dedicated to Ares is built at the foot of the hill.
- The Adventure Park N'Co Park in the heart of a forest of 8 hectares offers more than 140 games installed from 1 to 15 meters high and 1.5 km of zip lines! Courses adapted to all ages!
- The Half Moon Leisure Park : Pedal boats, educational farm, bubble water, zip line, ponies, tree climbing, trampolines...
- The perched village of Saint-Bertrand de Comminges, a major stop on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela, is classified as "the most beautiful village in France" with its famous Sainte-Marie Cathedral.
- The caves of Gargas, frequented 27,000 years ago by men who left many traces of their passage as well as the digital and prehistoric center of Nestploria which is a complement to the visit of the caves.
- The Esparros chasm, a real underground garden to discover during a visit with sound and light. This site is exceptional for the variety and profusion of its concretions, especially aragonite.
- The Prehistory space of Labastide to discover the life, the culture and the mysterious art of our ancestors. You will learn how to survive in the middle of prehistory, how to make a primitive fire, how to light your way or how to hunt with an assegai before being initiated to the secrets of the art of caves.
- The castle of Mauvezin offers a 360° view from its keep. A majestic panorama on the Pyrenees chain!
- The abbey of Escaladieu is located in a wooded valley of the Baronnies near two thermal towns, Capvern and Bagnères-de-Bigorre. The magic of the place and the purity of the architecture are an invitation to serenity and travel.
- The Edenvik thermal baths in Capvern. In a Nordic decor of stone and sculpted wood, the 120 m² thermoludic pool is fed by the spring at a temperature of 34°C.
- The castle of Montoussé: From the top of the hill "Le Monts aux Ours", the vestiges of the castle offers a magnificent view on the valley of Neste, the Pyrenees and the Plateau of Lannemezan.
- The house of the sources, in the Valley of Barousse, is an eco-museum. Departure of the walks towards the castle of Bramevaque and the chasm of saoule (1h00 round trip each).

A little further on, discover the Baronnies, the Aure valley which runs towards Spain, the great mythical passes (Aspin, Peyresourde, Azet, Tourmalet...), the Néouvielle nature reserve, the Campan valley at the foot of the Pic du Midi de Bigorre, Lourdes, Gavarnie, Cauterets...

Other things

Arrivals are generally from 4 pm. Depending on our working hours we can welcome you earlier. We will see together when you make your reservation.

Rules

Due to the presence of numerous water sources (river, small dam, canal and reservoir, lake) and the dangers that such an environment represents, we ask you to be very vigilant if you come with children.

Because of the important presence of wild fauna whose tranquility we want to guarantee, we regret not to welcome our friends the dogs. We also ask you, by your behavior, to respect the quietness of the place.

Smokers, we thank you for smoking outside and for not throwing your cigarette butts on the ground.
