Description

Come and reconnect with nature in a field near the sea. Wanting to preserve biodiversity, a large part is left in its natural state, a plot is reserved for gardening and my personal use.
Located in the heart of the Val de Saire and not far from Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, Bretteville en Saire combines nicely countryside and coastline.

Ideal for Roots, bivouac, wild road trip, vanlife

The setting

Isolated land, in the middle of nature, surrounded by trees and wild hedges. Access by dirt road linking 2 hamlets. The surrounding fields are regularly occupied by cows, sheep and horses.
Close to the sea (visible on the north side of the land) and the beaches.
Silent, with just the sounds of the countryside, birds singing, tractors and the passage of small planes (Maupertuis airfield).
The beach of Bretteville is at 2km, it is authorized to the animals held in leash (as many in the surroundings)

The spots

No marked out site. The land is flat and surrounded by hedges and trees. You just have to respect the plantations and the animals (horses, sheep and cows) of the surrounding fields.
The land is sunny
Access by dirt road

The sanitary facilities

No sanitary facilities, neither water nor electricity
Water point with sanitary and shower at the beach.

The activities

Near Cherbourg en Cotentin, the city of the sea, the landing beaches, Barfleur, Saint Vast la Hougue, Sainte Mère Église
Whatever your tastes and the weather you will find something to occupy you: beaches (varied and never crowded), hiking trails, cultural heritage, castles, botanical parks, nature reserves, summer animations (La Rue Bucolique, proposed every August at the Tourp manor, for example). and water activities, aquatic centers...
Hike along the customs path, surf on the west coast of the Cotentin, in Siouville-Hague or Biville, try sand yachting at Utah Beach, enjoy the calm of a canoe trip on one of the rivers in Saint-Sauveur-le-Vicomte or in the Cotentin Marshes, or embark on a sea kayak in Collignon, Cherbourg-en-Cotentin

Situation
  • Nice experience.
    Wild and simple location.
    Very good communication.

  • The land is in the middle of the countryside in a quiet and beautiful environment.
We thank Gaelle for her welcome and the tomatoes from the garden.
We will keep a nice souvenir of our stay at Gaelle's place!

  • We were well received... But the place remains, for us, much too basic. We booked 4 nights... And stayed only 1 night.
