Description

Hello! We're setting up a permaculture micro-farm that will also be a place to relax and explore subjects close to our hearts, such as life, 100% plant-based cooking, ethical computing and well-being through movement.
We have a small flock of animals who actively contribute to the ecosystem: two sheep, two pigs, some chickens and a cat.
We're still in the process of setting up the farm and do everything by hand or on foot (or almost!), to cause as little damage as possible, so we're moving slowly and the land remains "au naturel" in some corners, which for us is what gives it its charm.

We suggest you stay in an unusual room: our "teardrop".
This is an eco-friendly, handcrafted wooden mini-caravan designed by Maxime Morel.
The caravan takes its name from its "teardrop" shape. It was created in the 1930s in California, hence its neo-vintage design.

The caravan has a real double bed (140 x190), includes a picnic table, a water tank that can be used with a pump and the table to make a shower and electricity thanks to its solar panels.

The setting

You'll enjoy the green countryside and the discreet presence of our animals, while remaining close to the sea - we're only 10 minutes (by car) from the ocean. Beautiful family beaches are to the south and wild surf beaches, including La Torche, to the southeast. We're also close to the market towns of Plomeur and Pont l'Abbé, and the nearest supermarkets are a 5-minute bike ride away.

The spots

The caravan faces a wood and a large paddock where the animals live together. It contains a double bed (140 x 190),

The sanitary facilities

24-hour access to:
Dry toilets x 2
Sink with running water
Outdoor solar shower

The amenities

Amenities include:
- Different shower options: 1 x 20L solar shower in a small corner set up for showering in the bamboos.
We've created a bamboo screen but it's not completely blackout - bring your swimwear anyway! :) There are also 2 hoses with shower guns that heat up when placed in the sun.

Please use natural shower products such as Marseille or Aleppo soap, as the showers are in the garden.

- Kitchen: simple kitchenette area, with sink, kettle, hotplate and Kelly Kettle. If you want to keep your food in a cool place, we can lend you a "desert fridge" which uses the evaporation of water to generate a cooling effect (at around 15 degrees...won't be able to keep your ice creams! :) )
- A small manual washing machine (if required, we can also provide our automatic washing machine and detergent for 2 EUR)
- Breton shuffleboard and Molky
- Electricity in the garden shed for recharging appliances
- Surfboards and wetsuits for hire
- Bicycle rental and a bike trailer for children or shopping available

If you've forgotten your books, we can lend you classic novels as well as books on permaculture, veganism, ecology and many other subjects (in French and English).

The activities

There are numerous hiking trails, chapels and a wide choice of beaches to explore nearby. We'll be happy to advise you if you have any questions.

If you're interested in yoga, you can join one of our on-site yoga sessions for a free contribution. I am certified to teach yoga.

We can organize workshops on request for those of you interested in permaculture, veganism, wasteful living and ethical computing. Contact us before you arrive to discuss your interests and expectations for a tailor-made workshop.

If you would like a massage, please contact us in advance with the type of massage you would like. You can cancel a massage more than 24 hours in advance. Alternatively, we can recommend a masseuse in Pont l'Abbé.

In summer, local markets and events are numerous and festive, so ask us for information if you'd like to explore them.

You're welcome to spend some time relaxing on the farm with the animals. The two kune kune pigs particularly enjoy having their bellies rubbed.

Other things

We moved to this farm a few months ago, and with all the hard work and love we put into it every day, the land is still relatively wild! We still wanted to share our corner of South Finistère with other campers during the summer months.

Rules

We ask you to be aware of litter as we try as much as possible to live plastic-free and cleaning the farm takes up a lot of our time. Please do not smoke while on the farm. The golden rule is always to leave the place as you found it.

We are vegan and would be delighted to let you explore (or share if you are too) our favorite recipes if you wish. We respect everyone's personal choice, but please do not barbecue meats on our grounds.

Animals have their own needs and desires; some of our pets are wary of humans, others are very fond of cuddles. If you'd like to meet them, please let us know beforehand, so as not to upset them. We make sure they receive proper nutrition, so please don't feed them. Children must not enter the animal enclosure without adult supervision. If you think your furry friend might attack our chickens or baby pigs, please keep it under your supervision.
Some of our animals are runaways (or curious about the neighborhood), so please always close the wooden gate on entering and leaving the grounds.

If anything is new, we are here to answer your questions and ensure your comfort as much as possible. If this is the first time you've tried a dry toilet, there will be instructions in the cabin ;)!

  • We had a dream stay in the haven of peace built by this adorable cosmopolitan couple. The caravan is the perfect cocoon for sleeping under the stars - it's absolutely magical! What's even more magical is the opportunity to meet our committed and conscientious hosts, who take pleasure in helping you discover their inspiring way of life. Special mention for the delicious vegan meals!

  • An unforgettable stay with Katie and Won. Easily accessible to pedestrians by bus from Quimper (the 56 B, stop at Ty Boutic, a 15-minute walk away). But far enough from the road to be quiet. But it's also a 20min walk to the Pont l'Abbé Biocoop for groceries. For cycling enthusiasts, Pointe de la Torche is 30-35min away, depending on the itinerary chosen. An ecolieu under construction, already boasting a number of attractive features: the pre-garden with Arsène and Lupin pigs and chickens, and the forest area is ideal for strolling and observing plants and birds. The teardrop is conveniently located (close to sanitary facilities, but not overlooked) and overlooks the orchard. Magnificent sunset from the teardrop every evening. Spacious, comfortable teardrop bed. The solar panel makes it easy to recharge small appliances. Sedentary teardrop: ideal for camping enthusiasts who want the security of the walls but the proximity of the sounds of nature and waking birds (and even a deer!). It's also very pleasant to eat outside in spring on the table facing the meadow orchard. Shower system heated by solar energy in a tank on the roof of the sanitary room (ideal temperature for me) and easy-to-use dry toilets with instructions for those who might be intimidated. No odors thanks to buckwheat hulls. Great things in the pipeline: the geodesic greenhouse, phytodepuration, herb garden, etc.... Katie and Won are bubbling over with curiosity, varied knowledge and a desire to pass on and exchange. Present while respecting their need for privacy, they are hosts I highly recommend. Special mention for the copious and varied breakfast, essentially local and homemade or with products from local producers. Interesting, positive and concrete discussions on how to make tomorrow's world more virtuous. I'll be happy to keep up to date with future events, in particular possible courses or conferences on herbalism or ethical digital technology.
