We welcome all independent people (vans, tents and motorhomes).
There is a water point downstairs (tap, no shower) and no toilet.
The setting
La Prairie Saint-Loup is a sacred site in the heart of the forest between Rennes-les-Bains and Rennes-le-Château.
Here you can enjoy the peace and quiet of nature and the abundance of wildlife, while being just a ten-minute drive from the nearest shops.
The spots
The lower part of the meadow is flat; if you prefer to be higher up, you can go to the upper part, which is more sloping.
It's up to you to decide what suits you best.
Please note that the entrance to the site is designed for small and medium-sized vehicles.
Large motorhomes may have difficulty maneuvering through the gate. (Gate width: 3m; distance from gate to ditch: 6m with a sharp bend).
The sanitary facilities
There are no sanitary facilities. You must be independent.
The amenities
If you like cycling, we have bikes available (3 mountain bikes and 1 mountain bike). There is currently no electricity in the meadow; you must be electrically independent.
The activities
We offer massages, Tibetan bowl treatments and meditation in a yurt located directly on the grounds.
There's plenty to do in the area too. You can hike in the forest, climb the famous Pech de Bugarach or Pech Cardou or stroll through the magnificent Gorges de Galamus with its cliffside hermitage.
In Rennes-les-Bains, you can bathe in the hot springs of Bains doux at the entrance to the village or Bains forts in the village center.
You can also visit the esoteric village of Rennes-le-Château, where you can learn about the history of Abbé Saunière's treasure (for which there is a museum) and pay your respects in the little church he built in honor of Mary Magdalene.
You can also have lunch in the village, where several restaurants will be happy to welcome you. There are also many Cathar castles to discover in the region, as well as the medieval city of Carcassonne (45 minutes away by car), a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Other things
In case of heavy rain, it is imperative to park your vehicle on the small stone parking lot at the bottom of the meadow, as you risk getting stuck if you remain on the grass.
