Description

Welcome to our home! Our house is located in the heart of the village of Germond-Rouvre, opposite the town hall. It's an old farmhouse with numerous outbuildings. You'll find yourself in the south of the Gâtine region, in a hilly, wooded setting 17 km from Niort. For those who want to look at the stars and listen to the birds, our land should suit you!

The setting

We're located near a farm (sheep and goat breeding). The tractor comes and goes several times a day, which is the heaviest traffic. Otherwise, the rue de la Balade that passes in front of our house is not busy, and the area is quiet.

The spots

We have a plot of almost 2,000 m² at your disposal. Several fruit trees provide shade, or the occasional apple on the head! In case of rain, you can use the barn as a shelter. Bikes can be parked in the outbuildings.

The sanitary facilities

We've installed an independent drinking water point and an outdoor shower in a cabin (cold water). You'll also have your own sheltered dry toilet.

The amenities

We do not provide cooking equipment, so travelers must be self-sufficient, but we can of course help out if something is missing. Phone charging facilities. Independent fridge available.

The activities

Hiking
Canoeing
Cycling (bikes available on loan)
Sightseeing (Niort, Marais Poitevin, etc.)

Other things

If you wish, we'll be sure to share with you the possibilities for walks in the surrounding area. Please let us know at least one or two days before you wish to come over, so that we can give the place a good clean, maybe use the lawnmower, and above all get organized so that we can be there to welcome you.
We also have a nice young dog, but we prefer to let people who don't like their company know in advance.

Rules

Generally speaking, we expect our guests to leave the site and facilities clean after their departure, even if they have pets. We're in the heart of the village, and it's important to us to maintain good relations with our neighbors and avoid night-time nuisances.

  • Very pleasant welcome, everything we needed.

  • We were warmly welcomed at Cécile and Jean Michel's. It was our 1st homestay experience, and it was a real pleasure to meet them.
Very attentive hosts, a bottle of apple juice as a welcome, a coffee maker available, tea, small cookies, private grounds and a barn to store bikes and shelter in case of bad weather. The whole family will appreciate it, and you can book with Cécile and Jean Michel with complete confidence.
