Description

We offer full access to the shared spaces in our house ! My place is within walking distance of Chartres train station (7mn), city centre (15mn to the cathedral), bakery (4mn), and medium (6mn) and big supermarket (10mn).
You’ll love my place for its location in a peaceful neighbourhood, its authenticity (it is an old house), and the large welcoming common dining room and living room with a piano and full of books, comics...
The tent is good for solo travellers or couples.

The setting

We are in a typical garden in the center of a peaceful residential district. Neighbour has a kind and calm dog that will be happy if you scratch him or if you bring him a playmate across the fence. We have cats, birds (a lot) and hedgehog wandering in our garden. We offer for rental up to 3 tents and 4 rooms in the house, so you might have some nice chats with other respectful travelers.

The spots

The tent spot are in the 800m2 flat lawn, a few trees and a wall on one side offer shades and we can welcome any size of tent. You are between 10m-20m from the house depending where you want to put your tent.

The sanitary facilities

We consider our guest in tents as guest renting a room in the house : the full access to 2 toilets, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dinning and living rooms, and the full garden and their amenities. No limit of time, the only limit is the respectful sharing of the house with others.

The amenities

We have fiber optics and provide wifi coverage of the house but 4G will be better in the tents. We have electrical plugs everywhere in the house and ready to be used for batteries and mobile (we even have micro-usb chargers available on most outlets). If needed we can pull a line to the tent (upon request).
The kitchen is our kitchen and so is fully equipped. Fridge, sinks, taps, kettle, toaster, micro-wave oven, tableware and pans also at basic ingredients are free to use. We offer fruit juices, bottled water, coffee, tea in wide choices.
You can also use the washing machine (we have 2 of them) and hang your clothes in house or in the garden.

The activities

We are in town, and Chartres is a well-known cultural attraction as-well-as being a important stop on 3 official paths: the Compostella path, the Paris-Chartre Pilgrimage, but also the cycling "Véloscènie" that links Paris to "Le mont Saint-Michel".

Other things

Please note that we offer 4 rooms to rent and we have 3 tent spots. So the garden, as well as the house will be shared amongst all guest. The space is big enough for you also to stay away from interaction if you don't want any and enjoy a respected retreat.

Rules

- Be considerate and respectful with other present guest (you can ask me who are the other guests before booking.) For instance, I expect you to keep the commons free and tidy after usage.
- Please feel at home: food, books, comics, games, bottles are there for you to use as I would allow a friend to use them: I await also that you act as a friend, and replace books or comics exactly where you found them, replace bottles that you drank, and generally try to leave the commons as clean as you found them ! Thanks !
- In doubt, or if there are any problems (you broke something, something does not work as expected, you wonder if you can use something you found in the house, there's something wrong with the house, you want to know where to find this or that object), contact me as soon as possible.
- No smoking in the house.

Situation

  • Camping in the garden, the house on the grounds is entirely dedicated to welcoming travelers, with a fully equipped kitchen, two WCs, two shower rooms, a living room with a library and a large collection of comics!
    Upstairs, two bedrooms are available for year-round rental.
    1/4 hour walk from the center.
    Surprisingly, everything is provided in a simple and warm way that commands respect, a perfect welcome.
