Description

500 meters from Grenade town center, yet in a quiet location, where every Saturday we hold the region's most famous market (with many local producers) in the remarkable 13th-century covered market hall.
25 minutes from Toulouse
25 minutes from Montauban
Outdoor public parking available
Bus from Grenade, streetcar from Beauzelle 15 minutes away, Blagnac airport 20 minutes away.
Tourist office in Grenade opposite the Halle (I'll be putting together a compendium of information on places to visit).

The setting

Grenade is located in the northern suburbs of Toulouse, a town of 9,000 inhabitants with all amenities (various shops, supermarkets, doctors, pharmacies, etc.). We have our own cinema! We're in the middle of a triangle between the Gers, Tarn et Garonne and Tarn rivers. Many walks, village visits, Aéroscopia museum, Cité de l'Espace, Zoo African Safari, etc.). We're on the road to Spain - close to the St Jacques de Compostelle pilgrimage route. Quiet little town, municipal lights off between midnight and 6:00 am. After 6:30-7:00 pm it's very quiet. My house is in a quiet residential area.

The spots

The site for the tent is on my lawn at the front of my house, and flat, a little shade at the end of the day, surrounded by hedges on 3 sides, the 4th side you can see the rooms of the house (I reassure you, they are almost never used except when I have my 2 small children during their school vacations). The plot is flat. It's about 5 m x 4 m - Suitable only for tents (and of dimensions that match, because around it are flowerbeds + - flowering depending on the season) - You can park a vehicle (max 5.50m long) in my yard (it's a bit sloping so if it's a van and you sleep in your van - Careful you might sleep leaning, or you have a tent and so it'll be more adequate - you can't park a vehicle on the lawn - no access possible). The courtyard is enclosed by a gate - so it's safe. I can also park 2 light vehicles, so if you're traveling with several people... Your bicycles can be left on your pitch. Your panniers/luggage can be stored in the garage/garden shed to protect them from overnight damp.

The sanitary facilities

You'll have access to a shower room (with hot water) and WC, as well as access to the sink in the laundry room to wash your dishes and take water (it's drinkable). I don't mind the hours as it's in the extension of the house just behind the garage, so I'm not bothered by noise. I ask you to respect the cleanliness of the premises and installations which are very very recent. I'm not an uncompromising ecologist, but I do try to be thrifty with my water consumption - I'm trying to pass this on to my grandchildren ...

The amenities

Please note: there is no electricity at the tent site. (After midnight, the commune switches off public lighting - bring your flashlight). You can leave your cell phone to be charged inside (in the garage or laundry room). I'm also happy to put a few groceries in my fridge, and even freeze the bins in the freezer. A garden table and 4 chairs are at your disposal on the pitch, where you have access.
If the mosquitoes like you, don't forget the mosquito repellent!

The activities

Golf in Seilh (10mn by car) Montauban (25m)
hiking and biking
Many visits to picturesque villages (St Cirq la popie, Cahors, Albi, but also in the gers, tarn and tarn et garonne ....) and of course Toulouse la rose!
5 minutes away (by car): Château de Merville 31330
In Grenade itself (800m from the house): a skate park with free access for rollerblades, scooters and toboggans - there's also a basketball court, and outdoor exercise equipment (velo heliptique etc...) - all freely accessible.

Other things

Private plot - Owner present
500 m from Grenade town center - 700 m from supermarket, Market every Saturday morning (under the "classified" market hall)
If you arrive in the late afternoon, please note that supermarkets close at 7:30pm (Super U and or Aldi Avenue du Président Kennedy, Intermarché 3 avenue de Gascogne ) and 8:00pm SPAR (20 rue Gambetta - in the bastide).

Towel hire: €2/stay/person (to be specified when booking), payable on site.
Loan of beach towel: 2€/stay/pers (to be specified when booking) to be paid on site.
if your vehicle is a motorcycle - you can park it in my courtyard for the duration of your stay only - same for cars
The courtyard is gated - so it's safe. I can also park 2 light vehicles, if you're traveling with several people... As for bicycles, I can park them in the garden shed: 1 for sure, possibly 2, but without the panniers which take up space. These can be put in the garden shed or garage to escape the damp on certain nights.

Rules

Tourist tax included in price/night
Rules of decorum in behavior, respect and tranquility of owners (especially after 22:00)
No smoking in my house - but accepted outside (ashtray provided)
Arrival from 4:00 pm (before 8:00 pm) - Departure before 11:00 am on the day of departure.
Access to the pool when it is at temperature (normally between June and September) - Opening hours from 10:00 to 20:00 - out of opening hours, the pool is closed by a roller shutter for security. In the case of children, the pool will be closed when parents are not present and under their own supervision.
A camping table, chairs and deckchairs will be available near your tent on your pitch for your relaxing evenings!
Children should never be left alone without their parents by the pool.
For the sake of other people and the neighborhood, they should not shout or run around. For your information, the pool is uniformly 1.50 m deep, so avoid deep dives (risk of injury). It's a liner, so avoid sharp objects (no shoes, no rings...).
No ball games on the house grounds - however, there is a large public green space right next door where you can play ball, badminton etc....
You should know from experience that 2 2-seater tents have already been installed (one of which is slightly larger than a 2-seater Canadian).
You will be charged 7 euros per night for an additional tent set up on the site (outside your space), i.e. in addition to your own tent. (e.g. a small Canadienne) to be paid on site. So, if there are several of you and you have a 3rd small tent - this can be placed at the back of the house near the swimming pool (in this case I'll turn off the filtration at night for the peace and quiet - for the record, my bedroom overlooks this area and at night I can hardly hear the filtration - but for your absolute peace and quiet - I can turn it off for one night!)
It's not possible to empty your camping toilet in my bathroom.
Breakfast: please let us know when you book, at least for the first breakfast - times to be agreed the evening before.
Laundrette 700m away (near the supermarket) - You can hang your laundry on the outside clothesline (clothespins available).
Sorting garbage cans (household, cardboard/plastic and glass) at your disposal - and Compost bin
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask: if I can, I'll do my best to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

Extras

Possibility of breakfast (€5 / person)

Coffee or chocolate or milk or tea, bread, homemade cake, homemade jam, butter, plain yoghurt (please let us know at the time of booking, at least for the first breakfast) - Schedule to be defined the evening before.

  • A warm welcome from Dominique. The town of Grenade is very pretty and not far from the Canal du Midi.
Dominique and I took a stroll through the market, which was great fun.
The pool after the bike ride is really good for you!
    I'd definitely recommend it.

  • Here you arrive at the 5-star ???? ???? ???? ???? homecamper! A private bathroom and sink, access to Dominique's extra kitchen, all extremely clean and new, and a lovely garden! What's more, Dominique is extremely friendly and I really appreciated her company, her availability and the quality of our exchanges...and if I tell you that she took the time to prepare an excellent cake for my breakfast! Enough to get you back on track for a day's cycling! A precious encounter!

  • We were two cyclotourists. Very warm welcome and pleasant little touches. The shower/dish area was very clean.
