Description

We ourselves are frequent travelers by car or in a Campinambulle van, so we wanted to welcome travelers and show them our magnificent farmhouse in the heart of nature, with all amenities. Our first neighbors are just 2 fields away. Yes, we count in fields here!

The setting

In a magnificent stone farmhouse, with trees and flowers, surrounded by pastures, accessible via a beautiful driveway lined with tall trees, we welcome travelers who wish to stop off or stay and recharge their batteries in a peaceful, natural setting.
We have 3 chickens in the henhouse by the sink. You can bring them your leftovers. They love treats and company...
Pitches on a flat, grassy plot with trees and shade (a hedge of trees to the south provides shade all day), 100 meters from our home, and therefore completely independent.
Just 20 km from the spa town of Vichy, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The "Le Pal" amusement and wildlife park in St Pourçain/Besbre is 30 minutes away (one of the best in France in terms of value for money). Allow at least 2 days, and you won't have enjoyed everything yet!
At the foot of the Montagne Bourbonnaise, just 15 km away, crossed by the GR3 and GR3A, you'll find 480 km of hiking and mountain-biking trails, and plenty of little fishing spots to enjoy the "coup du soir"...
You'll also discover some remarkable sites, such as the Plan d'Eau de St Clément, or the Rocher St Vincent, a superb climbing site...
This is our favorite playground (there are still streams, trout and chanterelle mushrooms, but shhh! Keep that to yourself...

The spots

The reception area is a 600 m2 flat grassy field.
It leaves plenty of room for privacy from other travelers (5 to 6 max).
The horizon is open to the forest in the distance.
As mentioned above, you can stay in the shade of the big oak or hazelnut trees, or in the sun as you wish.
Open, undefined pitches.

The sanitary facilities

Spotlessly clean dry toilets, cold water point with sink, outdoor hot shower.

The amenities

A large fire under our "Grand Chêne" for unforgettable evenings.
Electricity is available in the center of the outdoor reception area (extension cord supplied if required).

The activities

Vichy: a spa town, a town of culture and pleasure, a very sporty town with its lake and its sports center (which houses the CREPS for training top-level athletes = accessible, top-notch facilities), a green town on a human scale. I really recommend it!
Our farmhouse is 20 minutes from the Montagne Bourbonnaise and 1 hour from the Parc des Volcans d'Auvergne.
See also my comments on the Montagne Bourbonnaise in the "Setting" section above.
For the little ones, the Trézelles lake (6 km away) is simply a dream. In the shade, they can wade in the Besbre at their leisure and without any risk.

Other things

Market in Lapalisse on Thursday mornings (10 minutes away). In Vichy on Wednesday mornings and Saturday mornings in Cusset (just before Vichy).
La ferme de Layat, in Trézelles (6 km) is an eco-responsible farm offering 100% natural, organic and local produce. You can come on our behalf.

  • An unexpected interlude in the countryside, to recharge your batteries, a wonderful meeting with Monique, passionate and fascinating.
Thank you for your warm welcome

  • A very pleasant stay in a natural and authentic setting.

The hosts were very welcoming and attentive to our needs,
Monique and her son welcomed us like family,
Great times shared together, thanks again :)

    We recommend :)

  • A very pleasant time at Monique's! The setting, the space, but above all Monique's warm welcome and friendliness, made it a very pleasant discovery! To be remembered!

  • Nothing to say except thank you to Monique for her warm welcome. The site is superb, and the evening by the fire was great. It was our first time camping with a local and we were delighted.

  • Monique's home is splendid and very well maintained.
All the comforts of a night's camping in our converted vehicle: a beautiful view of nature, dry toilets, a washbasin/sink area, a place to grill over a wood fire, space for the kids to run around and play...
Monique is a warm and pleasant person who welcomed us with open arms. A great first experience and many thanks!

  • The nature site met our family's needs perfectly. Monique's welcome is very pleasant for both adults and children. Following a small health problem, Monique mobilized herself and found us an appointment with a doctor. Many thanks. The stay was far too short (3 nights), we can't wait to come back.

  • A thoughtful hostess, Monique welcomes with the generosity and the extra soul that passionate and exciting people have. The site of her property is like her: filled with a magnificent energy, generous and delicate.
I will come back to listen to the legend of Alphée and perhaps enter the house with the red door again...
    Thank you for everything, Monique
    Yours sincerely
    Philippe
