Description

Indulge in a nature experience, a somewhat unusual vacation for those who choose slow rhythms and out-of-the-box routines.
An adventure for families, friends, or loners who like alternative choices. It's more than just a campground, it's an outdoor home!
You will sleep in the trees but not give up the comforts of a classic home. Time and space to relax and rest but also to entertain the little ones with healthy games in the woods.

The setting

We are a family of two adults and a little girl, happy to meet new people and share our home forest. Chestnut is the star of the woods, which is mostly steep. All spaces are within our private grounds but in secluded areas, excluding the kitchen area which is in front of our home.

The spots

We have two sleeping stations: for one group of people.
Bell tent: the waterproof and breathable cotton bell tent, a cool, dry shelter. It lays on a raised wooden platform among the shade of chestnut trees, giving the impression of sleeping in a tree house. Perfect for two people or two adults and a small child, inside a comfortable double bed.
We provide a blanket and double sheet and two pillows.
Tree tent: The bed consists of a double tensioned hammock suspended in the trees. It has an adjustable dividing strap in the middle that converts the floor into one or two sleeping places. It has a mosquito net and a waterproof rain cover. It will be a blast for the kids and an experience for the adults. We do NOT provide sleeping bags, bring them from home to sleep in the tree tent.
So, the maximum capacity is 5 people: 2+1small child in the Bell tent and 2 in the tree tent.

The sanitary facilities

The toilet is a convenient, clean compost toilet that treats human solid waste through composting and dewatering processes, resulting in a final product that can be used as an organic soil conditioner in agriculture. The shower water is heated by solar panels and is at your complete disposal.

The amenities

The kitchen area is outside but covered and consists of a simple stove and sink; it is equipped with dishes and cooking essentials. The only appliance present is an all-you-can-eat mini refrigerator. You can enjoy your meals at the large wooden table in the center of the gazebo. In this area you will find lighting, drinking water, power supply. On request we could provide you with a web pocket if you need it, but do not make online commitments because the connection here is poor.
There will be no shortage of hammocks for you to relax in and equipment for games in the trees so you can please adults and children alike.

In addition, you will find local products from artisan and farmer friends on site, and you will smell the scent of our own bread or cookies coming out of the bakery.
The kitchen area and bathroom could be shared with two other guests.

In the house we have two cats and two very affectionate dogs.

The activities

Val Pellice is an area with many picturesque places to visit and natural landscapes to admire, we will be happy to give you useful tips to make your vacation a real experience to live!
Starting from home, you can take several peaceful walks on the paths that connect the various hamlets in the woods or reach the Barfè refuge where you can eat many delicious typical dishes and climb to the summit of Mount Vandalino and enjoy the view.
Countless high-mountain treks start from the nearby weights Villar Pellice, Bobbio Pellice and Villanova, and only an hour away is the imposing Monviso (3,841m) or Sestriere, the highest town in Italy at 2,035 mt.

If, on the other hand, you just feel like unplugging, keeping a slow pace and stretching out to do nothing, then we recommend going for a dip at the cool Tumpi, the natural pools of the Pellice Valley streams; the water will have a rejuvenating effect on you.

Other things

The road to our forest is uphill with narrow hairpin bends, paved but with potholes in places: it can be scary for those who are not used to mountain roads, but don't worry, go slowly and you will arrive safely! It is about 7 km from the village (8 minutes by car and 45 minutes on foot). The nearest train station (Pinerolo) is 25 km away; there are buses running on the Pinerolo-Torre Pellice line.
One day before your arrival I will send detailed directions and location to easily reach the place.
