Description

You can pitch your tent or van on the grounds of our straw house.

The setting

Our house is in the country, but close to the village and to Poitiers (10/15 minutes by car).
Our plot is large, with few neighbors, but the road in front is busy (mainly at peak times).
You can pitch your tent or van on the river bank or on the whole area below the terrace.

The spots

At present, the entire plot can be used as a tent site, from below the terrace to the water's edge.
Our plot is the one on the left when you turn your back on the house (fenced plot). The other 3 lots are recreational lots that we don't own (the one with the cabin is not ours). The access road is therefore jointly owned. We ask you to park in such a way as not to block the path (near the garage or trailer).
Our grounds are well-maintained, but neither a golf course nor a campsite :-)

The sanitary facilities

There's a dry toilet outside in a shower tent (in the toilet there's just your toiletries, paper and sawdust. You don't need to put a lot of sawdust in, it's there to cover your needs and the paper to prevent odors and insects. No garbage cans in the toilets please, not even perishables).

There's an outside tap (cold water).

If we are there, we can take a shower in the evening between 6.15 and 8pm. Depending on our presence in the house, we can modify these times. The maximum time will still be 8pm, as children are obliged.

The amenities

There are 3 outdoor electrical outlets, (on the terrace, at the level of the future henhouse and on the banks of the Clain). We have 2 extension cords of about 40m).
If we are absent when you arrive, only the socket on the terrace will be accessible.

There is a light on the side of the terrace, near the tap. The switch is near the socket. Please remember to turn off the light if you turn it on :-)

There are garbage cans next to the garage and compost in the blue bin on the terrace.

The activities

Our house is located 7 minutes from Futuroscope and 10/15 minutes from Poitiers.
The medieval town of Chauvigny, 25km away, is well worth a visit, as is Angle sur l'Anglin, 50km away.
You can also download the Terra Aventura app, which will help you discover the surrounding towns and villages through a series of riddles.
Several sites also offer kayaking. If you have one, you can leave from home.

Rules

For smokers, ashtrays with sand are available on the terrace near the plug.

We are currently working on the outside. We're going to make an in-ground greenhouse, which at the moment is just a hole. There's rubble to delimit the space. It's not at all close to the pitches, but please be careful, especially with children. On the banks of the river Clain, a terrace is under construction.

  • Pleasant stay at Mariette's, a discreet family that allows a great deal of freedom. Beautiful terrace by the river.

The dry toilets deserve to be in a wooden hut rather than a decathlon tent. We're planning to upgrade the facilities once they're done, which will be great for those visiting Futuroscope or the region.
