What to do in Ille-et-Vilaine?

Ille-et-Vilaine has many natural treasures, including the Emerald Coast. Stretching from Cap Fréhel to the West of Mont Saint Michel, this coast owes its name to its colour. As a coast offering superb landscapes, the Emerald Coast is also home to many seaside resorts.
The Brocéliande forest is also the ideal place to recharge your batteries during walks and hikes, sheltering many remarkable trees. Also known as the Paimpont forest, Brocéliande is steeped in mystery and magic, because it had supposedly been trodden by Korrigans, fairies and other enchanting beings.

Dolmens and menhirs can also be found in Ille-et-Vilaine just like in the rest of the Britanny region, notably with La Roche aux Fées (a dolmen classified as a historical monument) and with the megalithic site of Saint Just.

The museum of Brittany is a must-see if you pass through Rennes. The Opera also unveils its beautiful architecture to the general public.
