Description

The idea of camping is certainly not the usual one, here you can really escape the traps of the city and get back to an experience in touch with nature.

The setting

We are a family of two adults and a little girl, happy to meet new people and share our home forest. Chestnut is the star of the woods, which is mostly steep. All spaces are within our private grounds but in secluded areas, excluding the kitchen area which is in front of our home.Here you will find space for relaxation but also fun for the little ones with games in the woods.

The spots

We have a private and secluded space nestled in the woods, surrounded by trees. This space will be reserved only for a single group, suitable for no more than 3persons. It is not possible to drive to the tent site. Electricity is free for charging phone or camera. We ask an extra charge if you use it to power your appliances such as portable refrigerators.

The sanitary facilities

The toilet is a practical and clean compost toilet that treats human solid waste through composting and dewatering processes. The final product can be used as organic fertilizer in agriculture. The shower water is heated with solar panels and is available to you.

The amenities

The kitchen area is outside but covered and consists of a simple stove and sink; it is stocked with dishes and cooking essentials (no refrigerator) you can eat your meals at the large wooden table in the center of the gazebo. In this area you will find lighting, drinking water, and electricity.
Please note that there is an extra charge for electricity consumption, excluding phone charging. We could provide you with a web pocket upon request, but do not make commitments to work online because there is no good web connection here.

There will be no shortage of hammocks for you to relax in and play equipment in the trees so you can please adults and children alike. Play equipment: jumping jump, zip line, aerial fabric, swing, balance courses.
In addition, you will find local products from artisan and farmer friends on site, and you will smell our own bread or cookies coming out of the bakery.

The bathroom and kitchen area are shared with other guests.

We have two cats and two dogs, male and female.

The activities

The Pellice Valley is a little known area but with many beautiful places to visit and natural landscapes to admire, we will be happy to give you useful tips to make your vacation a real experience to live!

Starting from the house you can take several peaceful walks along the paths that connect the different villages in the woods or reach the Barfè refuge where you can eat many delicious typical dishes and if you are a real walker climb to the top of Mount Vandalino and enjoy the view.
There are countless high mountain treks starting from nearby Villar Pellice, Bobbio Pellice and Villanova weights. Only an hour away is the imposing Monviso (3,841 mt) or Sestriere, the highest town in Italy at 2,035 mt.

If, on the other hand, you just want to unplug, keep a slow pace and relax by doing nothing, then we recommend taking a dip in the cool Tumpi, the natural pools of the Pellice Valley streams. The water will have a rejuvenating effect on you!

Other things

The road to our forest is uphill with narrow hairpin bends, paved but with potholes in places: it can be scary for those who are not used to mountain roads, but don't worry, go slowly and you will arrive safely! It is about 7 km from the village (8 minutes by car and 45 minutes on foot). The nearest train station (Pinerolo) is 25 km away; there are buses running on the Pinerolo-Torre Pellice line.
One day before your arrival I will send detailed directions and location to easily reach the place.

Rules

Bonfires are absolutely forbidden.
It is not possible to stay in an RV.
The pitch is not accessible by car.

  • We spent 4 wonderful days at Chiara's place. The place is very nice and very quiet. Everything is well thought out and works well. The breakfasts are rich and varied. We enjoyed a lot of peace and privacy. Besides the region has a lot to offer, it is a highly recommended place.

  • It was our first night in italy and it was quite a ride for finding the place but worth it. This was juste the perfect place for a night or two, Chiara is welcoming there was a bio hot shower and biotoilets at your disposal very clean. You are surrounded by a deep forest and at night you can even hear wild boars quite spectacular experience and we loved it all the way. Just maybe a bit expensive versus other cool spots we eperienced since but its ok. Thanks chiara
