Description

Come and enjoy our green setting on the edge of the forest, and the cabins located behind the house, for a moment of relaxation I hope unforgettable.

The setting

Land located on the commune of Chevreaux, but in a small valley very quiet and cool at 450m altitude.
No light at night, very little traffic (even not after the milk truck around 10pm) on the road which is 150m away.
Saint amour and Cuiseaux are 15mn away (for shopping at the Super U, La vie Claire, producer's store), the circuit of the Bresse and the A39 freeway are 20mn away.
The access to the lake of Vouglans and the beach of Surchauffant by Orgelet is done in 35mn approximately.

The spots

You will find 3 flat areas behind the house to pitch your tents, near the cabins regrouping the outdoor kitchen, the fire and rest area.
The living areas are covered but not enclosed.
The land is generally shaded by trees and the summer temperatures are pleasant.

Price for 1 person 9€.
Then 5€ per additional person.
3€ per child under 13 years old for more than 2 persons.
Free under 4 years old.
Plus site commission.

The sanitary facilities

There is a large dry toilet at the top of the field.
There is a solar shower at the bottom of the field with an electric back-up, but it is best to use it at the end of the day so that the water is best preheated by the sun.
No hot water at the huts

The amenities

An internet connection is available in wifi to the house (on request because it is normally cut off), but limited and for troubleshooting because we are on a 4G router with a mediocre speed.
The mobile network is very bad but possible in some places depending on the phones.
The kitchen has a rustic wood stove, a fridge (with freezer) and two sinks.
There are grills to cook things on the fire.
There is electricity in both cabins, and light.
There is no hot water at the taps, but it is possible to boil water on the stove or with the kettle.
A wood-fired bread/pizza oven is available in the second cabin.

The activities

You can visit Cuiseaux and Saint Amour nearby.
There is an uncovered swimming pool in both towns (Cuiseaux will be refurbished in 2019).
A goat farm is located 10 minutes away by car and can be visited from 6pm.
The castles of Chevreaux and Rosay are also worth seeing.
The Vouglans lake is about 30/35mn away, same for Lons le Saunier, Louhans... 45mn for Bourg en Bresse

Other things

There is a sound system in one of the cabins to enjoy the place with music (until 11pm, being careful with the noise especially at night, the sound goes through the velux windows of the rooms of the house).
As in all the countryside, you will find flies, horseflies, wasps etc... However it is not too bad near the trees.
If you are interested in a course on leather work during your stay, please let me know so that I can make arrangements with my brother. Rates on request.
If possible, please use ecological products for showering and washing dishes.

Rules

As the house is home to two families with young children, we ask you to respect the calm of the place, especially in the evening. Calmness will be requested from 11pm and silence from midnight (the windows overlook the cabins and the voices carry into the rooms)
Thank you for arriving at a decent time, it's more convenient to settle in and do a little briefing, and easier to find the house (we're a bit lost in the woods).
You can come with your dog if there is no problem of barking, that you pick up its excrements and that it does not ramble everywhere, especially in the enclosure of the donkeys, that could be dangerous. We also have a goose and a cane which are not allowed to run around.
There are two donkeys in an enclosure nearby, they sometimes make a little noise when they are happy (or hungry ;-) )
A henhouse is located near the entrance of the house to go and make a cuckoo to the hens and the roosters.

Extras

Tent ready

We can lend two Quechua 3-person tents. I also have 2 big 4-person tents but it's more difficult to put up/store.
On the other hand I don't have any mattresses or blankets.

  • Exceptional setting,
The kitchenette, the barbecue area, the bar area, the campfire area and all this made in a quality of artisanal woodwork that sells dreams.
On a nice evening, the view of the stars is magnificent because the ground is very open.
We loved spending an evening there and will gladly return.
    The donkeys are adorable.

  • Great welcome.
Quiet and restful place. Perfect for nature lovers and young children. Very well equipped.

  • Great place, great hosts, great stay! Thanks a lot :)

  • Super stay spent in Chevreaux with Jérôme and his family. Very good reception, absolute calm, one is in full nature, solar shower, dry toilet, kitchen with the wood fire and very convivial sheltered outside place!
The place is top, we will return ;)

  • No need to go to the other side of the world to get a change of scenery and disconnect in all simplicity. This stay was a great experience for the whole group, from children to parents. Great welcome, very well equipped place, and a very relaxing natural setting!

  • Jérôme and his family are very welcoming. The outdoor space is vast and the facilities facilitate exchanges and conviviality. We had a pleasant stay, and we will certainly come back.

  • A nice little place to come and discover! The hosts gave us a warm welcome. Well equipped with all the comforts for budding campers. Go there, you won't be disappointed. A pleasant moment to spend without your phone.
I highly recommend it and I'll be back!

  • Friendly and welcoming hosts, in an ideal environment to blossom and enrich yourself with encounters, sharing and especially laughter. Ideal land for camping, with modern equipment while remaining sustainable and ecological! Hosts who are always concerned about improving the place for an ideal vacation!

  • What can I say about this almost magical place that happily propelled us out of time!
    Everything corresponded to us.
In order to preserve this magical place for us alone, we would prefer to say that we did not like it, but our hosts and their family would not deserve it!
Thank you so much for your sincerity and kindness.
I already miss baby goose! Maybe next year we will come back with fertilized eggs or Brahma chicks to please Dame d'Alsace ;)
